A short book with a lot going on: small town, interesting characters, mystery, and romance! When Ivy scores big at an auction, she is faced with several boxes of dirty, cat hair covered treasures. Greatest treasure of all is a wind up clock from the 1920's. She cleans it up and discovers it's not functional. Simultaneously, she hears someone at the back shop door where she had left a heavy dresser also purchased at the sale. Frantically, she stops the person from stealing the dresser only to discover it's the garbage man who thought it was trash. From there it's one exciting thing after another as Ivy gets to know Luke, the trash man. For such a short story there's a lot of action and excitement! Fast paced and engaging small town delight.
"Trashy Romance" was a funny uplifting read. The title is deceiving because it isn't a smutty book. It is a play on words. :) Ivy runs her grandma's antique business that was left to her when her grandmother died. And Luke is the local garbage man and they are thrown together when he accidentally tries to throw away her antiques. I love the clean romance and the fun quick read. It has a small part mystery, and I really enjoyed reading it. I would recommend this book and any book that Andrea Kate Pearson writes. Great author!!
This is such a fun sweet romance. This short story had me laughing and smiling while reading. Jennie wants to keep young people in their small town, so she is trying to play matchmaker. And her first couple is Ivy and Luke, they both live in the small town but don’t know each other. When they meet the fun begins, a little suspense as they try to investigate the city. Sweet swoony kisses and overall, just a fun, quick read!
Trashy Romance by Andrea Kate Pearson. (Clean Love in Dry Creek Book 1).
This is a fluffy clean small town insta-love romance short story and the beginning of a series. It is fun to read and uncomplicated. There is a bit of mystery and mischief. The title is a play on words as the main character Ivy is the owner of an antique store and she has to sort through a lot of trash in order to find her inventory at estate sales etc. A fun read. 3 stars.
How many Facebook memes can you fit into one chapter?? It was a bit too much. I think the author was trying to be funny but it was just annoying. I got this free on a one day deal of freebies on Amazon. It is clean, like it promises to be, so it gets 3 stars from me. It was just too over the top for me. DNF.
I got this on a Stuff Your Kindle day. It was a cute, but very short, story. It was the perfect read on vacation when the rest of the house went to bed.
I absolutely loved Ivy and Luke’s entertaining story with its quirky cast of characters and the indomitable Mrs Farnsworth who was the master matchmaker let loose on the unsuspecting town of Dry Creek!! Plus Ivy’s best friend Jennie who was a willing assistant. With the mystery of a hidden basement and tunnel system below Ivy's antique store to be explored, Ivy and Luke encounter several major problems as they explore their own budding new relationship. A short and delightful rom-com that l read in a single evening that l highly recommend to fellow rom-com fans. I look forward to future stories in the Dry Creek series to see who else Mrs Farnsworth and Jennie have in their sights.
