2/11/25 🤷🏻♀️ did I add an English version just so my notes wouldn't be cut off? Yes, yes I did. 😇
What was impressive was out of like 850 chapters, I don't think I ever skimmed a single one, and there were only one or two that annoyed me - that's ... dude. However, stuff did kinda [ugh] unfortunately taper off in the end. Plus the romance fell off too [hard not to when they're separated for eight years then he pops up for just like three days then the book ends...] - BASICALLY. Well, maybe half a month? They travel up north...
ANYWAY. A delightful read that I'd even recommend despite the word salad MTL/MDN translation I read. I can't remember who the alleged cast is now, which might be for the best. Oh wait- Meng ZiYi and Ryan Ding? I can't see it. It was lowkey reverse harem but not.
I DID get annoyed with the "oh ML and FL don't have any equals" - WELL THEN WHY THE FUCK DID THEY KEEP TAKING LOSSES? Although not big ones - what annoyed me MOST was the supposed "benevolence" of FL - "oh I'm not going to eliminate/handle this insignificant person" - only said "insignificant person" would then create waves that would result in deaths of 8-100s if not thousands of people dying. So ... WTAF.
That whole mind control/hypnotism thing was super annoying too. Blergh.
HOWEVER those are just minor complaints compared to 800+ chapters of a really enjoyable read. Even when I was frustrated I was engaged and pulling for our main characters. Loved how complex all the goods were. Or even ones that were "bad" weren't all bad.
Definite A- at least [though I wouldn't say AMAZING so as of now not 5 stars...]

it’s semi fantasy, so if you’re ok with that..this is pretty good. i mean i finish all 845 chapters, so that’s something! man i hate that the live adaptation didn’t do any justice to the wits and schemes of both leads! those were the best parts! also the fl is just magnificent..like why am i pining for the fl, instead of the ml lol..but the ml in this novel is really one of a kind..he’s everything i could ever wish for in a ml, hope to see more of these mls in other novels too
