In the highlands of Scotland someone wants to interrupt a wedding.
And they are going to stop at nothing to achieve their aim. Burning cars, bricks through windows … but that’s just the start and when the wedding party fail to take the hint, things turn deadly.
Forced to turn sleuth, Felicity’s questions reveal a worrying truth – the groom has a long list of enemies.
With the wedding going sideways and a powerful storm overhead, Felicity and her team must figure out which of the guests is looking to spill blood.
It becomes a deadly game they have to win, but the rules keep changing and there is someone in the background going out of their way to mess with Felicity’s best efforts.
Are they searching for one killer? Or are they pitched against a whole league?
Let's start this off with an invitation to get some FREE books. No, you didn't read that wrong, we are talking about multiple free books. I love giving away free books because once people delve into the fast-paced mystery thrills I write, they go on to buy lots more.
When I wrote my first novel, Paranormal Nonsense, I was a Captain in the British Army. I would love to pretend that I had one of those careers that has to be redacted and in general denied by the government and that I have had to change my name and continually move about because I am still on the watch list in several countries. In truth though, I started out as a mechanic. Not like Jason Statham, sneaking about as a contract killer, more like one of those greasy gits that charge you a fortune and keep your car for a week when all you went in for was a squeaky door hinge.
At school, I was mostly disinterested in every subject except creative writing, for which, at age ten, I won my first award. However, calling it my first award suggests that there have been more, which there have not. Accolades may come but, in the meantime, I am having a ball writing mystery stories and crime thrillers and will claim to have more than a hundred books forming an unruly queue in my head as they clamor to get out.
Now retired from the military, I live in the south-east corner of England with a pair of lazy sausage dogs. Surrounded by rolling hills, brooding castles, and vineyards, I doubt I will ever leave, the beer is just too good.
I do so adore Felicity Phillips Investigates books, wow book 9 already. So much fun , laugh a minute with the coolest snarkiest and bumbling sidekicks in Devil Dog Buster and ooh what’s the cat’s name again,? I forget…. Haha . Steve Higgs brings the perfect mix to this series . It’s serious sleuthing that always goes wrong but ends up working like a memorable song. A delightful mix of characters all play their part.To ensure you take this series into your heart. There’s a wedding , there always is .Felicity is in the wedding business. She’s waiting for THE ROYAL WEDDING is looming and so far she’s stolen the prize. Now to this wedding’s demise…Just what is going on in Scotland to cause such uproar? There’s threats and best yest ,doom and gloom surrounds the groom. The wedding party won’t take the hint of bricks through windows and burning cars. Just a who do they think they are mentality to the whole thing . But what to do if anything to make the wedding party get hitched. Nuptials planned and second guessed , everything for their distinguished guests…This has got to go well. Not having people go to hell . Her eyes on the ultimate prize of the Royal Wedding in heart is a big start to getting this party started and it’s not for the faint hearted but a splendid story. Wonderful storytelling ,a compelling read. Everything about this book is very good indeed .so immersive. And FUN I love the warring pets and the getting it wrong , Mindy and her zena warrior Princess impression and her beau ,you know who and their story. Do they get further towards the altar ,that would be telling . Just know that this great book is uber compelling storytelling ! Bravo Steve Higgs
Felicity is organizing a wedding in a castle in Scotland and is her last chance of succedding before the Royal wedding, but things do not go as planned and mayhem installs in the castle. Devil Dog, as always, is at his best sniffing and trying to identify who is the culprit with all those funny tirades that the character makes. But the main surprise will be what happens with the Royal wedding. I just want to read the last book in this series when other characters from other series will all be mixed together! I thank Mr. Higgs for this ARC.
Another fast paced story the follows Felicity and her team at their latest high profile wedding. With two differing groups of people hell bent on murderous mayhem at this wedding, each of them targeting a different person involved in the event, whilst blissfully unaware of the other group's deadly intentions, what could possibly go wrong!
Another great and fun read that will keep you not only thoroughly engaged with the plot lones , but also laughing throughout.
Highly recommend this and any other book by the same author.
Baddies, baddies everywhere and the real baddie is behind the scenes. There are aspects here of one of those classic farces on stage where one bad guys is doing something evil in one scene of the play while another with a different motive is committing a crime in another scene that is different but similar and all the baddies are working together against one guy who really deserves it. It’s complex but somehow it all holds together. I enjoyed it.
Things are getting dicey! A great big wedding, loads of guests and a killer...but seriously...who gets to eat all that food??? Break out the coats and gloves as there's a huge snowstorm blowing! With all the hullaballoo over this wedding, I can't imagine what the Royal wedding is going to be like!!!
Amber and Buster try to save the day!!! Felicity is amazing!!! Amber is Amber and Buster is Devil Dog, and Mindy is the Ninja Extraordinaire!!! Evil is popping up everywhere, and can they save the day? Or the people? Or the animals? Everyone is at risk in this WOW of a book!!! Come along to the event put on by the Number One Wedding planner!!! It's killer!!!
This is a great read that had me laughing out loud more than any of the previous books. Devil Dog Buster seems to have grown in depth and has some fabulous scenes that had me doubled up with laughter. Can’t wait for the concluding episode. Great work Steve 🤩🐾🐾
Ok this was not what usually happens again at a wedding. But then when all the insane people around it just seems they keep coming out of the wood work to disrupt Felicity's plans! But death plans? That woman needs help, not a job! The next book is gonna be insane!!
I love this series of Felicity Phillips. It keeps you engaged and its humor with her pets is hilarious. Amber and Buster are described so perfectly as a cat and dog, I had to giggle at their interactions. I am looking forward to reading the last book, but sad that Felicity's adventures will be over.
Things are heating up for Felicity. She is handling a wedding in Scotland, one of the last before the Royal Wedding. Hopefully, the crazy reputation that she has been hearing lately won't affect this one. Wellllllll........ What a super good story!
Another fabulous mystery by Steve Higgs. I love that there is humor and lots of suspense and twists. The pets and their ability to talk and argue with each other and Felicity is hysterical. The Felicity Phillips series is delightful. This one had quite a few bonus twists and surprises too.
