This book surprised me. I expected another generic job search manual full of vague platitudes, but Go Get It turned out to be a smart, structured, and refreshingly human guide to navigating one of life’s most stressful transitions.

The tone throughout is reassuring without ever being coddling. The author clearly understands what it feels like to be stuck in limbo, and instead of pushing “just be confident” advice, they walk you through practical, doable steps to get back on track—emotionally and professionally.

What sets this book apart is how well it balances strategy and mindset. Yes, it has resume tips, LinkedIn pointers, and all the usual suspects. But it also spends meaningful time on overlooked areas like dealing with rejection, managing burnout, building confidence after a layoff, and using reflection to stay grounded. The sections on impostor syndrome and visualization were standouts—less clinical, more like a calm friend who’s been through it.

I especially appreciated how flexible the guidance is. Whether you're fresh out of school, returning to the workforce, or pivoting careers entirely, the chapters feel relevant. It’s not trying to sell a single solution—it helps you build your own. The journaling prompts and checklists weren’t filler either; I found myself using them to stay focused week-to-week.

If you're between jobs, feeling lost, or even just considering a change, this book is worth having in your corner. It won’t do the work for you, but it gives you a clear way forward—and sometimes, that’s exactly what you need.

This book does a great job of going beyond submitting the application and waiting for an interview. It carries a huge encouragement towards building a supportive network by contributing to communities and establishing proof of your skills online by engaging in relevant topics. The competition is huge in today's workforce, and one thing we have begun to underestimate is human connectivity. I greatly appreciate how Got Get It explores opportunities beyond the traditional expectations of a workplace and guides the reader through hidden paths to get ahead of the competition and actually stand out.

Go Get It is more than a job search book, it’s a motivational guide that gives you the confidence to take control of your career. I really liked how it blends practical tools like resume tips, interview prep, and networking strategies with encouragement to stay resilient during setbacks. The STAR method examples and salary negotiation advice are especially useful and easy to apply. What sets this playbook apart is how empowering it feels, it doesn’t just tell you what to do, it inspires you to believe you can do it. A smart, encouraging, and results-driven resource for every stage of a career.

It covers all angles of looking for a job

I found this book incredibly helpful for anyone navigating job hunt. It’s not just about writing a resume or prepping for an interview. It also covers mindset, motivation, and overcoming self-doubt. The chapters are well-structured with practical action steps. I especially liked the parts about networking and handling rejections. Some sections felt a bit repetitive to me, like the goal-setting one. Still a solid resource overall. It has a balance between encouragement and real advice. It covers all the angles of job hunting.
