The halfway point of the Beachouse Studios saga sees Dan and Ry up against a dangerous new enemy in a battle for their lives - and their souls.
Ry Thompson is in the doghouse.
In the wake of Chicago, Ry is more distrusted by Dan Sebring than ever before. Concerned that Ry has become a liability to his mysterious goals, Dan refuses to allow Ry to help deal with the fallout. As Dan makes moves that Ry believes endanger him, Ry turns to a new source of help - a charming, enigmatic man calling himself “Samael.” Delighted to help, Samael asks only for Ry’s time in return.
Dan is pulled in a million directions, plagued by own doubts about his mission and his complicated home life even as his studio teeters on the verge of crisis. Tim’s engagement challenges everything he believes about himself. Emily forms a strange new alliance to pursue her investigation. With everyone distracted and with no one to turn to for help, Ry finds himself lured deeper and deeper down Samael’s twisted path. When Samael slowly begins to reveal darker and more demented intentions, Ry finds himself more isolated than ever before.
The end of Samael’s path is Ry’s baptism by blood. If Ry and Dan want to stop it, they need to face hard truths about each other - and themselves.
Charles W. Rogers (sometimes C. W. Rogers) is an LA-based writer and podcaster. He is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in "Dramatic Writing," which is just a fancy way to say he spent too much money on coffee while writing scripts for four years. When not writing, he is a co-host of the Star Wars tv analysis podcast "Gold Squadron Gays" and a cast member of the TTRPG podcast "For Light And Dice".
When he is not writing or grumbling into a microphone about Star Wars, Charles spends his time bothering his cat Jonathan Harker with random history facts he read and replaying the Dragon Age games.
Threesome, the third book in CW Roger's Beachouse studio series, blows the saga open in a truly wild way. What began two books ago as a story about messy porn actors who make bad decisions has transformed into a full blown thriller that had me on my toes the entire time.
I can't say much, because this series is better experienced knowing nothing going into it, but Roger's signature ability to keep you in the dark about where the plot is going while simultaneously ensuring you're entertained is on full display. I did not realize how firmly entrenched in my heart these flawed characters were until their lives were on the line.
Three books in, Beachouse Studios is proving to be an endlessly creative series that left me begging for the next installment!
