Svein Tour de France stage winner, wearer of the pink jersey at the Giro d’Italia, world championships medallist, Olympian, and one of Canada’s most decorated pro cyclists.
But that’s only half the story.
Before turning pro at 31, Svein lived an epic adventure in the great wildernesses of the Pacific Northwest. It was a life of death-defying mountain expeditions, boxcar-riding escapades and close encounters with wild animals. For much of it, he was accompanied by his beloved dog, Bear.
This is Svein's autobiography. One of sport’s great untold stories, it is about a singular athlete who was forged by a remarkable journey that has given him a unique perspective on life and professional sport.
An inspirational adventure story and a candid sports memoir, We Will Be Here Again is the story of one man’s quest to find identity and purpose, and about how he got to the top without forgetting to admire the view along the way.
I knew this would be a great book. But it was even better than I expected! I know Svein and can attest that how he comes across in the book is how he is in life. Truly an excellent book.
This was a great biography. Genuine and a little rough around the edges. A normal dude with an awesome story and route in life. Makes me want to go out and adventure and live an honest, fulfilling life too
This book makes me wanna put my head down and run through a brick wall. Holy shit I loved it so much. I won’t try to describe Svein as a person because that would probably only irritate him. However, I can say that this book motivated me and gave me a little bit of my spark back. Bikepacking, train hopping, and racing in the Tour de France. What a life.
I read this before the Tour. Svein really makes a point on staying grounded and connecting with nature something I relate to, between races and training etc regularing nervous system is so important
