I read an ARC of this book & I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to do so! This book was so good from start to finish & I am contemplating reading it again!! It was perfectly dark for my liking and there was a mild bit of spice that I enjoyed.

There were two things that I wish I could’ve seen in the book however; which is why it got a four start instead of five.

1.) I was not fond of how many times he used her pet name. But that’s just a pet peeve of mine and nothing to do with the actual story haha
2.) I wish Soran would have had a longer introduction in the beginning. I feel like the story goes straight into his possessiveness of Amara without there really being a moment of him staking her and getting to know her and we never find out why he’s actually chosen her in the first place.

But overall, it was a really good book & I think others will enjoy it as well! Can wait to own a copy to add to my shelf. ♥️

Ｔｈｏｕｇｈｔｓ:
This was so easy to read and I flew through it - I love me a paranormal romance! Soran is a delicious walking red flag. He’s extremely possessive and there is just something about a possessive man for me. Also he’s a demon shadow daddy so say less, honestly. I also admire Amara’s strength because I honestly would have probably cracked under pressure 😂 There are quite a few spicy scenes sprinkled throughout the book, but some aren’t detailed and there is somewhat explicit language, therefore the lower rating, keeping both of those things in mind. Spice levels vary for everyone so just want to add this disclaimer.

Soran is a dark, broody, and delicious shadow daddy. I loved every moment he was on the page. His presence was magnetic, and I found myself craving more of his backstory. While this book had all the hallmarks of a gripping dark romance, I wished for a deeper emotional connection. At 325 pages, it read more like a novella, and I would have loved to see certain elements expanded, especially Amara’s character. At times, she felt a bit overshadowed by the men around her, leaving me wanting more of her own depth and agency.

That said, the world and concept were captivating, and I can absolutely see fans of dark, possessive romance devouring this one as quickly as I did!

recommended for readers 18 and up. check the trigger warnings. i thought this book was great. it did take a couple chapters for me to get into it but once i did i couldn't stop. this book was spicy and the details were amazing.
