Plot : ⭐
Story : ⭐⭐
Spice : 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Rating : ⭐
Tropes : best friend, brother’s girl, childhood friends to lovers au.
Pacing : rushed. the book felt like it was written in a haste, there was no buildup, from the time they were friends to lovers arc.
Characters : ⭐
What I loved : only the spice, and the small details about their family descriptions.
What I struggled with : the pacing of the book felt rushed, I didn’t like the way they just get married, and decide to have sex on the same day, after she gets stood up by the other king brother, and she suddenly starts to have all these “sparks” and “feelings” ???? like when did that happen? where is the buildup, and the tension?
Loveable characters or not : likeable. not loveable.
Strong character development : none.
Plot driven / character driven : none. for me, I just waltzed through the dialogues to understand the story till the end.
Favorite quotes/ highlights : “While he chats with people, his hand maintains contact with some part of me—my back, my waist, my arm, like he’s marking out territory. It should annoy me, but it feels like a badge. Like his claiming me.”
“Yeah. I want the real deal. You won’t be my wife just in name. You’ll be mine in every way, in and out of bed. In exchange, I’ll support you emotionally and financially.” The more I speak, the surer I am about this decision. “Whatever you need, Charlotte, I’ll give it to you.”

Similar authors : none.
Similar book recommendations : no recommendations, but maybe try reading other best friends to lovers books.
Any other details : for a short novella, it was good, but still…i’d need more details about their life, it would have been better. I don’t know how others think of this book :(

I was really interested in the book’s blurb and was expecting to fall in love with the plot, but the execution wasn’t what I had hoped for.

Let’s start with the positive side:
I loved the glimpse of the relationship between Nick and Charlotte that the author gave us. Nick is such a sweetheart and a gentleman to his fiancée from the very beginning. I loved the possessive element, and I still can’t stop thinking about the contrast between him letting her make all the important decisions so everything moves at a pace she’s comfortable with, while in the bedroom everything changes and he becomes a sexy, bossy man…

On the less positive side:
I think the reason why Jay didn’t show up to the wedding could have been much more dramatic (and more realistic) than the one that was chosen. Also, we could have gotten to know April better—she goes from being the woman who kidnapped the groom to only appearing in the epilogue already married to Jay and with a daughter, without much context about their relationship. I understand that this is probably to make readers curious and want to read their book, but it would be even more enticing if we already had a bit more insight into them.
Another thing I felt was lacking was how they mentioned more than once that they didn’t know how to talk to Jay about the wedding—but that conversation never actually happened in the book. That would have added so much more life to the story.

If you love a twin-swap wedding disaster that spirals into a full-blown emotional whirlwind, Accidentally Marrying The Best Man delivers the kind of feral, fast-paced romance that feels like a TikTok trope come to life.

Charlotte is left at the altar by her lifelong best friend Jay—but before the heartbreak can fully settle, his twin brother Nick steps in. Literally. In a tux. Ready to marry her. And while the premise screams messy, the execution is pure heart. Nick isn’t just the hotter twin—he’s the emotionally available one. He wants the vows, the babies, the forever. And he falls first, hard, and without hesitation.

Charlotte’s always had a quiet thing for Nick, and watching her navigate the fallout of a friendship breakup while tumbling into a love story she never thought she’d get is the kind of emotional devastation that novella readers live for. It’s quick, it’s chaotic, and it’s packed with the kind of possessive MMC energy that makes you want to annotate every line with glitter gel pens and thirst emojis.

Perfect for fans of:

• Accidental marriage tropes with zero chill
• Twins with wildly different emotional skill sets
• MMCs who want the whole damn future, not just the girl
• Novellas that hit like a full-length romance in under 100 pages

This one’s a one-sitting read that leaves you feral, fulfilled, and maybe just a little bit ready to crash a wedding yourself.

Jay and Nick King, were twins and Charlotte pretty much grew up with them because her parents were not ideal. Their grandma took her in when she would show up hungry, dirty or hurt. After the Kings’ grandmother passed away, she stipulated that Jay, the oldest of the twins, should marry by the time he is 30 and have a child within 2 years in order to inherit the bar he runs. He’s desperate, so he begs his friend Charlotte to marry him. She agrees, but it will be in name only and platonic — no sex and IVF only. When Jay disappears on their wedding day, Nick has to break the news to Charlotte, when he walks in the room where she’s waiting he is struck by her beauty and how he never noticed her that way before. So, Nick steps up and offers to marry her but he wants the whole package. A cute, entertaining and heartwarming read with characters that make you smile. Loved this short read.

This novella was a very cute love story, that makes you look at the good among the chaos.

When you are marrying your bestfriend out of convenience for him and the he stands you up at your wedding. To the rescue comes his twin brother that has no problem taking his place at the alter, but he wants all the strings not just the marriage.

It is perfect to read if you are in need of a quick read or a pallet cleanser. There is no back and forth, he knows what he wants and takes it.

Although i did love this story i think the plot was left unfinished in a way. I feel some things like why the groom didnt show, what was april running from, and i would have like the conversation when they told the brother that they got married.

Charlotte had grown up with Nick and his twin brother, Jay. When Jay needed to get married to claim his inheritance, Charlotte stepped up for her friend, even though they had never been close like that. And it would help her in a way also. But then Jay disappeared right before the ceremony, and Charlotte was left without a groom. Until Nick said he'd marry her instead. Bonkers!
This was a fun little story, with two people who had known each other for years, but never knew everything. Sometimes the best parts of life come in the surprises. And if you haven't read it, this is the companion to Jay's story "Accidentally Kidnapping the Groom."

When the man you’re marrying out of convenience doesn’t show up so his brother steps in what else can you say except yes please. This is the perfect little novella to add to your reading goal this year. If you want a cute story with spice and a book that gets straight to the point this is the one. The hidden attraction these 2 had for each other for so long made their chemistry instant. The instant protective energy Nick had for Charlotte just made everything even better, especially at the work function 🤭 I would’ve loved reading more about these 2, it ended so quickly I should’ve read slower 🤣

Marriage of Connivance Romance.
Charlotte is a young woman who agreed to an arranged marriage with her best friend to help her with her grandmother's inheritance. However, she didn't expect to be abandoned at the altar by her best friend, let alone for her brother Nick to take his place. Nick, for whom she has always had a crush.
Nick is a man who leads his life in a planned way. But when Charlotte, the girl he has a crush on, is abandoned at the altar, he throws away all his restraint and decides to take his brother's place and marry the woman he secretly loves.
Will Charlotte and Nick have a beautiful story or will Nick's brother separate them…

A great short story. Charlotte had a rough childhood, but now she's a diligent lawyer. For work she needs to be married and her platonic childhood friend could inherit a business he's already involved in. A marriage of convenience becomes a real marriage by the substitute groom's demand. She ends up with a loving, supportive husband.
What a day it turned out for the original groom. His version of the faithful day is in an another book.

Charlotte agreed to marry her best friend so he can get his inheritance. When an hour later he does not show up, his twin brother, Nick come to the bride room. Nick always thought they were a thing, on again and off again. When he finds out they were only friends, there is something about Charlotte that makes him when want her to be his. He does not plan for this to be an in name with an IVF baby, he wants it all with her.

Nick provides Charlotte just what she needs.

A quick read that I found enjoyable. Having been stood up at her wedding, Nick agrees to step in and save the day that his brother ruined for Charlotte. It’s a good thing that Charlotte has secretly crushed on Nick forever so this was an easy agreement for her. It doesn’t take long for Nick to see what he’s been missing all these years. The epilogue threw me a bit so I think I need to find Jay’s story to read.

Literary whiplash

This story moves at lightning speed and that isn’t a good thing. To be fair, I like the premise even if it isn’t realistic. Unfortunately, the book is so short there is no time for character development. It was insta-love and then happily ever after. I’m not certain why there was a protagonist because the author did nothing with them except one catty conversation and besties with three sentences. Just not enough overall

I couldn't wait for this book after reading Kidnapping the Groom. Charlotte is marrying her best friend to help him with his mother's will only he doesn't show up. Instead his twin brother and Charlotte's secret crush Nick steps in. A fast paced read. Enjoyed the dynamics between Charlotte and Nick

This was a quick read. It could be used as a palate cleanser. I like Nick. I hope Jay and April get their own story to explain their experience. Would have given 5 stars if there was more depth. It was a cute quick story.

Nick and Charlotte

I don't know what to say about this one. It was okay but I felt it was missing a little bit more. The story is quick and steamy. It's good if you need a quick romance with a little bit of drama and feelings left secret until the very end.

cute novella

Accidentally Marrying the Best Man is a short and steamy instalove novella, starring an overprotective ex-special forces security expert and the stubborn woman he’ll stop at nothing to claim and breed.

Well...You had me at "breed"! 😎

The premise:
Charlotte gets left at the alter, due to the craziness of Accidentally Kidnapping the Groom. Her chances to make partner at her law firm - as a single woman - are now slim to none. Nick, the twin brother of her groom-to-be, always thought Jay and her were a thing and that she was off limits. Now, he no longer sees her as the little girl he grew up with, but as the beautiful woman she is now. And he steps up to the plate! 🙌

Summary:
This is a cute instalove novella, which uses colorful language and reads very smoothly.

A few of my favorite quotes:
Practicing some deep breathing, I imagine I’m somewhere else. Anywhere else, Maui, Costco, dental surgery.

A snort escapes me. “Parenting. A sport that’s better as a spectator than contestant.”

What I loved:
📕The writing style really sucked me in after the first few paragraphs
💬The dialogue and their banter
🩵Instalove, as promised
🛏️A little bit of dom action in the bedroom
🔚Proper epilogue (3 years later)

What you need to know:
👩Some minor OW drama (past love interest from his teenage years)
🦺No cheating
