Another Gatlin boy for the win!


Loved the insta lust, steam and the chemistry between Scout and Remmy, absolute fire.
Hooked on You was fun, flirty and deep.
Both Scout and Remmy had a traumatic past, and both chose to hold it together and survive differently, which I find leads to a pivotal point (obvs) in the story, I won't elaborate more, as I don't want to ruin it, just know it starts out super spicy, it dies down about half way, but still remains hot.
Remmy's take no s*** attitude is one of my absolute favorite things in this book, and Scout is a Galtin so that just makes in swoony regardless of what he does.

ARC Review

I actually really enjoyed this story! It was a little weird and quirky, but that just added to its charm. I found myself laughing so much and having an overall fantastic time reading it. The characters are captivating, and I definitely want to know more about each of them, so I'll be going back to read more from this series.

Despite being busy with ARC reading, I breezed through this book thanks to how easily it flowed. The writing was engaging, making it hard to put down.

As for the premise, this gritty, steamy baseball romance truly delivers on its promise. The blend of baseball, trauma bonding, and forced proximity creates a compelling backdrop for the fiery relationship between Remmy and Scout. I won’t spoil anything, but the absence of a third-act breakup was a refreshing twist!

However, I do want to note that there are moments in the story that could be triggering for some readers. There are really sad parts that may break your heart, so it’s worth being aware of that before diving in.

If you're in the mood for a fun and steamy read that keeps you entertained and intrigued, Hooked on You is definitely worth picking up! Looking forward to more from the Gatlin series!

Remmy made mistakes in her past, that made her family distant, all but her brother. When she sees Scout, she knows he recognises her, but he can’t place it, so she makes him guess. Remmy knows there can’t be anything series but a night of fun she can do. Relationship don’t work with her past and what her career is she knows they never work.
Scout sees the woman and knows he’s seen her; he can’t place it until he does and then he knows he’s not going to let her go that easily again.
Everything is going better than any relationship either of them have had until Scout gets injured not once but twice requiring surgery which could end his career. When Scout found out what Remmy thought would destroy what they were building he knew there was something else she wasn’t telling him. With Scouts injuries, he finds out exactly what Remmy hadn’t told him. While Scout is supportive and wants to help Remmy, he didn’t think her condition would be that he gets help to, he though no one knew.
Can they both work out their pasts before it affects their future together.

This author always writes such amazing things! I’m always hooked each and every time I read something! This book was different for me though and through some of the parts I had a hard time continuing. Don’t get me wrong because I did love most of this book but there were parts that I felt shouldn’t have been glossed over. Some actions from both Scout and Remmy seemed to be a little too much for my taste.

I loved their story and the aspect of the whole thing all together! It was inspiring and so touching! Tears were shed, laughter in a lot of places but also cringe moments too. I loved the emotional connection I made and some real amazing points that I feel I take for granted. It really gave me a different perspective of Remmy in certain places and I could feel and see the affect that some things Scout would do affected her.

I held out so much hope for them and couldn’t contain myself each moment I knew one or the other was trying to sabotage themselves. I know I would huff out loud and my son would ask what’s wrong. The crazy things we do when we feel like we aren’t enough or deserve the normal things. What an incredible book to read and I couldn’t put it down! (Almost did in some parts but kept going!)

Hooked on You is book three in the Gatlin Brothers series and is the story of Remmy and Scout.

Scout has an instant attraction to Remmy from their very first meeting but she was the one who got away and when their paths cross again, he is determined to make her his. Remmy has secrets as well as childhood trauma and she knows being with a professional baseball player would put those secrets at risk. Together, Scout and Remmy navigate dealing with their past as well as the secrets they keep and lean on one another when they need someone most.

This story is full of spice, banter, laugh out loud moments and moments of pure frustration as they try to sabotage themselves. This is a fantastic edition to the Gatlin Brothers series and I highly recommend it to lover's of sports romance who enjoy all the chemistry and banter this story brings.

Have you ever read a book that was so good but you struggle to put down in words just how this story made you feel, well this was the book for me. This story took you on a roller coaster of emotions, from teary, intense, hilarious and everything in between. Scout and Remmy both come with some baggage that at times weighs them down. The chemistry and connection between the characters was off the charts. Overall this book is one that has you captivated and drawn to the story and the characters. If you are looking for a book that will hold your attention and give you a little bit of everything then this is definitely the one for you.

Deserves more than 5 Stars

I don't even know where to start with my review of Author Vi Summers’ new Gatlin Family Series release, HOOKED ON YOU. Let me just say that I love her writing and I felt that I was run ragged. I was bombarded with every emotion all at once, so intense, sad, poignant, and as funny as a freaking fight. One moment I'll be crying at the trauma our characters had suffered, then I'm I sniggering away like a hyena, or spit laughing onto my tablet, before looking around to make sure no one was reading over my shoulder. HOOKED ON YOU may or may not be safe to read at work, and seriously, I got no time to rest on my emotional laurels while reading it!

All this and at the same time, cursing up a blue streak and taking Author Vi Summers’ name in vain.

Each of her books in the Gatlin Family Series stand alone on their own merits, but I tell you true that reading the earlier books is a reward to yourself before moving onto the next, becoming even more invested in this family and the people that as readers, we are falling in love with. While reading Holly Gatlin and Isaiah Morella’s novella, ONE TASTE, I knew straight away from the heavy chemistry in one single scene that I needed Scout and Remmy’s book. He’d stormed into a lady’s bathroom (of all places) to search for Holly, his neice, and even as he'd been 100% smitten with the delicious siren who challenged his entry, he'd noted that she'd positioned herself in front of Holly to protect her. Two words; hot chemistry!!!!!

Ms Summers’ development of her characters was full and deep. They both carried heavy personal baggage and it was Scout who forced a deeper dive into how much they meant to each other. Remmy’s relationship benchmark was nail cycles which was ingenious and sad in my mind, and as each nail cycle passed, they hung in there with each other until Scout in his profound understanding of her psyche said;

“I’m not just some pretty color on your nails, darlin’. I’m here to stay,”

He saw her, not just visually, he actually ‘saw her', the brash and bossy front as well as the vulnerability that she worked so hard to hide. Scout didn't just want her in the bedroom, he needed the whole package, the whole nine yards, everything, body and soul.

I loved everything about HOOKED ON YOU. The gift of Ms Summers' writing talent is that you get alllllllll of the emotions from fun, laughter and familiarity with the characters through to gaining a huge insight and understanding of the connections between them and even their own vulnerabilities. It was the same with the bedroom, shower or anywhere else scenes where these two got together physically, and let’s face it, they were REALLY into each so imagine how often THAT happened!!! There was so much deep chemistry, fun and laughter , emotions were deep and beautifully written, and often I spit laughed onto my tablet. Ms Summers really brought so many dynamics together in creating those interactions between them and nothing about it was seedy in any way.

Word of warning though!!! Some hilarious scenes in this book will have you laughing out loud, then l👀king around to make sure no one is reading over your shoulder. Seriously, I was reading this book on a plane and when I spat laughed food onto my tablet, I wasn't sure if the young lady beside me happened to gawk at the screen to see what would promote such an extreme reaction 👀👀👀🤣. I hope she wasn't too shocked though...🤔

I have favourite moments in books and one of them is when you come across the passage that inspired the book title. It's almost like discovering a prize that the author left for their readers to find, and for Scout and Remmy's book it was this;

“I’m so fucking HOOKED ON YOU that you could do anything you damn well liked to me and I’d fall to my knees and take it. Every last second. Every last lash. The good and the bad. I’d endure it, and still worship the goddamn ground you walk on.”

*sigh* Seriously, with those words, Scout is giving Remmy the unconditional love she deserved and in doing so, became my new favourite book boyfriend.

I also have to throw in here that great secondary characters bring an amazing depth to a book, and special mention goes to Remmy's brother Bastian, who was not only her champion but a guardian angel as well. Ms Summers has a knack for giving the gift of a positive emotion all while weighting it with a heavy sadness or vulnerability. Bastian had her back, he was as funny as a fight and encouraged her when she needed it . One scene I loved was Scout seeing her at a game and pulling a stunt getting her to ring him, even as it got him tossed from the game by the Umpire. Bastian knew she was keen on Scout but didn’t think she was the right girl for anyone;

“You’re too hard on yourself, Rems. Guys like him don’t want girls like that—” (Bastian) brazenly pointed at a base bunny with her tits all but out “—they want and need a strong independent woman like yourself. One that’s gonna drive them fucking insane, but one that has their back and won’t leave when shit gets hard.”

Again *sigh*

Yep, HOOKED ON YOU was not only heavy on so many romantic moments, but heavy on emotion and past experiences. Ms Summers covered deep issues yet did so sensitively and often humorously. Us Kiwi's use a humourous outlook to lighten these moments and it was carried off, in my mind, flawlessly. One moment I was bawling my eyes out, next thing I was laughing my titties off.

I could blather on forever about the virtues of HOOKED ON YOU from Author Vi Summers in an active effort to encourage readers to pick it up. Scout and Remmy was gorgeous characters and the secondary’s were pretty special too. Oh, and I forgot to mention that Remmy's current vocation was one out of a box and I spit laughed more often than not. I loved everything about this book and that is why I reckon it deserves more than 5🌟! ⚾️💙★ღ

Scout is a professional baseball player who is currently out due to an injury. Remmy is an adult content creator just living her life. These two meet for a second time at a wedding (the first time was a random bathroom encounter) and there is an instant connection and a great night that they share. However, Scout never forgot about Remmy and after losing the girl twice, he isn’t going to waste his third chance with her.

Their relationship quickly progressed and there were a lot of ups and downs throughout, but the downs only seem to make the two of them stronger. I love how reassuring Scout is when it comes to Remmy and how caring he is. Remmy has walls up and doesn’t think she deserves Scout, but I love seeing those walls slowly come down the more time she spends with him.

Scout and Remmy both have things in their past that they are struggling with, but I love that when they finally tell each other what they are going through they can lean on each other for love and support to recover.

Oh my gosh !!! How I absolutely adored this book . I actually read a ton of baseball and sports romances by so many amazingly tainted authors . And I have to say it really has been a while since I’ve come across one that hooked me quite the way Scout and Remmy’s emotional rollercoaster of a journey has done . All the angst and the humor and the witty banter , the insane chemistry, the secrets , the drama , the heartbreaking and heartfelt moments, the family and friendships. And the instant connection I felt to both characters ( really kept me 100 % invested. Smiling, laughing, crying and cheering so freaking hard . Hooked On You is and was so much more than your typical Baseball romance it really is . So beautiful and so emotional, a story about dealing with trauma , about healing and second chances and maybe just maybe finding a happy ending when you least expect it !!

Remmy and Scout give you a read full of so many emotions, action, and spice. You won't want to miss. These two broken souls have found their way to each other twice before now he doesn't want to make a third. What the both don't realize as the start this journey that they both have some issues that they both don't know about one has a past of addiction and one has a anxiety. As the navigate their ups and downs a story gets leaked about her and things exlate and he hurts his elbow again and being in the MLB is not good. As things began to exlate the truth comes out and they have to decide if they can help or hurt each other?
What a emotional read this book takes you on and each page you wont expect or see coming, laughter, tears smiles and so much more. I adore this book and can't wait to read what she has next.

Scout and Remmy's story was a blast to read. They both had hidden darkness on the pasts, which attended grin They're teenage years and we're still dealing with those traumas in very different ways. Even they first get together neither imagine they'd found a true supporter in each other. But they both both fine as Scouts injury and recuperation difficult, bit in different ways.
I liked the sparks and passion between them both but the care and understanding which allows each other the tools and space to heal. They prove to be far stronger as a team, but when life throws them more curve balls, can this be enough?

This was as great story with fantastic characters, heat, laughter and love.

I look forward to more from this author.

Riveting!!

This is the third book in the Gatlin brothers series and I am loving it. Remmy and Scout are quite the couple, both struggle with their own demons. These two meet by second chance and it turns into a one night stand but when Scout sees her again he is bound and determined not to let her get away again. He is struggling with an injury from his playing baseball and possibly losing his chance of playing again. She’s struggling with her past decisions but she has a secret that could tear her world apart including the relationship with Scout. This is definitely a roller coaster ride full of emotions high and low. I’m so glad these two got their happy ending they deserved it. I definitely recommend this book.

Scout was drawn to Remmy from their first meeting so when fate brings her back into his life he isn’t about to let her walk away a second time. He is aware of the media notoriety that being a professional athlete brings but he isn’t about to let that stand in the way of being with Remmy.

Remmy is strong, resilient and has learnt that the only one she can depend on is herself. She has an unconventional career and things she wants to remain private which means she should stay away from Scout but that proves to be a challenge she can’t meet.

Scout and Remmy are kindred souls as they both have secrets and tumultuous pasts however when things become challenging they know that as long as they have each other they can overcome anything.

I really enjoyed Remmy and Scout's story. Remmy was the girl that got away and when they come face to face at a wedding he can’t quite put his finger on it until one moment alone with her triggers his memory. He’s found her again and won’t let her slip through his grip again. Remmy takes no crap from anyone, doesn’t care what people think and is dealing with a past she’d like to forget. She keeps men at arms length and she is finding out that Scout isn’t going to take no for an answer. The connection between them is instant and hard to resist. I love the banter and the wit of their conversations, but when life comes at you full force and affects your new found relationship, can you fight through it or will you walk away? Another great read by this author.

This is Scout and Remmy's book. Remmy is the smexy siren who has a past laced with secrets. Scout is the pro baseball player who let Remmy slip through his fingers twice and is determined not to make that mistake a third time. This is such a great story. First of all, I love baseball romances and love that Scout is smitten with Remmy. They both have hardships in their past they have to work together through. This book takes you on an emotional journey from happiness, to tears, and laughter. This is one I'm definitely glad I picked up.

Scout and Remmy - such a rollercoaster ride - they both have childhood traumas that have fundamentally changed them - but fighting their demons together was so incredibly beautiful. Happy that they finally figured how to move forward together and be the anchor the other needs. This was my first Vi Summers book and I will definitely be reading more!

Loved this! Had quite a few moments where I shed a tear and watching both Scout and Remmy work through their own demons was just heartbreakingly good. While on the surface Scout seemed so put together, his demons were just heartbreaking. I also loved how Remmy took charge of her own life and owned it, unapologetically, to look after herself.

Vi has done it again with Scout and Remmy.

Baseball player Scout has been attracted to Remmy since the moment they met. Even if they never exchanged information and she quickly became the one who got away. When he sees her again, he will do everything it takes to make her his.

Trauma can make people do things they might not otherwise do, but I enjoyed how Vi delt with the past trauma.

If you are looking for a spicy story with fun banter, this might be up your alley!

Remmy Adams may have a prickly attitude but once you learn her past, it's clear why her walls are so high. Scout Gatlin is trying to avoid a career ending injury, so when he finds Remmy he knows he can't let her slip away again.
Holy cow the emotions you'll go through while reading this! Its steamy, yet emotionally raw while dealing with mental health issues.
