I haven’t read all of the books in this series, yet, (but I will) and was pleased that the author included enough back story about ALIAS as well as previous characters so that I never felt lost. Now, WHAT A RIDE! From the beginning pages to the thrilling end, the love story of Zara Cooper and Jake Brown began when they spent one amazing night together. Would she ever see him again? Zara had opened her public relations firm in Washington D.C. and was asked to assist with some PR cases for ALIAS (aka Adams-Larsen Inc and Associates). At a meeting at their firm, she realizes that they also deal with security for high priority clients and Jake, her Jake, is one of their security officers. When she is asked to help promote a congressman who is planning a run for higher office, she soon feels uneasy in his company. Jake is also concerned about the congressman, but Zara assures him that she can handle the job. Concerns about her clients’ possible ties to a foreign government soon give her pause for even further alarm, but ALIAS and Jake will have her back. He doesn’t expect to see his one night stand again but she works for the same company he does. Zara has a new client that is a tech billionaire and aspires to move up in the political scene. When Zara sees something she shouldn’t, her life is in danger. Jake is assigned as her bodyguard because he will not let anyone else protect her. Jake never thought a relationship was for him but he might have found the woman for him. Jake will do whatever it takes to keep Zara safe.

I was lucky enough to receive this book through a Goodreads giveaway. This book absolutely exceeded my expectations. The main characters have excellent chemistry, and the end is an absolute edge of your seat thrill ride! I have not read others in this series but will absolutely be looking into them!

Everyone has secrets, but Jake has more than most. He and Zara work for the same company. But as she works promoting the public side, Jake is behind the scenes few are privy too. When Zara is in danger from a shady politician, secrets are revealed in this fast paced, suspense filled ride. Both are strong characters determined to do the right thing to protect the weak. Attention grabbing story.

A great story

The story is well written, with mystery, suspense, action and romance. The characters are believable and likable.

I really enjoyed the different dynamics in the story with its non-stop, edge of your seat suspense.
