The Moon Stealers #3

The Moon Stealers and The Everlasting Night

Rate this book
The science fiction adventure series continues as the human race attempts to survive.

The Moon Stealers, bacteria evolved from an alien meteorite, strike a devastating blow to mankind. MI6 operative Steven Knight, together with Georgia and Tracker, attempt to make their way to London to join other survivors. In the face of despair, survivors react in many different ways to their fate and are quick to betray other humans if their own dominance in the new world becomes threatened. Betrayed by another, Steven finds himself at the mercy of the alien creatures and must rely on his investigative powers to discover a way for the human race to survive.

But, it's a race against time as the creatures continue to change...

"The Moon Stealers is a little fun, a little scary and a lot adventure."

The science fiction adventure theme of book one changes in book two to become more fantasy based with Elves, Unicorns, Centaurs and many others forming a cast of thousands as the underworld is taken to war. This is a classic tale of good against evil and championing of the under dog. Once again, this book will appeal to teenagers and middle grade students as well as adults.

At some point in Tim's childhood, he was abducted by aliens and sent on a voyage of knowledge and discovery across the universe. Eventually the aliens realised how pointless this was and, as a failed student, he was returned to Earth and left with a family who brought him up as a human bean. But, the persistent memories of new worlds, dragons and other creatures, continued to knock at his frontal lobe, desperately trying to break out. To avoid making a mess and calm his imagination, Tim began writing as a way to communicate with Earthlings. Fuelled by Chilli and Nachos and a bottle of wine, Tim manages to balance a love of loud rock music and fast cars (preferably red!) with emotional chic flicks, smart leather shoes and a well tailored suit. He has successfully infiltrated the humans and hides behind the façade known as a family. He learns from his children, but is regularly told to stop acting like a child by his wife. Naturally shy and unsociable by nature, he is selective of the human company he keeps, preferring to be around old books, bonsai and art. He cries at 'It’s a wonderful life' but sulks if fed evil vegetables disguised as Parsnips or Peas. He is bored by mundane conversation, excited by architecture and castles and fuelled by Caramel Latte Macchiato's. Occasionally, he likes to catch up with old acquaintances on Tatooine, Westeros, and Middle Earth, and stare at fantasy and concept art as if it is a window to his childhood adventures. He is always trying to learn lessons from the masters; Mr Charles Darwin and Mr Lionel Ritchie, about life and love. Tim's galactic mission is to translate his brain activity into a language that inspires and entertains you, transports you to different worlds and grants you an audience with the characters you have dreamt about, but never dared to remember. All of this in an attempt to redeem himself with his childhood alien abductors and travel the stars once more.

I was given this book in return for an honest review. I have read both part one and part two of the Moonstealers book series. I am pleasantly surprised each time I pick up the newest installment. Steven, Georgia, and Tracker are back in book three. In London, where an alien meteorite struck, bringing a bacteria with it that wreaks havoc on the human population. Oh, don't forget the aliens, if the bacteria that is deadly to humans isn't bad enough, the aliens are there to get the job done. As they work their way through the countryside looking for and picking up survivors as they go, they find out that the aliens and the bacteria aren't the only danger out there. Humans are just as dangerous. Just like any apocalyptic storyline, people all react differently to an event like this, so you have humans who are scared, confused, hurt, evil, criminal, untrustworthy. When you are trying to survive in a world where no one can really be trusted, what are you odds of survival, not just as a person, but as a species. But as in all disasters, there are always heroes, the good guys who are looking out for the weak and trying to find a solution to the problem at hand. That is Steven and his crew. I absolutely love these characters, and I can't imagine anyone NOT loving them. What's really cool about this series is, from one book to the next, it changes. It's the same characters, the same story line continued, yet it's not. It's different from book to book, from fantasy to apocalyptic events, each book has a different feel. So while you still get the characters that you love, you also get something completely new and different with each book in this series. This alone will keep kids and adults engrossed and coming back for more because each book has something fresh and new. I completely recommend this series to anyone who loves a good book with awesome twists.

I loved the Moon Stealers books. I especially like the moon stealers themselves. They start as bacteria, eating away at living things until they are fully deceased. then after some time, they become a bat-like organism, with a large milky eye that looks like the moon (hence the name 'Moonstealers'). Moon Stealers are relatively blin, so they depend on their senses of hearing and smell. They also have bacteria in their claws, which starts to eat away at the wound. The characters in this book are Steven, Georgia, and Tracker, (who actually turns out to be a prince from the Buckingham Palace) are running from the moon stealers and are trying to survive. Steven and Georgia both work for M16, and they need to find the antidote for the Moon stealers, but in Wildred's Lab, ANILE, but the only problem is that Wildred is really trying to profit off of all of this, and tried to get Steven, Georgia, and Tracker killed.
