Heads-Up Dreaming: How Your Dreams Can Predict Your Future and Change Your Life

Rate this book
A scientist shows us that we all have the biological capability to reduce uncertainty in our lives…

HeadsUp Dreaming is a book about Dr. Smith's personal discovery of the ability to have dreams that seem to portray future waking events. While other writers have noted this before, what makes Smith's book unique is his thorough overview of the nature and characteristics of these kinds of dreams and how they differ from more ordinary ones.

Through his research, he has discovered that people he knows (family, friends, and students) can also access "headsup" dreams, suggesting this is a normal biological activity. Although it is an activity that appears to defy the rules of classical physics, it does not violate the rules of quantum physics. While some folks may be more accomplished at it than others - for example, he describes the dreams of one very talented individual who uses her dreams to guide her medical practice - it is an exercise available to all of us.

Some of our most important decisions including choosing a life partner, buying homes or cars, changing jobs, are often made with partial information under considerable stress, using emotional rather than logical thinking. With Smith's process as a guide, you have the ability to eliminate some of life's uncertainty by interpreting your headsup dreams - some or all of them will most likely have a thing or two to do with major decisions. In his experience, he's found these unique dreams often arrive in a timely manner and are typically neutral or positive. With this in mind, anyone concerned with only receiving negative predictions, should rest assured.

HeadsUp Dreaming can teach anyone the basic ability to recognize headsup dreams and to use them as a guide for making some of life's important decisions.

I won a copy of "Heads-Up Dreaming" (How Your Dreams Can Predict Your Future and Change Your Life), by Carlyle T. Smith, PhD, through the Goodreads Giveaway Contest.

In this book Dr. Smith , a neuroscientist, researcher and professor has decided to publically describe his experiences, in the field of "Heads-Up Dreaming"...using dreams for practical direction, thereby reducing uncertainty in our lives. This is a book about his discovery and documentation of his work, as a means to guiding him to make the best future decisions based on his past dreams...and this process can work for you. This process can teach anyone the basic ability to recognize heads-up dreams and to use them as a guide for making some of life's important decisions.

One of man's greatest unsolved problems is the mystery of dreams. From the very earliest of times man has tried to analyze dreams and has tried to explain them. But what is a dream?

The great English Romantic poet William Wordsworth said that "this life we live is merely a dream and that we will 'awake' to the 'real' reality when we die, when our 'dream' ends."

All human beings dream, although some people cannot remember. Some dreams can warn of impending danger or even prepare us for sudden over-whelming good news. These messages are given in symbolic terms and have to be interpreted skillfully and with intelligence. Unfortunately too many people end up wasting valuable time and money consulting fake mediums and dream-interpreters.

Most people understand that dreams are unlikely to predict the future but that doesn’t prevent them from finding meaning in their dreams.

I recognize that this novel, will not appeal to the masses, the research will not be understood, but for those that wish to have an open-mind, this book is very thought-provoking. As someone who suffers from sleep apnea, and has to visit the sleep lab yearly, I welcomed the concept. I do dream frequently and usually remember my dreams. I also have found that some of my "disturbing dreams", have shown up in some form later.

Thank you Dr. Smith for allowing me to read your novel.

I won a copy of this book through a Goodreads Giveaway.

I am happy to see that more and more professionals are seeing and sharing the importance of our dreams, and the messages we might be receiving from them.

Dr. Carlyle Smith has been "Heads- Up" dreaming for many decades, and has offered up details of his personal findings, as well as the experiences from friends, family, and colleagues.

I found the information in this book very insightful and inspiring. The author has made it clear that it DOES take time and effort to begin the "Heads-Up" path, but he offers some great tips on how to get started. Those who are interested in this type of dreaming my find that the effort may be very rewarding.

I am thankful to Dr. Smith for offering sharing his experiences.

In the past, I didn’t think dreams might have any influence on my life. I have a dream dictionary lying somewhere in my room, but I seldom take a look at it. After reading Heads-Up Dreaming: How Your Dreams Can Predict Your Future and Change Your Life, I would like to explore more of my dreams. This is a very well-written book.
I received a complimentary copy from the author through the Goodreads First-reads program. I'm happy to have won this fascinating book!
