Who needs fireballs when you’ve got fancy handwriting?

Ben thought Cerebral VR would be the perfect escape from his dead-end life. Instead, he wakes up inside a merciless fantasy world with no starting class, no gear, and a seemingly useless calligraphy skill.

When an impossibly powerful item falls into his lap, Ben goes from underpowered to hunted by the most dangerous players in the Wylds.

With gods, monsters, and rival players closing in, Ben's only hope for survival is clever problem solving, powerful gear, and relentless progression.

The Wylds Online Omnibus collects Books 1–3 in a complete LitRPG adventure featuring progression-driven leveling, tactical combat, escalating stakes, and a weak-to-strong journey where every choice matters.

Perfect for fans of He Who Fights with Monsters, Awaken Online, and The Land.

About the author

H.G. Chambers

H.G. Chambers is a huge nerd. I mean, you should see this guy’s collection of Zelda, Star Wars, D&D, and Tolkien nonsense! He’s also written a few books, I’m told, though chances are they’re equally nerdy. So unless you’re fluent in Klingon and enjoy painfully drawn out conversations about obscure Elden Ring lore, maybe don’t ask what he’s into. Despite what should be a catastrophic social handicap, he’s managed to find an awesome wife and has two implausibly awesome kids (talk about beating the odds). H.G.C. lives out his pathetically nerdy life on Vancouver Island, Canada, where people are polite, and the geese are complete jerks. Seriously…don’t mess with the geese, they will end you.

Received this box set as an audio ARC from the author, this is an honest review. Breathtakingly narrated by the author himself; The adventurous series The Wylds Online comes to life. H.G. Chamber's exceptional and haunting performance of the darker and dangerous characters of Daedalus and the dragon Skadelig truly stands out.

The author behind the breathtaking, exhilarating Windwalker series is back to launch a brand new series in the litrpg genre. And whether you're a fan that consumes every book of this kind emerges or discovering the genre for the first time, The Wylds Online is going to provide you an addictive adventure that will make you hungry for more.

Cursed with a shitty job that only enables his bastard of a boss to humiliate Ben with a sick pleasure; leaves his love of gaming the only salvation in Ben's sad life. When his fellow work colleague and friend gets hold early access to a new immersive game from Halcyon corporation, Will convinces Ben to jump into the complete unknown as a part beta testers of the game. Plunged into the seriously realistic world The Wylds Online can offer, things get off to a rocky start for Ben and confirmed by Will once they meet up in the city of Corehaven that Ben is in for the not-so-typical role playing adventure. And understanding what it means to be a Runescribe... everything from finding a trainer to teach him how to master skills to survive to numerous quests that will test his bravery; at the very least Ben isn't facing dangerous zombies or a powerful necromancer alone. And his friend Will and any other ally that can be found will make this unfolding fantasy much more bearable.

Grab your extra lives and healing potions and step into an epic adventure you won't soon forget.

The trainee wheels of is this already expansive series come off and things become white hot as Ben, Will and Zoe finds themselves the hunted targets and are forced to endure the seriously unimaginable that an online gaming world and its players can throw at them. From the sadistic guild group called Fate that the how deep the bonds of friendship the trio has- and who they can trust. as the guild's twisted leader wants something and doesn't care how it has to be retrieved. And that's just the beginning of worldwind of quests, epic crazy battles that stretches their abilities and even their emotions of a virtual world becoming more harrowing the more the trio sees and experiences. Their choices will affect whatever comes to them, even if they don't know how.

We're only three books into this amazingly written series and the author keeps escalating the demands that face Ben, Zoe and Will - forcing them at every turn to have out smart their enemies, with dying in the game always close at hand.

And this time the trio's darkest enemy is no longer Daedalus and his crew that makes up the guild called Fate. The enemies that are coming out of the shadows are those anyone encounters should be careful of if they are ignored... you don't want to become target of these powerful individuals.

Of all of the secrets already revealed about this bizarre game world and the company at its heart... there's much more to come; especially considering Zoe, whom we already know has a story... and it's a profound tale indeed.

The ending of this book delivers an earthquake of a twist that raises so many questions of what the hell happened.

This box set that contains the first three books of this fiery litrpg adventure is highly recommended.

I have read and reviewed each book individually and I highly recommend this series to all who, like myself enjoy the LitRPG genre. Ben is really down on his luck, he is a loser in life, with no job and no family or girlfriend to come home to, however he has a friend, Will who got him a job which turned out to be just an embarrassment. But just when Ben was ready to give up on everything, Will wins tickets to be a beta player in the latest VR game called The Wylds Online, and he could take a friend. Ben nearly refused to join him on this venture, because to top it all he was a coward, but he was also a gamer and quite good at this. They accepted to be beta testers and entered the game, however even here Ben gets a Null class, and does not get tutorials or starting out gear or cash, but he is told he could be a runescribe whatever that might mean. Will meantime had sorted himself out quite well having been given the usual intro chances. Was what happened to Ben a glitch in the game, or was it intentional? Can Ben prove himself even after such a sorry start? He gets to battle zombies, a necromancer and other monsters, as he and Will partner up with another player called Zoe. All this happens in book 1, seeing Ben persist and even get stronger no matter the bad start he was given. It becomes all about the Inceptum, the artifact which could wipe out not only the wylds but earth itself if it fell into the wrong hands. So Ben and his friends knew that they had to keep it out of Fate's hands no matter what, however they were soon to find out that Fate were not the only group interested in getting Inceptum back. The Gods themselves seemed to have a vested interest in this and they were out to see that Ben, Will and Zoe did what the Gods intended with the Inceptum.Though all three are gaining in strength and endurance will they be able to face not only Fate, but the Gods themselves? This story is getting more and more intriguing and the ending is a real cliffhanger which makes me want book 4 immediately at hand to continue following our team's adventures both in the wyld and back home. The ending is a massive surprise, so prepare yourselves!

This is a review for the Audiobook. I had no idea what to expect when I first started listening to Mr. Chambers book but I got instantly hooked. He does his own narration, which is a delight. He really made this book come alive with each character and all the different voices and accents. Will's voice is this quirky southern accent that reminds me of my relatives, Ben and Will's banter is just a hoot. I was so engrossed in the story that I was transported to The Wylds world instantly. This is a fast pace quick-witted and laugh out load trilogy. Will and Ben become beta testers to a new online game but they must enter pods and have a fluid injected into them that allows them to experience the game virtually. Do yourself a favor and get the audio trilogy of "The Wylds Online" by the way I love the Wylds so much I also purchase the books.

The Wylds Online omnibus

Ben doesn’t have much going for him other than a work friend to game with. When he gets a chance to go into the latest deep dive VRMMO game, he seizes it with both hands. He quickly learns that this game is way more intense and dangerous than he thought. He couldn’t imagine leaving it though!

It’s always nice to have the first three books of a series in one audio! Book 1 is a fun VRMMO story. Books 2-3 have a more serious and dangerous overtone. The three main characters are very well developed and show growth throughout. The hook at the end has me waiting for book 4! The author, HG Chambers, did the audio himself. He did a great job, using multiple voices and everything.

Excellent series, I’ve left reviews on each book of you want to know more.
Great for Lit RPG lovers. I’m more of a sci-fi fan, but I loved this series anyway, as it cleverly interspersed both genres, although mainly Lit RPG.
But well worth a read!

Thoroughly good read with lots of breadcrumb trails

Wow! From a very uninspiring start to a whole new, and strongly evolving, world. Hints of what has happened and is happening in the "real" world. Love to know what happens next

Worth reading!

Even though it's only 3 short story/novellas, this omnibus is a good read. Can't wait for the next book/set. Doooooo it!

I liked this collection in that the main guy left his sucky job and went into a game world with his best friend and had to learn how this world works to survive.
