Hell awaits...There are things that hide in the margins. Terrible, broken things that writhe in the space between worlds… and they’re after Shane Beck. He’s about to find out there are fates worse than death — and the torment that comes after.
Shane Beck is an exorcist with a secret — he’s not really who he says he is. Beck is possessed by the soul of Mike Baxter, a grifter who escaped Hell after decades of suffering. Using Beck’s body, Baxter performs exorcisms while trying to stay one step ahead of the demons hunting him.
But when Beck’s estranged son, James, appears on his doorstep desperate for help, Baxter finds himself in an unfamiliar pretending to be a father. When an elite agent of Hell tracks them down, Baxter and James are thrust into a deadly fight for survival. That battle forces Baxter to face the question he’s been can redemption be earned, or is he doomed to the fate he tried to outrun?
It’s dark, gripping, and full of heart in the most unexpected ways. The writing pulls you in immediately, and the artwork is absolutely stunning. I found myself thinking about it long after I turned the last page. If you’re into stories that haunt and move you at the same time, this one’s for you.
Read it all in one sitting because I was pulled into the plot and wanted to know more about the characters and rules of the world (and underworld). Artwork was amazing. Graphic novels do not need to be your main genre to enjoy this book.
