Join Captain Janeway and the Voyager crew in four tales of adventure and intrigue! First, in Seven’s Reckoning, a chance encounter with a reptilian alien race draws Seven of Nine and the rest of the U.S.S. Voyager crew into an ancient class conflict that's on the brink of exploding into all-out war! Set during Star Voyager's amazing fourth season, Seven finds her newfound humanity in conflict with her commitment to the Prime Directive. When she finally makes her choice, will it have the desired result? And will there still be a place for her aboard Voyager once the dust clears? By writer Dave Baker and artist Angel Hernandez. Then, in Mirrors and Smoke, it’s 2372. Rebel ship Voyager—captained by Kathryn Janeway, an escaped slave from a brutal Cardassian mining facility—is flung halfway across the universe. Stranded in the Delta Quadrant, Janeway and her ragtag rebel crew are faced with a find their way home, or quietly forge a new life far away from Klingons, Cardassians, and the Rebellion? Janeway chooses the third option. Voyager will stay. Voyager will plunder. The Delta Quadrant will be hers, and she will be its Pirate Queen. By writer Paul Allor and artist J.K. Woodward. Closing out this omnibus are two short stories, “The Wildman Maneuver” from Star Waypoint by writer Mairghread Scott and artist Corin Howell and “The Swift Spoke” from Star Waypoint Special 2019 by Malachi Ward and Matt Sheehan.
Was curious to see what Dave Baker could do apart from the complex insanity of Mary Tyler MooreHawk. This is a solid, perfectly normal "Voyager" story. Still new on the ship, 7of9 disobeys the prime directive in a noble but doomed attempt to free an oppressed group on an alien ship.
This omnibus volume of Star Trek Voyager comics pulls together a fun set of stories focusing on the Voyager crew. the first stories has Seven dealing with her new role on Voyager shortly after she leaves the Collective. The second presents a tale of the Voyager crew as it exists in the Mirror Universe, where Janeway is essentially a pirate taking advantage of its time in the Delta Quadrant to capture new technology. Naomi Wildman "wrote" the third story, which has her and Seven being heores when the ship needs it.
These were pretty fun reads. there was not a lot of groundbreaking storytelling, but it is reallyenjoyable for fans of the show.
