Love. Vengeance. Redemption. The West has never been tamed—and neither has Clint Forman.
After the Civil War, Clint Forman was ready to rebuild his life. But fate had other plans. His sister, long presumed dead, is alive and in danger. She needs his help immediately. Clint sets out for San Antonio, and he walks straight into a storm of corruption and violence. At Anna’s ranch, he meets Sally, a fierce, self-reliant woman who’s not about to let some broken war hero take over her land. Sparks fly, but so do bullets. The town is under siege by a ruthless gang, their leader hell-bent on revenge against Clint. Will he finally put his demons to rest, or will the war inside him never end?

Clint's Reckoning was another exceptional page turner from E.J. West
While I loved the chemistry between Anna and Roy as well as that between Sally and Clint, the surprise romance between Linda and Barry was so awesome. There were moments of fear, joy, anticipation and suspense throughout the entire book and I literally read the whole thing, finishing just in time to get ready for church this morning. I thought this was the perfect Memorial Day weekend read.
After the Civil War, Clint Forman walked from Savannah, Georgia to Canyon Valley, Texas to find his Ma and Pa had been murdered, his sister abducted and his ranch burned to the ground. The story evolves from the helplessness and desperation he feels before coming out of his sorrow to become a better man than he was before the war. A good read on building belief in family and trust in community.
This was a good book. The only thing I have against it was how passive Clint and Roy were as males. They should have been more out going. Sally and Annie were more outgoing. A male should lead in this type of western. Clint’s Civil War action should have carried the first third of the book not his drinking.
This was an absolutely amazing storyline from page one to the fantastic happy ending! Tons of action and suspense filled with pure love along the way. Great Author and Western Romance, exactly the way I love them to be!! You keep writing them and I will read them all!!
