Women are crazy. Every woman I date seems perfectly normal until baseball season kicks off. Then their behavior shifts to obsession and clinginess. One tried accusing me of cheating on her with the game.
Seriously? It’s my job.
I’m so done.
Until Arianna looks my way. One taste of her and I’m addicted.
Her life is a complicated mess. I shouldn’t get involved. But I can’t simply stand by and do nothing when her ex and family disrespect her, belittle her job as a pro golfer, and tell her to grow up. She deserves better, and I’m determined to make sure she gets it.
C. R. Riley doesn’t believe in rules when it comes to romance. Her books are bold, emotional, and unapologetically steamy, spanning tropes like enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine, secret pasts, and forbidden attraction. What ties them all together? Deep emotional connection, crackling sexual tension, and characters who love like it’s the only thing keeping them alive.
Writing across sub-genres, C. R. thrives in the chaos of big emotions, tough choices, and the kind of love that doesn’t come easy—but always feels earned. Her goal is simple: give readers stories they feel in their chest and remember long after the final page.
He has had his fair share of girlfriends but when baseball seasons come it gets worse. They want something more and accuse him of cheating. Things change when he meets her, her life is very complicated and he should stay away but he wants to help. Can he help her? Will love form? Will her life get better? See just what will happen
I loved this book and love this series. CR writes amazing stories filled with characters who overcome their challenges to become stronger, more determined and successful.
Ash is an amazing character who is dealing with idiot parents, an unknown health challenge and a stressful sports career. No time for love or romance…until the right person comes along.
Flint is a highly successful baseball player who’s dealing with an ultimate betrayal, getting older as an athlete and who doesn’t have time for love….until.
These two fit together so well and were a delight to read. Flint is a big cinnamon roll who is so good to Ash…caring, supportive and fiercely protective . Love how he stands up for her and is her biggest advocate.
They bring out the best in one another and help each other face the challenges in their personal and professional life. And they are also so passionate and loving towards one another…ya may need a cool drink!
Love seeing cameos from the other characters in the series…love and support from friends and family is superb!!
Love everything CR writes and this is the perfect addition to the series.
I’ll be honest I’m pretty sure Jordyn was my favorite character! Probably because she reminds me of me 😂. She’s the best friend everyone wants to have!
Love happens when you least expect it and when you’re not looking for it. And to find someone to support your dreams and be by your side no matter what happens, like Flint and Ash, is what I feel everyone strives to find in their significant other.
Don’t let all this mushiness fool you. There’s darkness lurking around the corner and unexpected issues that will arise for our couple.
An AMAZING book by C.R. Riley to satisfy my baseball era needs. Very well written and enough spice to keep you wanting more.

Once again, with Book 5 in the “Love of The Game” series, Catcher’s Interference, CR Riley hits it out of the ballpark, delivering an eagle of a sizzling, hot, passionate, and emotional fast-paced romance. From moments that had me reaching for tissues to ones that had me reaching for a glass of ice water to cool down, this gripping storyline delights us with not just one sport, but two—baseball and golf—and Ms Riley weaves them together effortlessly.
Once started, this was a couldn’t-put-down read. Flint and Arianna’s story is full of hard and fast emotions, and if you’re looking for your next perfect book boyfriend who will go above and beyond for the one he loves, then Flint is the guy for you. From start to finish, his added vulnerability and scars from his past add an extra layer of emotion that made me fall even more under his spell.
Arianna’s ex-boyfriend and her warped, high-powered family add yet another breathtaking dimension to this delicious read. CR Riley has crafted a spine tingling story that is both emotionally compelling and scorchingly hot, making Catcher’s Interference a must-read for any romance fan.
There are some authors I love that when a new book comes out, it’s an automatic buy. C. R. Riley is one of those authors for me. The books have real characters with real issues and work them out like real people.
Arianna “Ash” Holt is the newest female golfer and is taking the golf world by storm. Her new neighbor is the KC baseball player Flint Matthews. Ash is trying to get away from an abusive ex and sparks fly immediately when they meet.
I love their story. Flint is supportive, protective, and willing to do anything for her. Ash is determined and learns to trust and open up because of him.
Arianna and Flint have my heart. These two right from the start latched on and never let go. I enjoyed reading their relationship and how they never let anyone get them down or separate them. There were times that Arianna did tell Flint if it became too much for him he could walk away but he never did.
Her parents are serious pieces of work that if I could I would definitely have a serious talking to as they continuously failed her and kept trying to control her life and wanting her away from Flint. I’m glad that Flint gave her the courage to finally take a definitive stand against them and take the reins of her life back into her control.
Will not say more since I don’t want to spoil anything but I definitely recommend this book and hope to others read it as well.
I feel like I say this every time I finish a C.R. Riley book but this one is my new favorite in the series! Ash and Flint had such good chemistry from the beginning that they made it seem like instalove was possible and believable. It was a pretty realistic relationship that started off in a slightly unrealistic way. I liked how there wasn’t any major misunderstanding between Ash and Flint like there are in most instalove stories. They started as a team and that connection only grew stronger the more in love they became.
The chemistry between Ash and Flint is crazy. Love how they just go back and forth with the banter and how they both truly see each other to their souls. Everything about this story just drew me in. Love the last two lines: Tomorrow isn’t promised. We only have today and I will live my finest life with her by my side. I can honestly say that these are words my husband and I say all the time. When I read them here I cried tears of joy. Enjoy this read.
This is book 5 of the series love of the game. You will enjoy this book right from the beginning to the end. Amazing characters as well the stories. This book I have to say was my favorite of the sports game. I love Ash and Flint Chemistry right from the start.
Ash parents are really serious piece of work. They don’t support her carrier as a golf player. It they fail and keep trying to control Ash as well keep away from Flint. Flint gave Ash the courage to stand up to what she believes and her parents.
Flint had his clingy women who only wanted to date him for his title. Until Flint meets Ash swoop into her life and everything is turning on it axis.
You want chemistry, humor, witty banter , love, passion, pain, drama should I go on. Well you have to find out . I recommend this book as well the. Series I give 5/5
This book was quite the surprise. Just when I thought Ash and Flint’s story was going one direction, there’s a hairpin turn of a surprise. Ash and Flint have both overcome some major obstacles before even meeting each other, but the ones they face together really unite them for life. I really enjoyed their story (and the karma that is very evident for all).
For readers looking for a good sports romance where there is a good plot, steamy moments, and a found family then definitely check this book out. Both main characters have traumas/dramas that have made them not to eager to fall in love but maybe they just hadnt found each other and their inner strength.
Catcher's Interference is another awesome page turner from C.R. Riley The banter between Flint & Ash is top notch, and I absolutely loved Ash's bestie Jordyn. These two are perfect for one another and I really enjoyed reading this book.
I love this series. It’s so good. I’ve only read two of her series but this one is my favorite. Flint and Ash are amazing. The antagonists are brilliant. Loved that twist. Must read.
I love baseball/softball, so this was right up my alley!! The sex scenes were fantastic between Ash and Flint!! Loved the attraction they had between each other, and how Ash isn't necessarily your typical thin woman. She's got meat on her and Flint loves it! This is a good read!!
I loved this story about a strong willed golf loving woman and a stand up confident baseball player. Whilst I know nothing about either sport, it didn't matter because the story between these two just draws you in and means the book is unputdownable.
Another phenomenal book by CR Riley! The twists and turns of the characters was amazing and kept me wanting more! I love this entire series! Definitely worth the read!!!
I have loved this entire series. So I was stoked to have Flints story! This is a page turned. I loved the banter between the two. It was spicy and still gave you all the feels! And the side characters esp the Matthew siblings and Ash’s bestie Jordyn just added to the story!
I loved this couple, and did not want the book to end. With them both experiencing emotional pasts of negativity and trauma, the connection between Flint & Ash was perfect. Their story is beautifully written and told with compassion and care. I highly recommend this book as a must read.
This book was filled with great passion, emotion and characters that care and love 100%. This book had me thinking about sports a little more and how fast paced it is. Really great read.
Each book in this series gets better and better and I have to say this one is my favourite. The story is sweet and captivating yet at the same time heartbreaking and gut-wrenching. Ms. Riley delivers two characters who have had to overcome so much from their past and with the help of friends, family, and one another they seem to find the rainbow during the storm. Ash is a pro golfer whose past is full of betrayal, heartache and lack of love from her parents. She is at the top of her game when her sexy baseball player neighbour, Flint, walks in. Little does she know that he is the brother of one of the women on the Pro golf tour. Sparks seem to be there right from the start and they cannot ignore them. Deciding to spend a vacation together they set the sheets on fire. Families interfere but in two very different ways. Ash is dealing with uncaring parents, and an ex-boyfriend who is controlling and does not seem to care about her or her career. Flint is a man who has the biggest heart, loves fully and turns out to be a protector that Ash needed but didn't realize it. He steps up and does the unthinkable but does it because of his feelings for her. They both share their pasts and this is where you might have a tear or two run down your cheek. The strength the two of them must have had to endure what they went through was inspiring. Heart-stopping news is delivered to Ash and Flint and lives are changed forever. Will this change everything or will it make what they have stronger? I loved these two together. The banter and the instant off-the-charts chemistry are what had me unable to put this book down. I needed to see what was going to happen next. This is one book that I will be re-reading.
OMG . What an emotional rollercoaster that sucks you right in from the very first page and does not let go . I started Catchers Interference late last night and to say I did not get any sleep would definitely be an understatement. From page one I know I was in trouble , I could literally feel myself falling more and more in love with Fliint and Ash’s characters . Not only is the chemistry so freaking hot - but I was certainly not prepared for all the emotions their love story stirred in me . I mean speechless one second and telling outta pure frustration the next . Smiling and laughing then sobbing like a baby all while rooting so freaking hard . Both Nash and Flint have not had it easy ( pasts full of struggles and drama ) for Flint well he has had with clingy women who only want to date him for his title as a NHL player and for Ash she is continuously doing her best and working her but off to become a golfer ( the only thing she does not have is what she needs most . The support of her family and loved ones . Well that’s all about to change. Because Flint swoops into her life and everything is turned on its axis . Off the charts chemistry, angst , humor , witty banter , love , passion, pain , drama , heartbreaking and heartfelt moments, tragedy, secrets, second chances, family , friendships and so much more . Catchers Interference is one of the most wonderfully written and emotionally charged love stories I’ve read this yes there . Yes C.R Riley has once again exceeded all my expectations and delivered another home run right outta the ballpark
This is a new author and a new series for me. Although it is book 5, it was perfectly fine as a standalone. I enjoyed it so much I can’t wait to check out the previous books in the series.
Ash (Adrianna) is a pro golfer from a wealthy political family that doesn’t approve of her career or current life choices. She’s also coming out of a 7-year volatile relationship with a man who doesn’t want it to be over. Flint is a pro baseball player who moves in across the hall from Ash. He comes from a large, supportive family and not looking to date after a history of unstable women and his demanding career.
With their busy schedules, they finally meet in Hawaii when Flint surprises his sister who is also on the pro golf tour with Ash. They meet and sparks fly. Their attraction is instant and strong. Flint agrees to run interference with her meddling family and persistent ex.
I loved the writing in this book. The characters are well developed, and this is so much more than a formulaic fake dating relationship story. Ash is independent and not use to relying on anyone other than her best friend Jordan (who is a hoot) for support. Flint ah Flint, we all need a Flint in our lives. He’s the cinnamon roll hero that supports her without hesitation. These 2 bring out the best in each other and I loved their story. The secondary characters added to the story, and I can’t wait to read more from this author and series.
I absolutely loved the whole story about Arianna Skyla Holt, or Ash as she’s known by her friends, is a professional golf player but doesn’t have the support of her family and they see it as her just playing games but they are also trying to force her to be with Bennett who she has been on again and off again over seven years, but when she meets Flint Matthews, a NHL player, he convinces her that she deserves better, that would be him. The relationship is fiery and super hot. Flint treats Ash very well in a way that she has never been treated before, and their relationship develops over a week before. They decide that they are boyfriend and girlfriend. Her parents continually interfere with her relationship and even Bennett won’t take no for an answer and his stalkerish behaviour takes a dangerous turn, Flint is in danger, and then Ash develops health issues that is life-threatening. The storyline progresses where you don’t know what’s going to happen next, and I found myself sitting on the edge of my seat, wondering what was going to happen and how they were going to get out of it. I absolutely loved the interaction of all the characters in this story and how the story flowed with the right amount of angst and drama. There is a happy ending for this couple.
I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and I am reviewing with my honest and fair opinion.
This is a Great Sport romance. OMG!!! i 💓 this book. Love Ash and Flint. This is book 5, in the " Love of Games" series. Definitely, want to go back and read, ,them all. I just couldn't put it down, from page one I was definitely hook. This book made me cry, both broken, chemistry was off the charts, air of mystery, drama, pro golfer, ex violate relationship (who don't want it to be over), he's a pro baseball player, sparks fly (when they meet) , he runs interference (with her parents and ex boyfriend), characters are well written, more than fake dating story, bring out the best in each other, emotional rollercoaster ride, Will make you speak less, next frustrating, off the chart chemistry, humor, turns her life upside down, wants someone to support her in her career, witty, banter, love, passion, pain, drama, heartbreaking, heartfelt moments, tragedy, secrets, second chances, sets the sheets on fire, uncaring parents, HEA, and more. This book is d Definitely, on my Must Reread list. 💓 it.
- Sports romance - Cinnamon roll MMC - Instant attraction - He falls first
This book was an emotional roller coaster of a ride. Although both main characters are successful in their respective sports careers, neither have had an easy road to the top. Flint has beat the odds by recovering from a very serious car accident. Ash has had a heartbreaking past and has had to deal with a less than supportive family.
The two are neighbors, but really only got to know one another when they meet up again in Hawaii - Ash is there because of a golf tournament and Flint is meeting his sister Ava, also a golfer. The attraction Flint feels is more than he has felt for anyone in a very long time. Ash has recently ended a long term toxic relationship and is looking for something more fun.
However, the road to happiness is rarely a smooth one, as our couple finds out. I absolutely flew through this book, it was that good!
Such a great story! Flint & Ash were perfect for each other. They both have a past full of drama that they can’t get past, well until they met one another. Flint has had enough of clinging women and jealously of his job that he had no intention of getting mixed up with anyone else or so he thought, until he met Ash. Ash, doing her best to become the best golfer she could not only battled the sport but her boyfriend and family. No one thought her career was something that she should be doing and didn’t support her the way she needed them to. So, she faced it on her own. Flint and Ash meet again when Flint shows up in Hawaii showing support for his sister who is on the women’s gold tour. These two have the same past in a sense and that is why they are perfect for one another.
This is one of the best books I've read this year!!!! The emotional connection that Flint and Ash have is so beautiful. Through all the trauma, tragedy and negativity that they each have suffered through have made them the perfect person for each other. This story and their background stories are so poignant that your heart will not be left untouched. And just a heads up...Ash's mother is truly evil and Flint is a great book boyfriend. Although I still gave the book five stars, I was a little disappointed with the ending. Don't get me wrong, they got their HEA, but I wish they had been given a little bit more happiness. You'll love it either way so please read this book.
Why oh why do I discover amazing authors and fantastic book series when it’s the last book?!! Because if you follow me, you know I LOVE my series and yes I will go back and devour every brilliant word C.R. Riley has written, because she got me hooked with Catcher’s Interference!
Meet Flint and Arianna, believe me you won’t regret it. This book is a page turner with some tough issues and a nasty Ex, but you know Flint won’t give up. Lucky Arianna!!
I got totally engrossed in this story. I hated to put it down to sleep. Excellent story line and not the same old drama and then the HEA. Both hero and heroine had problems they had to deal with to be able to understand and complete each other in a relationship. I so enjoyed this story and didn't want it end.
OMG, this book made me want to cry. Ash and Flint were both broken individuals. Each one had a story to tell that they really hadn't shared with a lot of people. Their chemistry was off the hook, and with their pasts, it was a great story. There was an air of mystery with it when it came to Ash;'s parents, but it added so much to the story.
