Bob Lampson is a normal retired detective who is bored. bored. He retired to take care of his disabled wife, and two years after her death, he didn’t know what to do with himself. Kelly, his youngest daughter, lives with him and she’s as lost as Bob taking odd jobs that don’t pay much so she has to live at home. He doesn’t play sports, although he likes to walk, and all the great things he would do after Caitlin died no longer hold his interest. He wants to return to his first love as a detective but not full-time. He approaches the Kansas City Police Department is down in officers and gets a job as a consultant working part-time solving cold cases, one case at a time, and for minimum wage. Although suspicious of his new job, Kelly decides that she will help her father and write about his exploits.
