Fandom: Harry Potter -------------------------------------------------- Hermione's destiny is altered by the Powers that Be. She is cast back to the Marauder's Era where she is Hermione Potter, the pureblood fraternal twin sister of James Potter. She retains Hermione Granger's memories, and is determined to change her brother's fate for the better.
I found the premise a little confusing at first because it is actually pretty convoluted. I hadn't read many fanfictions when I started this so seeing someone stray so far from canon was a little distressing. I enjoyed the story, especially the insight and theories into pureblood culture. Although, the Potter family seemed rather aristocratic. So, it would have been nice to have an insight into a more middle-class wizarding family because we canonically only see Malfoy (who is stinking rich) and Weasley (who is pretty poor). A middle ground would have been nice to see and explore. I don't really enjoy the HG/SB ship, and I think the time-travelling aspect of this story shows why it wouldn't really work if it was canon. I feel really sorry for poor Hermione living with two people in one body. I sometimes find it a bit crowded in my head, and it's just me... With that being said, I love that it's actually Hermione who saves the day in this story. And with way more haste than you would have thought, too. So much of Slytherin.
Overall - I really enjoyed this for the creativity and the exploration of pureblood culture. If HG/SB is your ship then you have to give this a read because the love story is one of the best parts. I won't be re-reading, but I do consider my fanfiction education to be more well-rounded after reading this.
(Also very impressed that I can now add certain fan-fictions towards my Goodreads goal - YES!)
This is one of the first Sirius/Hermione fics I read after I finished Debt. I remembered scenes but was about halfway through when I put it together that I'd actually read this fic before. It's a decent fic, but very much a product of the time period it was written in. There are some dropped plot points and some missed opportunities, but still a decent fic. Fuck me tho, that "bad ending" where they get a divorce guts me every time.
Overall this was a pretty good fix-it fic for literally all of the characters in this story. Seeing Hermione go to the ends of the earth to fix everyone's life was a nice element of the story. At times the conflict lagged, particularly towards the end of the fic but it was an enjoyable story to read.
I really enjoyed the different relationships that this fic portrayed. It made it very interesting to read. I loved the dynamic between Hermione/Lucius/Severus/Regulus.
I wish I hadn't read that alternate ending though because now I am sobbing, dying, never going to be the same. My heart has been ripped out of my chest and spit on.
Really good. My main criticism is that there wasn’t enough Hermione and Sirius because the writer focused too heavily on the plot-which I loved but about halfway through we got less of what I loved, which is moments with the marauders post Hogwarts. It also felt rushed but I’d still recommend.

Pretty good book, but I thought the end was a bit dragged on. I LOVED how Hermione granger was still there acting almost as an inner voice for Hermione Potter.
