Keeping It Professional: A Grumpy Paramedic Romance

Rate this book
He doesn’t believe she has what it takes to save others,
The truth is, she might just save him…

HER

My first day as a paramedic, and it’s everything I’ve been working toward.
Right away, it’s clear my new partner can’t stand me,
Miles doesn’t think I can handle the pressure, but I’m trained to take the weight of people’s lives in my hands.
Just because I crack a smile once in a while doesn’t mean I’m not up to the job,
And my grumpy partner could do with learning the same lesson…

HIM

I’ll admit, I wasn’t pleased at getting stuck with the rookie,
Sophie looks like a doll, all cute and shiny, fresh from the box. Paramedic Barbie.
And her attitude is all sunshine and rainbows, even though it’s midwinter in Boston.
I’m afraid this job will crush her, the way it nearly did me.
The problem with workplace crushes is they can easily get out of hand,
And one night, it goes way, way beyond that.
A little stress relief to burn off the adrenaline? Fine.
We’re both adults here, and we know not to turn it into anything more complicated,
Because if there’s one thing I know about people, it’s that letting them in can be dangerous…

The Rookie and the Pro....learning to work together and more

Keeping It Professional is the second book in the Love Heals All Wounds series. This is a workplace romance between two paramedics, one an older and seasoned pro and the other a younger rookie. Sophie may be a new paramedic but she is determined to succeed and excited. When her new partner turns out to be the grumpy Miles let's just say she is going to have to more than prove herself. These two are like fire and ice and are sizzling hot as they go from call to call. When one call turns bad and their lives are put in danger Miles realizes that even though he thought of Sophie as "Paramedic Barbie" he has developed feelings for her that he is not comfortable with.
This book is well written with an engaging story-line and very likeable characters. It was an entertaining read.

True Love to Heal His Pain -
This is an angst and drama filled romance story, that will definitely pull at your heartstrings with all the emotional content, but the heartwarming and steamy moments will make up for it. I found myself engrossed in this captivating page turner that I couldn’t stop reading from the moment I started until the end. You have got to grab a copy of this book now to read and you won’t be disappointed.

Heartwarming, beautiful story

I have loved all Layla’s books and I loved this one too.
For me Layla’s books are so well written, just the right length, no unnecessary angst but still full of emotions.
Miles worked as a paramedic and Sophie was his fresh out of training new partner. They both had things in their past that shaped them. The book makes you feel like you are there watching their struggles and then being part of the all important HEA.
Thank you Layla, now to find my next book ❤️

Started this book off of an advert recommendation not sure if I’d even like it… Please someone tell me why it’s made me cry?

I felt everything from Miles and Sophie and what they’ve been through. The tears I’ve shed because of this read is unreal.

Still recovering after finishing it so there will 100% be more to this review.

My only qualm is how fast they jumped together, but after finishing the book, worth it.

Not the best of Layla.

Beginning with a reality paramedic scenes it was good.
But suddenly the plot gave a 180 degrees and converted into a mixed love/hate story very confusing to follow.
Sorry Layla.

I have to admit that I feel for Miles when he gets stuck with his new partner, Sophie! Training can be the worst but training a bubbly can do attitude individual can put some of us over the edge! Add in attraction and this book has disaster in every page for an uptight character like Miles. Sophie does smooth his rough edges but the tension between them (both pre bedroom and post) is delicious. They play off of each other and the writing brings the reader into the dangerous situations they are put into while on the job. I do wish Sophie made him grovel a bit more…girl needs to make sure he knows she is worth it!!!
