Feral and violent, I've just accidentally abducted this growly alien gladiator!
I'm probably the galaxy's worst bounty hunter, but I swear on my life, my tech told me the unconscious male I found was my mark. Now I have a very, very angry Gryn gladiator in my hold who shouldn't be there and I don't know what to do with him.
Once he's calmed to a mere simmer, Klynn demonstrates his ability to escape from any where he pleases and I have no option but to strike a deal if I don't want to wake up with a Gryn attempting to eat me alive.
Although, as scarred as Klynn might be, he has abs for days, a dangerous handsome face and a way of looking at me which heats my core and chills my blood at the same time. The eating part might end up being entirely voluntary.
But our deal means nothing when we're abducted together by another set of aliens who want him to make a baby with me...or we both die.
This wasn't what I was expecting when I embarked on my new career, and, as it turns out, Klynn has even less experience in the baby making department than I do.
Which means it's down to me to teach him the ropes. Not what I signed on for, but a challenge I'm ready to accept...to save my life and his...
Hooded is the finale in the Gladiators of the Gryn series from USA TODAY Bestselling Author Hattie Jacks. Featuring only one cell, forced proximity, an 'inexperienced' MMC who is keen to learn, and a sassy, smart FMC who is willing to teach him all she knows, Hooded is a rollercoaster ride you're never going to want to get off. So sit down, strap in and get ready to be carried away to the stars!
3.5 stars I really enjoyed the first half of the book and the whole “worst bounty hunter ever” thing. That’s exactly the kind of bounty hunter I would be tbh. Their meeting was interesting and unique. Also enjoyed how feral Klynn was. I felt like the tie in to the rest of the Gryn universe was kinda rushed though.

Seeing our young, it was…real. It was beautiful. It was something I didn’t expect to ever see,- he rasps. -I thought my time was going to be all about the violence. That I would fight until I died. I could not foresee an occasion where I would come face to face with my young.
✨ “The stars are yours, my mate. Just ask me and I will pluck them from the sky for you.” ~~~ Fern is so awesome! She’s smart, brave, resilient and fierce. Even more, she’s very kind, caring and compassionate. After being taken from Earth, Fern might not be the best bounty hunter in the galaxy, but she really tries her best. Even more, I loved her courage and strength to face any challenges and hardships thrown her way. Fern is a wonderful woman and I loved her so, so much!
And then, there’s Klynn! This Gryn gladiator is feral, growly and very, very angry. Klynn is violent, dangerous, fearsome, powerful and has the ability to escape from anywhere he pleases. Klynn is not a male to be messed with. But there’s more to him than meets the eye, too. Because Klynn is also honorable, loyal, caring, fiercely protective and deliciously dominant and possessive. This Gryn gladiator is one utterly irresistible male and I couldn’t help but adore every single thing about him!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Fern and Klynn! Fern is on Trefa to get a mark, but due to some technical issues, she captures the wrong alien. And now she has a huge, feral and very angry Gryn on her hands. I adored those two together! Their chemistry was fantastic and their banters and bickerings were a delight to read. Klynn and Fern also made an amazing team, together facing the dangers thrown their way. And I really loved how supportive and protective they were of each other. Even more, even though Klynn might’ve not expected to ever have a mate and might not have any experience with females, this Gryn gladiator is definitely a fast and eager learner and I couldn’t get enough of not only of the passionate moments he and Fern shared, but also of the adorably “nesty” ones. Fern and Klynn were so perfect for each other and, after everything they went through, they absolutely deserved to find happiness and love together!
In addition, the storyline was phenomenal! So much is happening in this story and things are coming to an end in one final and long-awaited battle. Danger and enemies are everywhere, but the Gryn prove time and again that nothing can stand in their way. They will face every challenge head-on, will overcome every obstacle and will emerge victorious. And, yes, I DO want a Beebie, too! With everything happening, I was glued to the pages till the very end, excited to see how everything will be resolved.
Overall, the story is another thrilling addition to the series and a spectacular series finale! It’s filled with danger, non-stop action, twists, suspense, drama, humor, smoking-hot passion and incredible characters.
I couldn’t put it down and absolutely loved every single page of it!
Gleeful Goblin Review: Gleeful Goblin Review: I'm so in love with this series. Each of the couples have been delightfully different and I especially enjoyed this one because Fern the FMC feels so authentic and relatable with her mix of bravado, imposter syndrome, anxiety, and fierce independence. Plus, I very badly want her pet/companion Beebie so I too can galavant across the galaxy as a bounty hunter/merc.
Fern is a great foil for our Grynn gladiator Klynn. He is a growly, surly goober who at the start is absolutely set on never pairing off like he's seen his friends so. But of course, he's wrong or we wouldn't have this book! “Please eat,” she says to me, her eyes strangely watery. “And please don’t make me use the immobilizer foam again.” “And if I eat, you won’t use it?” “Unless you try to escape,” she says, her gaze hardening. “I will use it to stop you from hurting yourself.” “Or getting to you,” I growl, leaning closer to the viewing window and baring my teeth. She doesn’t concede any ground, despite the fact I’m considerably larger than her. I lift my head and scent the air. The window itself is simply part of the wall which can become transparent at will, so her smell has to be on the food she has sent in for me. Which means she obtained it herself, and there’s no automatic feeding function here, like other places I’ve been kept in. This little fury has no option but to tend to me while I’m in here. She is as much a captive as I am, and she has to keep me alive. “You won’t get to me,” she says. “I had these built to withstand space worms should any client want them captured. You’re in here for the duration.” I can’t help admiring her confidence. However, for the time being, I have an appearance to keep up. I give her a snarl which used to make my opponents in the dome quake, and I push back from the viewing window, stalkíng the few paces to the food she has provided. I am ravenous. The Bogarok were inedible and there was nothing left in the rest of the undercroft to eat. Even the pikrats had vacated. My stomach twists, wanting the food and wanting me to temper my enjoyment or it will revolt. “Is it okay?” the female asks. “I can get you something else if you don’t like it.” She really means it. She wants to keep me happy. Fun…it’s a new concept to me…but it absolutely seems like this could be…fun."
This is a great little space adventure love story and I had a great time with it. 5/5 Stars.

I love the Gryn! And Hooded was one of my favorites
We've come to end end of this arc in the series. Klynn is the last of the Gladiator Gryn and the most traumatized his rage and willingness to fight is beyond measure. In the !act book Maxyim tired to save Klynn and dumped him in an underground tunnel as the Dome was being attacked. When he wakes he begins taking down any enemies he finds. What he doesn't count t on is a beautiful and smart human female bounty hunter who get the better of him and take him off world. Fern was taken fro. Earth so !omg ago and she's fought to learn about the universe she's finds herself in. She's a bounty hunter and a pilot who has done well for herself but her lasts mission has got her stuck on a terrible planet trying to find her mark what she finds instead is a job gain of muscle Gryn gladiator. What can she do does she take a chance and trust him or does she drop him at the first space station? Klynn has other ideas the MI Ute he scented her he knew she was his forever mate the other half of his soul . he was going to do whatever it takes to keep her safe, and make her his mate. He just needs to convince Fern that she belongs to him. While figuring out their relationship their captured by pirates, escape and end up kidnapped by a brain worm computer that want to use the Gryn as his personal army! Can these two find safety, explore their relationship, find love and a forever home? You have got to read and find out you won't be disappointed. Its an excellent end to this Arc and I'm hopping its not that last we've seen of the Gryn I love them too much and I already miss them!! Highly recommend💖🔥🌟🔥💖🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥🌟
Maybe I'm just over the series, but this one fell flat for me. It starts off interesting with Fern, a bounty hunter, accidentally kidnapping the wrong target, but it just falls flat after that. They barely talk or even get to know each other and then BOOM, they get kidnapped and forced to mate. You'd think that would cause them to bond or there would be issues with consent etc. but they don't seem to mind much at all and she's totally down with him impregnating her.
Next we have the smut. I LOVE scifi smut it can be super hot but this was just meh. He's supposed to be completely inexperienced but he's also a sex god who gives her 5 orgasms in a row? the writing for the smut was also not very detailed, it's more of "he thrusted, she felt full, he made her cum" kind of deal and I was looking for detailed, spicy scenes.
Also, I just didn't get the romance here, it sounds interesting that we have a sexually experienced heroine and a virgin MMC, but they really don't have any chemistry and it all feels forced. Like they barely even had full conversations before she's in love with him?? All I learned about the heroine was that she has red hair and isn't super great at her job. it was a DNF for me.
I am going to miss this wonderful series. I love reading about the Gryn and finding their mates. And when it involves Gyrn who are broken -even better yet. I liked Fern and her "sidekick" Beebie. Loved his surprises. Her "occupation" wasn't what I expected. But she did get the job done. Loved her compassion and wit. Klynn, what can you say about probably the most damaged of the Gryn in the gladiator arena. Loved his form of fun and his special skill . An excellent twist to the story. "I riled her, and she responded with the most beautiful anger. A balm to my soul." I think that pretty much sums up Klynn. Loved the twists and suspense. Action from the first to delicious last page. POV of each. With a wrap up HEA for them and the rest of the Gryn . I hope in the future we will be able to hear more from the Gryn . I received a free copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.
An awesome conclusion to the Gladiators of the Gryn. In the previous story, Klynn was dropped down a shaft by Maxym when the dome is attacked by Bogarok who was sent to collect all the Gryn they could find. They don’t account for how feral Klynn is and his determination to take out before he ends. Fern is a human bounty hunter and is after a mark who is wanted by her boss. She mistakenly grabs Klynn but when she discovers her mistake, he has already recognised her as his Eregri. A lot certainly happens in this story, they are set upon by pirates and forced to mate and managed to escape, then rescued by other Gryn and finally make it to his home planet where they live happily ever after with their child, named proceeding to create a second one.
I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and I am reviewing with my honest and fair opinion.
Fern is the galaxy's worst bounty hunter. Relying on her tech to secure her "mark" she unwittingly procured the wrong alien. Even worse? It is a feral Gryn Gladiator. What could possibly go wrong?
Fern and Klynn were so good for each other and rather comical at times especially with her being able to abduct Klynn without incident.
These two had their obstacles to overcome. Klynn being scarred and damaged but fierce, protective and loyal and Fern being a survivor and doing all she can to stay alive in a galaxy far from home.
This was a fitting ending to the Gladiators of the Gryn series with all of our fierce, feral gladiators finding their eregri and getting their much-deserved HEA>
"I worship you, my little fury. You are the stars which give life and the nebula which nurtures”
Klynn, our feral gladiator, meets his match when his mate Fern steals him away from the dome thinking he is her charge for her bounty hunting job. She quickly realizes her mistake, and then they are thrown together. There is a lot of unpacking in this book to help finish the story of the Gryn that we have seen in the gladiator dome. However, they quickly choose each other and they both fight for each other as much as they can. The 🌶️ scenes start early on…. And we are here for it 🥵
Cannot wait to see what Hattie comes up with next!
Hattie Jack’s Gladiators of the Gryn series book 5 is Hooded. Fern is a new human who has become a bounty hunter, arriving just as all hell breaks out at the coliseum. She nabs what she thinks is her mark, but the tech made a mistake and she winds up with gladiator Gryn Klynn who immediately realizes she’s his mate! Captured by bad guys they are forced to mate which neither is upset about as the attraction is there. Luckily, they escape and eventually meet up with other Gryn in time to kill the monster that had enslaved them all. Fern is a badass, fighting even while heavily preggers! Love this series!
It breaks my heart when a series comes to an end. Well, for now at least.
Fern is an amazing strong female. Sometimes she not the sharpest knife in the block though. Her unfortunate encounter with a Gryn warrior, Klynn, was the last thing she needed. Fate though works in mysterious ways. Their survival becomes first and foremost their top priority.
Reading their story was intense and challenging to say the least. Her stubborn nature prevailed in her pursuit to locate Klynn. The icing on the cake though is all the other warriors making an appearance too. The banter between them is👌
This was a thrilling addition to the series and a fab finale. Fern is a newly minted bounty hunter and she grabs the wrong mark. Oops! Klynn is rather feral and filled with fury; yet he's also loyal and protective...and knows Fern is his mate. When they get captured and expected to mate, well their hot chemistry sure helped them out ;P With a ton of action, danger, suspense, twists, humour and hot spice, this was engaging and a high octane reading ride. I loved it and definitely look forward to what's next by this author :D
If you read the other books in this series you know that Klynn is the most unhinged of all the Gladiators When he meets Fern all bets are off Let the excitement begin with some twists and turns you didn’t expect and answers to some questions you had throughout the series Hattie never disappoints with her action and love scenes of the Gryn when they find their mates It is beautiful and keeps you hoping for a HEA You get that and so much more in this last book of the series Hattie keep creating these awesome worlds and characters You are awesome
Klynn has had it rough time of it. They keep getting worse. Mistakenly taken by Fern, the Human Bounty Hunter, who's not really good at it, but she manages taking a huge Gryn Gladiator onto her ship and survive the Collapse of the Area where the huge bug like invaders blast it. There is so much that happens from there, but I will tell you that if you've read the series so far, you will be crazy in love with these two. The greatest HEA, for the series. I highly recommend this. So flippin good!😍🤗
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hooded is a wild, spicy, and surprisingly sweet finale to the Gladiators of the Gryn series. When a rookie bounty hunter accidentally kidnaps a deadly Gryn gladiator, chaos (and chemistry) follows fast. Klynn is dangerous, inexperienced, and unexpectedly endearing, while the heroine is sharp, bold, and totally up for the challenge, especially when survival depends on some very steamy teamwork. The forced proximity, high-stakes abduction twist, and slow-burning bond make this an addictive read with just the right mix of heat and heart. A perfect sendoff for the series.
This was a wonderful ending to a fantastic series. I will miss these guys for sure! Hopefully they will appear some time again in the future if Ms. Jacks has the notion. All of her guys whether Gryn, Sarkarnii, Haalux, Remek or what have you are special, funny, whimsical yet warrior strong beings that any gal would love to know. Looking forward to Hattie’s next adventures,
I liked Klynn and Fern’s story. Fern is a bounty hunter who mistakes Klynn for her target and ends up rescuing him from the under attack dome. Of course they’re mates and after getting captured by pirates, have to cement the mate bond. They escape and eventually wind up with the Elite team and Mylo to destroy Proto. It was fun seeing the rest of the team come back and how Klynn responded to Fern throughout. Good end to the series though I wish he had reconnected with the other gladiators.
I thoroughly loved this series! The Gladiator characters were fantastic MCs, and the female leads were impressively strong and sassy. I was sad to see the series come to an end, but I'm eagerly anticipating Ms. Jacks' next project and the opportunity to dive into a new world she's created.
This one book should be a 3.5 only for the ending. The true series ending is in the extra that can be downloaded from book funnel by signing up to newsletter. Even if you have the newsletter go through motions to get the true ending. It gives us a rap up of this GRYN sub series and of the 2 previous GRYN series.
Well, I thought the book was ok The main characters were suited for each other. I liked Fern best as she has some serious smarts and a backbone that made her one tough chick ! Her mate , A Grynn, was kind of dull but he more than made up for it with his willingness to do everything, and then some, to protect his mate. What a guy !
Any book about Gryn is good. Fern was destined for Klynn because he needed her. Of course even if you're destined doesn't mean it's easy. Wonderful ending. Be sure to read the bonus. Enjoy
Fern is a bounty hunter, maybe not the best, but she is fierce and dedicated. Klynn is a gladiator who loves to fight. The fact that she mistook him as her mark, lead the two of them into a world of trouble. There’s danger, tension and betrayal. An exciting read!
I loved every book in this series. The characters were really interesting. The stories were pretty awesome. I was glad the ending went the way it did. It was the perfect finish.
Love the world and her take on the alien species Gryn…this was a light, fun foray into another world. Loved the whole series of Gladiators of the Gryn…onto her next series about the Elite Gryn…
Fern is the best mate for Klynn, and she has her work cut out for her, but he's definitely worth the trouble, and she's a smart cookie. The ending was a bit rushed, but the Gryn Council scene was funny, not going into spoilers, read it for yourself.
What a conclusion! A thrilling ride from start to finnish. I want a Beebie <3. Visiting the Grynn homeworld, meeting familiar faces,... Perfect ending to this part.
