Honestly it was way too long for me (a reason why I don’t read fantasy ever, those books are way too long for me). But I understand why it was that long. I have never hated a FMC more than I hate kat. lol. But overall the story was really good.

Reckless Rhythms is an intense, beautifully written rockstar romance that pulls you in from the first page and doesn’t let go. Kat Crowne is a complex, flawed, and deeply human protagonist whose journey of self-destruction and redemption is both heartbreaking and hopeful.

The chemistry in this book is off the charts, and the emotional depth is incredible. The love story is soooooo messy, passionate, and full of tension, making every moment between the characters feel electric. The themes of grief, addiction, and healing are handled with care, making the story even more powerful.

The writing is raw and immersive, and the music world setting adds another layer of intensity. The side characters, especially the bandmates, and their sense of humor that balances out the darker moments.

This book isn’t just a romance, it’s an emotional experience. If you love angsty, deeply emotional love stories with complex characters and high stakes, Reckless Rhythms is a must-read. It pulled a lot of emotion out of me and I enjoy reading books.

There are a few things that might be considered triggers for some but it didn’t bother me, it added to the complexity of the story.

This is an ARC read review and I definitely will be reading more from this author.

What an incredibly emotional read!

This book explores themes of love, loss, found family, and grief.

Be sure to have tissues on hand; the ending is sure to make you cry. Kat is a remarkable character—broken and real—who makes many mistakes throughout her life, often hurting others unintentionally. Watching her experience both breakdowns and moments of healing is traumatic yet truly captivating.

“We hadn’t just crossed a line - We had obliterated it…”

This story starts with a warning about how Kat, is a trainwreck and I found it to be the biggest lesson from this read - It is okay to be a mess and it is okay to make mistakes. It is okay to fall down and take a minute to get back up, but you find a way to pick yourself up.

The found family dynamic with Neptune is part of the reason I loved this book so much. When you read a story with a band starting out - you live through the struggles they face in the music industry as a rising power together. Their success is your success and their lows are your lows.

It was about the 21% mark on my kindle when I was thinking.. “Okay there has been a lot of sex scenes already….” but then continuing to read, you really start to see how it becomes integral to the plot progression and how Kat falls into the life of a stunning rockstar where everyone wants you and how that can go to your head and the fallout it can bring.

The Kat at the end of the book is not the same as the Kat you read at the beginning because of this history and what she has learned because of it.

Unsuspectingly, I found myself completely immersed in the story and the relationships between all the characters and the growth in the main character, Kathryn.

I had a 6 hour car ride and I couldn’t put the book down and kept reading as soon as I got home. By 7PM, I was sobbing on the couch where the ending of the book had me grasping for any hope of sunshine amongst the sadness.

Do not go into this expecting a HEA, because that is not how Kat’s story ends.

I love when lyrics are included because the verses can completely encompass the feelings of the characters in an indescribable way! I only wish I could hear Neptune’s songs, but I will settle for rereading their story over and over. It was everything I want in a rockstar romance: intensity, passion, connection, and raw emotion.
