And this, fellow bookworms, is not an exaggeration. This book has been postponed so many times that I made it my hobby of several years to check the new delay and update it.

I mean, at this point i'm like:


New release date?

Check.

Updating it.

* Processing *



* More processing *

Proceeds to repeat the process for several years as it gets postponed over and over again.

But do I still wanna read the damn book and see what happens?



At this point, all I want is to read the damn book just so I'll see if I have to modify the rating.

8 years later...

Yep, my darlings, it's been like 8 years since I first wrote this... review? We'll just go with review.

And it's kinda like the end of 2020 and the author's website tells me that this book is due in 2020. With the exact date to be confirmed. Well...



My expectations are... inexistent after more than 8 years, truth be told.

On her FB page, the author commented back in March: "I'm hoping that Spellcrackers #5 will be out as soon as it can be, hopefully early next year. I'm doing my best to make that happen, and I know my publishers will too."



Yea... not here yet.

So basically, we have nothing confirmed. Well, nothing certain, because it is more or less confirmed.

Amazon here tells me that I can expect this book in 2021. In January to be exact.



BookDepository here tells me that I can expect this book in 2021. In March to be exact.



Author has been MIA on the blog since 2016 if I'm not mistaken. The future is uncertain.

I just want the book to see how it ends!

I mean, We now have over a decade to look forward to something.

Dunno man.

At this point I'm just accepting everything and anything. Apparently we'll have the book more than a decade earlier than the last (2035 anyone?) prediction.

Amazon's new release date has been changed to 15 December 2022.

Just... roll with it.

The author's last blog post was 10 years ago and her last FB post was 6 years ago.

On top of that, we also have this:

And another decade old post tells us that "*This is the last book with Genny as the main character, but there are still two more Spellcrackers books to come - more on them later :-)"

Oh... the lies.

But to be fair, Amazon US at this point still says that the book was published on July 1, 2015 and that it's "Out of Print--Limited Availability"

It wasn't. I can assure you, that it was NOT.

And to make you even more confused, Powells, still insists that the publication date was 03/02/2021, the publisher is Gollancz and that it has 352 pages.

Thought that was it?

WRONG!

THIS IS NOT ALL!

Agenda Bookshop takes it one step further and lets you pay €12.31 (Original price €15.99) - so basically a majestic "Save" of 23% - to receive this book "when available."

Abe Books just gave up and wrote that the book was published in 2013, but that there are "No Available Copies".

At this point, my children's children's children will probably get to read this and will have to make a Ouija board session so great grandma can also find out how the series will end.

What's the hold up for this book? Amazon should have released the book already. If you're listening Amazon, please honor your commitment and release the book. I and others purchase many items from you so give good customer service like you claim you do. Otherwise you will lose customers for lack of trust. Release the damn book already !

I cannot find this book anywhere. IT’s downheartening to get invested in a series and have to give up on it. Why isn’t it available in the US?
