HE THOUGHT ONLY HE COULD SEE THEM…Rather than hanging out with his peers, Tobi Otogiri spends most of his time chatting in secret with his pal Baku, a mysterious backpack he received the day he last saw his older brother. Or, at least, Tobi doesn’t think anyone is listening until a girl in his class named Ryuuko suddenly asks him about Baku. Not only can she hear his backpack’s voice, but she can see the weird entities attached to the people around them, just like Tobi. Could those strange things be behind the recent series of odd occurrences at their school?

Very well written with likeable characters and a universe that I love. it reminds me a lot of a children's game called Yokai, I'm excited for more lore and world building in the next volumes

first thing im gonna say is that my review of this book is going to be to biased simply because i love eve… LOL
but honestly i’ve been waiting for so long to finally have this book in english and it was totally worth the wait i loved it sm
i’ve been so invested in this story and eve’s world since first watching the music video for “Inochi no Tabekata” in 2021 and i’m so glad that juumonji and eve decided to come togther to make this because it lets you dive so much deeper into the story outside of just the music video
i also love how stories let you see so much more of a character, their personality and background than a music video and i really enjoyed getting to know tobi, seki and even baku, more than the music videos let us
other than the fact that i’m really happy this book even exists i also just really enjoyed reading it i’m loving the story and how it’s set out and, putting aside it’s an eve story, it’s genuinely really interesting
i love how creative eve is with all his music videos and creating this whole intertwined world and i cant wait to see how it moves from here
i will be waiting very impatiently for the next book (and hoping for a fuchi feature?)

side note, i love haizaki
