Dead God Rising
In the haunted coastal metropolis of Seawall, Technomancer and Investigator Ian Dedikar thought he'd seen it all. But when a ghost ship drifts into the harbor with its entire crew dead, he realizes this case will test the limits of his skills—and his sanity. As Dedikar delves deeper into the mystery, he uncovers a chilling connection between the ship and a long-dormant artificial intelligence. This ancient AI now threatens to awaken and unleash devastation upon the people of the city. Racing against time, Dedikar must navigate through ancient myths, superstitions, and his own personal demons to stop the hell that is coming. With each step, he edges closer to a truth and becoming the machine’s next victim.

As the AI's influence spreads and the body count rises, Dedikar finds unlikely allies in his former partner and a living relic from the past. Together, they must stop the AI before it fully awakens and turns Seawall into a graveyard. In a pulse-pounding race to save the city, Dedikar will be forced to confront not only the demons lurking in Seawall's shadows but also those haunting his own past. Can he solve the case and stop the AI before it's too late, or will Seawall become a nothing ruin of humanity? Dead God Rising is a gripping blend of hard-boiled detective noir, dark science fiction, and eldritch horror that will keep readers on the edge of their seats until the very last page.

I really enjoyed this dark sci-fi novel. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was engaged from the begining. The Author does a great job keeping everything grounded and visceral. What a novel concept! The technomancer development was quite clever. It skillfully blended machines into the human world, and vice versa. I recommend to anyone searching for a fun escape from this reality.

Feels like: The Witcher written by Michael Crichton.
