Life isn't easy with when you live in a house with three guys, but former gamer girl Kira is trying to adjust. When she ran from an abusive relationship to hide with her old gaming teammates, she wasn't expecting life to get so complicated. Between jealousies erupting among the men and the complicated sexual tension between her and her ex crush, gorgeous pro gamer A1pha, Kira isn't sure she made the right decision in coming back.
But the choice might not be hers for much longer, because her abusive ex Nate just showed up at the mansion, and he's determined not to go home empty handed.
I finally have something new coming. Something with a billionaire, three hot guys, a pro gamer...and oh yeah, it's a serial with a cliffhanger at the end of every episode.
Each episode will be more than half the length of one of my typical novels, and should come every 2 to 3 weeks. It helps that two parts are fully written and I'm not releasing number 1 yet.
You'll want to click here to sign up for my newsletter because...
I'm not giving official release dates. I'm just getting this out as quickly as I can and allowing myself to be flexible, so if you want info on the series, you'll want to be on my newsletter.
Not only because the minute an episode is ready they are the ones who get the first notification, but because I also may do early releases, ARC offers and flash sales for loyal readers.
I just want to have a lot of fun with this series.
I'll also be watching out for potential readers and reviewers I may want to offer an early ARC of the next episode to. You are welcome to write me at blueashcroft(at)gmail.com if you are interested in being an early reader, but I give priority to active reviewers, so your best chance would be attaching or linking to your review so I can see your style.
I am liking the story more and more. We are finding out more about the main characters, Alex and Kira. They are becoming more likable. Some of the writing is a bit too wordy and flowery. In the love scene between Alex and Kira I had trouble figuring out exactly what was taking place, whether he was just touching her or whether they actually did the act. It was only later in the book when she said how much she enjoyed it when they made love that I knew for sure. I can see sometimes how authors don’t want to have their books too smutty, but too many vague yet flowery words leave the reader confused. Maybe it was just me though. Otherwise I enjoyed the book and was surprised at the reveal about Alex at the end. I will continue on to book 3.
Much like the first part, things are a bit all over the place for these characters. I still can’t connect with Alex, at all. I just don’t like him. I do feel for him and his agoraphobia, that must really suck, but I still can’t find it in me to really care for him.
Much the same for Kira. Although I'm glad she doesn't have to deal with the ass Nate, that part of the story resolved itself too fast. I feel like if it hadn't been in here, it wouldn't have mattered.
The rest of the characters are just there, not adding much to the overall story, imo. They’re the friends, and that’s all.
I’ll read the third part, because I want to know how this story ends.
I'm liking this series so far but Alex should stop acting hot and cold with Kira. I think I liked her better in the first part, here she said things like to Alex when I don't even remember it happening . I wasn't that convinced when her ex-boyfriend appeared at the beginning but I'll see if the plot gets more interesting in the next part :).
Kira (aka Lotus) is back living with her gamer friends after getting out of an abusive relationship with Nate. Possessive and nasty with it.
Just when they think she's safe, he turns up and threatens her with a knife.
Alex (aka A1pha) witnesses the attack and as calm as you like, takes the a**hole down. Cool, calm and collected on the outside, seething on the inside that the piece of trash dared to threaten the one person he considers his.
Emotions running high, libidos even higher, Kira and Alex have one night together.
But will it ever be enough...?
A weekend in Vegas is hopefully going to be the start of something more... Well for Kira at least. Alex, on the other hand, is a whole different kettle of fish...
I feel like the whole Nate situation was a anticlimactic. I expected more drama to be honest. More angst. But it was done so fast and seriously?? Nate started to talk with Kira like he wasn’t in a hurry to kidnap her and take her away? As a villain, Nate was very disappointing. Then the whole push and pull from alex. I just wanted to roll my eyes more than once. I’m gonna read the next one hoping it’ll get better.
I don't feel like there is enough hot Gamer books. This is a fun spicy read! The series was fun, it's been a while so I might need to reread and decide if my review needs to change ha.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Win Me is the second installment in the A!pha series, and picks up at the cliff-hanger of the first book. This review will contain some spoilers to book one, Play Me.
Win Me follows Kira who is fleeing from her violent ex-boyfriend and goes to live with three super hot gamer boys (her old gaming team). We start where Play Me left off, with Kira being approached by her ex-boyfriend out the front of Alex’s mansion.
Win Me’s best feature is that it is short, and steamy. That and a few well-placed pop culture references are about the extent of my praise.
It came as no surprise to me reading Win Me that Ashcroft’s writing style had not developed much, and that the book is carried by the sexual tension. In this sense it didn't differ from Play Me.
We discover more about Alex in Win Me which helped me to see him as not just a hunk of man meat who liked to go caveman and pick Kira up over his shoulder every thirty seconds.
Unfortunately the overpowering domination vibe continued on in Win Me with Kira being unable to look after herself, and literally scrambling around on the ground helplessly rather than doing something useful.
I would have liked Kira to develop a bit more, but Win Me falls firmly into my guilty pleasure shelf, so in the end it was entertaining.
I loved Win Me by Blue Ashcroft. If you haven't read Play Me yet, definitely read it first before reading Win Me. This is a series and you'll be thrown into the middle of everything without really knowing what's going on.
This was an excellent addition. I loved Kira and Alex and how they let down some of their walls to be closer. I still really love Ethan! Please please please write a follow up book with him as the main character. The Ollie and Ethan scene against the wall was hilarious! I was literally laughing out loud. My husband looked over at me like I was crazy.
I'm really looking forward to the final book to hopefully wrap up Alex and Kira, and what better place to do it then in Vegas!! Yes Please!! A great series!!
Well we finally get an answer to that cliff hanger, and what a doosy. This book had me griped in tension, Nate is a dick and Kira is our damsel in distress. A1pha really shows a lot more of himself in this story and starts to open up to Kira, which is great because I love A1pha you just don’t get to understand why he is the way he is, In win me we get the nitty gritty.
Ethan and Ollie are still wonderful characters I love them almost as much as I love Kira and A1pha, I would love a follow up to their stories as well.
To sum up, Win me follows on from Play me, sure the story line may be a bit choppy in some places but it sure is an entertaining follow up and I am looking forward to the next Installment.
Now I have to be honest (that sounds bad doesn't it?) I wasn't a big fan of Blue Ashcroft...now before everyone jumps down my throat, that was before starting the A1pha series, the only other book I read was Deeper and I honestly wasn't a big fan. With that being said, when I first started reading this series I fell in love, I mean who knew gamers can be dominating and sexy. This book not only left you wanting to buy book three but put in perspective the background history of the main characters and why they are how they are. Blue Ashcroft..even though I was not a fan of Deeper...I am a fan of A1pha..which in turn makes me eager to read other books you wrote..I officially signed up to the Blue Ashcroft fan club.
I been torn after reading the first book that if I should read book 2 since the first book left with a cliff hanger. I'll admit that the reason I wanted to read the book was about video games and that all the characters connection was through video games. I figured there would be some video game reference and there was but in all honesty, it wasn't that great and I don't think I will be reading book 3 & 4.
Storyline was good but not great and each story is short and the characters didn't feel like have a connection. What the heroine went through with Nate was terrible and I thought it was good that the author wanted to tackle domestic abuse but I wish there were past with Nate when he abuse Kira to feel for her rather when she was with Alex.
A copy was provided by the author for an honest review.
Win Me is part 2 of Blue Ashcroft’s A1pha serial series. In Win Me we get to see more of the connection between Kira and Alex after the intense cliffy from part 1 is resolved. I love the geeky group of friends in this series, they balance the intensity from Alex. Alex becomes more of a mystery in part 2, not that he was a straight forward guy to begin with. The cliffy is not as steep in part 2 as it was in 1 but the mystery of Alex has me waiting on part 3.
So, I am on a journey with Kira and Alex and there ain't no looking back at this point.
Personally, I love the tension. I love how Alex is being difficult and how Kira, although pained by his BS is being the stronger one. I love how all the men are there for her no matter what the situation. They don't care about Alex being all chest poundy. They support their friend. This is certainly a dramatic journey that is going to see Alex on his knees for Kira and I can't wait!
Well, this second instalment really didn’t win me.
The characters continued to be irritating. Alex needs to stop using his fists and throwing his weight around, and Kira needs to stop being quite so needy.
The storyline just didn’t entertain me, I got bored of the whining, I didn’t care about the gaming stuff, and even the sex scenes didn’t interest me. 4.25 out of 10.
As a continuation from the first part, it was perfect. There was a lot of plot exposition, and the characters are filling out so there is a more solid feel and connection to them. The action with the ex is pretty realistic, that was cool. I liked this part because it helped to further the story. It wasn't super exciting, but it was good to learn more about the elements before I move to the next part.
These four have been through SO MUCH and we're being fed bits and pieces which is perfect for the flow to keep the story moving. While it's not perfect it sure is entertaining and the things that are happening and issues with the characters I'm not seeing coming.
I'm still very intrigued by these characters to keep reading, which is something I'm looking forward to doing.
Oh A1pha...man he makes you just want to hold him close and love on him hard. We get more of a view of Alex rather than a1pha and of course more of the rest of the gang. I can't wait for the next part.
I am thrilled the episodes have come out so quickly. In Vegas we get great insight into Alex and how his persona was formed. You also get great insight into how the friendship fell apart.
I think this story is getting better, I love Alex, he certainly is complex, the cover is just lickable, I really Ollie too, not sure about Lots, she is growing on me
