As an addition to the series it's ok, by itself not so much. Style, plot, character development are seriously lacking. Since I'm still suffering DTs I loved this BatB fix.
This had all the action, excitement, intrigue and romance that I came to love in the tv series. Vincent, Cat, Tess, JT, and Heather all are involved in the quest to seek out the new 'evolved' beast who is killing people. Two different factions are working against each other to find the 'beast' and put a stop to the killings....one group to see it permanently killed, while the other is eager to restrain the beast and keep up with their 'experimentation'.
In the end, the faction who sets out to see this new, terrifying, murderous beast, upon which Vincent, Cat, and the others have fallen into an uneasy working relationship...wins out over the other faction...
Another good adventure with Vincent and Catherine. Much like the first book, it was very authentic to the characters and the story, but I did find myself wanting more resolve at the end. I will be interested to see if any of the open ended questions are concluded in the 3rd book.

This is the first tie-in novel for the hit television series: “Beauty & The Beast”. If you are unfamiliar with the show and just picked up the book because of Vincent and Catherine you are going to like this book. If you have been watching the show this book reads as if it was another episode, just with a better budget. There are two cases going on or are there? Lots of questions, a mysterious organization and lots of danger. This is one super exciting book. Ms. Holder has given us a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat, flipping pages as fast as you can read them just trying to keep up with a runaway roller coaster ride story. “Beauty & The Beast – Some Gave All” is the perfect read to get your adrenalin going and root for Vincent and Catherine to figure out their respective cases and bring about justice. Beauty & The Beast – Some Gave All” Book Two in the Beauty & The Beast series by author Nancy Holder, “ published by Titan Books brings us more Beast Adventures and more Romance.
NYPD Detective Catherine Chandler "Beauty" is trying to solve the murder of seven people but the only witness is a young girl who is so traumatized she can't speak. Vincent Keller "the Beast" is on a mission to help a family member of a fellow Soldier who went missing in Afghanistan and was also experimented on. He vows to help solve the mystery.
Just like in the first book certain scenes with characters were very emotionally sterile. Not really going into detail about how they were feeling or why. But it wasn't as bad as the first book when it came to that. Also, there are certain events that happened to characters that never occurred in the TV show. That would change certain things about that character. The book leaves certain things open for another story hopefully that's part of book 3 but if not it would be very disappointing. Something tells me that that's going to be the case.
There are more romantic moments with Catherine and Vincent so you definitely get that connection between them emotionally even though it's not as much as I would like. The plot is better than the last book. I was definitely gripped by what was happening and it was easy to follow yet intricate enough that it did not bore me. You will enjoy the side story with Heather, it ends up breaking the tension. I will say that the author captured her character quite well.
My closing thoughts this book is good if you're interested in light science fiction Romance and Beauty and the Beast reimagining. I would definitely recommend it. Also if your a lover of the TV show like myself it definitely gives you a little extra if you miss it.
This one was a lot better than the first one. I love these books because they add something extra to my favorite TV show and my current obsession. I can't wait for the next one! At least I have season three to keep me company while I wait. :) <3 Vincent & Catherine! <3
I liked all the action and thought the plot was pretty cool. However I have to say that story could have used more Vincent and Catherine, but besides that, I enjoyed this book.
