When I moved in with Nick, I thought I was just saving some cash. My attention strayed after catching a glimpse of him enjoying a little โself-careโ with my name on his lips.
Suddenly, I wasnโt just interested in saving money. I was determined to get him to see me as more than Derekโs little sister. I was sexy, single, and maybe exactly what heโd been searching for.
Let the sparks fly.
Nick
Donโt fraternize with the enemy.
Seemed like a simple enough rule. Until Charlotte moved into my house and started trying to kill me via a fatal case of blue-balls. I already knew she was a badass business owner. Now I was seeing another side of her. A side that was all satin, lace and late-night moans.
Allโs fair in love and war, but this level of teasing had to be a crime.
Has this grudge lasted too long for her and I to have something real?
Would admitting my feelings for her mean Iโd have to make up with my nemesis?
Just Screwing Around is Book 1 in the Spoiled By My Blue Collar Man series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, friends-to-lovers, mid-life, forced-proximity, curvy girl gets her blue-collar hunk romance. Charlotte is a 38-year-old sassy, curvy, bakery owner swimming in debt. Nick is a 40-year-old hunky construction company owner and her brother's former best friend turned nemesis. When she applies for an ad to rent a room, Nick is surprised to see her. He's also drawn to the curvy beauty. When Charlotte realizes he is just as attracted to her as she is to him, it's game on for seduction. She proposes a friends-with-benefits arrangement but of course real feelings are involved. This one made me laugh and swoon. Their chemistry was hot and the ending was so happy. I can't wait to read Derek's book!! I loved it.

Charlotte has had a crush forever on Nick Perez, but could never act on it. Nick and her brother Derek had been best friends until they both liked the same girl and chose to become enemies rather than move on. Neither of them won her heart anyway! But they remained enemies. Finally figuring out what she wants to do for a living, she is renovating a bakery, but itโs taking all the money she has, even with her brother doing the work for her. Her solution is to move from her apartment to something less expensive, at least until the bakery opens for business.
Moving in with Nick is like a second chance. He actually had missed her over the years. Now they can catch up on the past or move forward on a new future. They bring fun into their relationship. Their banter is wonderful! Could this really work out for them? And will Derek grow up a bit as well and accept his best friend back into his life? All it would take is a well-paced obvious hickey to get their discussion started, right? And with Charlotte loving both of them, it just has to work out!
If this stupid feud doesn't end soon, she's going to knock a couple of male heads together!
Charlotte has had a crush on Nick Perez for years. Nick had once been her brother Derek's best friend but now is his nemesis. They had vied for the same girl twenty years ago. She hadn't chosen either of them and had moved away years ago, but the feud continued. They had once planned to co-own a construction company. Instead, they both have their own company and underbid each other on work to "win" a contract. She's hopeful that Nick will soon be her new landlord...
So far, her life has been a mess. She spent tons of money trying to become an accountant before deciding that wasn't for her. She spent money at college to learn how to bake and make pastries. She bought a bakery that is due to open in six weeks. Only renovations are expensive even with Derek doing the work; she's still deciding on her menu and recipes, plus she'll soon learn that she forgot about some upcoming business expenses. She's down to her last pennies and must give up her beautiful apartment. When she saw the room for rent ad online, she knew immediately that it was at Nick's house.
Once Charlotte moves into his home, NIck realizes how much he's missed her over the last twenty years. She's only two years younger than him, and they had grown up being close friends, too. The feud with Derek had ended their closeness.
The last contract bid he won was with the University townhouse complex. The completion date must be met, or his business will not only be in financial trouble, but his reputation will suffer. He's going in early to do paperwork, helping the crew during the day, and staying late at night. He's exhausted, and something has to give soon...
Charlotte to the rescue! With a wave of her purple wand, delicious meals and treats are being served; he has the use of the softest towels he's ever felt, not to mention her TLC.

Charlotte is opening up a bakery, Oh Beans! While putting herself in debt. Sheโs trying to cut cost while not going completely broke, so she gives up her apartment and starts looking for anyone looking for a roommate. Charlotte find one that looks familiar and turns out to be her brotherโs ex best friend, Nick. Nick and Derek (charlottes brother) used to be super close until they had a falling out years ago. So Nick thinks itโs a joke when Charlotte shows up at his door, only to find out she was actually serious. So he agrees and starts noticing things about her that he never did before. Charlotte starts unpacking her things and placing things in places that she knows Nick will go snooping at.
They start making flirty comments and one thing leads to another and they start falling for each other. Yet they have a problem. Derek wouldnโt be happy about it.
This was SUCH a great book and the ending is exactly what I needed!
I love books where the hero and heroine are older- like 40ish. Just love that. Both Nick and Charlotte know what they want (successful businesses, each other) and what they donโt want (kids) and it matches and Iโm thrilled. The sexytime was super hot because each knows their own body well enough to be able to ask for what they want from each other, so itโs very satisfying for both of them. Communication is zexy! Nick is a total blue-collar fantasy and I am surprised that shrines have not been built because of his shirtless body. The story is fun and hot and I love it so much. Safety? Y Tropes- Childhood Friends, Friends to Lovers, Forced Proximity (roommates), Small-Town Bakery, Good with His Hands (contractor), Brotherโs Enemy, Secret Crush.

Just screwing around by Alana Gray is a later in life, friends to lovers, roommate short read romance that grabbed this readerโs attention from the start. The characters are well-written and the story really brings in real-life connections that make it an even more enjoyable read. I loved that Charlotte and Nick are more of a seasoned age and become a couple who journey to find their HEA. They each have some emotional vulnerabilities that they face together as they continue their renewed friendship that grows into a heartfelt connection with romance and steamy encounters along the way. Just screwing around is Book 2 of the Spoiled by My Blue Collar Man Series and worth the read.

Just Screwing Around is filled with fun, flirty banter, complications, and deep connection. Charlotte and Nick have a history of friendship, and watching them reconnect as roommates is delightful. I adored watching them rekindle their friendship as they each struggle as business owners. The scenes with Derek are my favoriteโespecially when Charlotte gives her brother a good ribbing and a rude awakening. Nick is hardworking, caring, and forthrightโall amazing qualities. Charlotte is feisty and funny and perseveres through everythingโher drive and determination are admirable. Watching her turn that on Nick? Oh. Yes! A quick and satisfying read with plenty of build up and steam.

As the enemy he is forbidden, but that doesn't stop Charlotte, she is a woman who knows what she wants and it's Nick...all of him, repeatedly, but only for....forever! I love Charlotte, she is hilariously obvious, teasingly impatient and has never heard the word subtle, she is happy to ask for what she wants and invites Nick to join her and B.O.B without hesitation - how can he possibly resist? I love how easily they fall into a relationship and embrace it, they are old enough to know what they want and claim it. Feud be damned. Plenty of tease, flirty banter and steamy lovin' make this a great read on Kindle Unlimited.
At the age of sixteen, a promise, along with the friendship, was broken. Now, they are in their forties, and they are still feuding, and that makes things difficult for Charlotte.
Charlotte needs to move out of her apartment to save money, and answers a "room for rent" ad. As luck would have it, the owner is her long held crush, and her older brother's rival.
Light on dialog and heavy on inner monolog, which is why I gave it a four instead of a five. And a fued that went on for twenty-plus years too long.

Nick has an over decade long feud with Derek. Charlotte is Derek's little sister. She needs an affordable place to live while she prepares and opens her bakery. Tropes: Friends to lovers, brother's enemy, roommates, off-limits, HEA romance, rom-com, blue collar, low angst.
A special thank you to Alana Gray and Booksprout for providing me with an eARC book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

So close to crossing the finishing line and opening her dream bakery led her to needing to cut costs and sharing a house is an option. Answering an ad for a room puts her in a spot when it turns out to be her brothers enemy and her teenage crush. I loved this one from the start to the end.

This was a fun story to read. It is a short story that does not skimp on steamy scenes or happy endings. I liked the chemistry between the main characters, and I loved the happy ever after ending.

Charlotte has always crushed on Nick since he used to be her brother's best friend. Now they are enemies but also her new roommate. Her crush feels stronger than it used to be but will he see her as more than the sister of his nemesis?
Charlotte and Nick haven't spoken in a while due to his feud with her brother. Charlotte is in a bind , she needs to save money until her bakery opens. They help each other in business, but they also find they are more than friends. Enjoy! ๐๐โค๏ธ๐ป
I enjoyed just screwing around which was Nick and Charlotteโs story. It was a fun, easy read. I received an early copy of the book. And voluntarily leaving this review.
Pure chaos-flavored treat: zero patience, all tension, & enough steam to melt my phone. I went in for a tease & ended up feral, sweaty, && deeply invested in these disasters with chemistry.
