When she’s not sipping coffee from her “World’s Okayest Author” mug or herding her four cats away from her keyboard, Gypsy writes character-driven, emotional chaos with a side of, “What did I just read?” Hardcore smut fan? Same, sis, same.
Pretty & Wrecked is a captivating read that exceeded my initial expectations, making it highly recommended.
The female main character's deeply fractured state becomes apparent as she navigates her plans of revenge and confronts the man she once loved.
Author Gypsy Reed explores the impact of triggering behavior on mental health and well-being in the face of trauma, crafting a fast-paced storyline with powerful characters and an unsettling ending that will leave readers craving more.
So her name is Naomi Watson, filled with trauma and a toxic relationship she can't escape as much as she wants to because she's to in love with a guy named Jace who has so much control and a biker boss who doesn't care anymore as long as he has his kitten and able to control her like he wanted to
Definitely recommend this book to anyone over the age of 18
This book follows the FMC Naomi and the MMC Jace. Naomi endured torture and trauma for 15 years and now she is back to get her revenge.
This novella is intense and gripping and beautifully written. You can really feel the emotions of Naomi throughout this book. This was a great read with complex characters. This book is a story about revenge, trauma and an incredible love story between Naomi and Jace.
I enjoyed this book and was happy that it was an ARC read.
I was thoroughly engaged by the detailed narrative of Naomi's (MFC) struggles with trauma and her pursuit of vengeance. Her personal accounts are frank and intense. Take a moment to review the TW before reading!
With every tangled thought and raw revelation, Naomi Watson—the fierce and fractured FMC—lays bare the toll that a decade of torture and abuse has taken on her psyche. The writing mirrors Naomi’s unraveling mind with haunting precision, drawing readers into the chaos of her memories as she threads her way through a plan of revenge steeped in pain and blurred truths. What makes this story so compelling is the masterful way the author keeps us questioning Naomi’s grip on reality. Are her memories accurate or are they the desperate reconstructions of a damaged mind? That ambiguity pulls you deeper with every page, driving you toward answers that are never quite black and white. The story is brutal. Unflinching. And when Naomi steps back into the clubhouse where it all began fifteen years ago, it’s like stepping into a time warp of toxicity. Her connection with Jace is instant, incendiary, and disturbingly intact. Jace is volatile, dangerous, a stick of dynamite with a smoldering fuse that never truly burns out. His reaction to Naomi’s return is electric, laced with all the destructive chemistry that once consumed them. What truly stunned me was how fast Naomi crumbled beneath the weight of their shared past. All her talk of vengeance falters the second Jace looks at her like she still belongs to him. It’s painful and frustrating—and utterly believable. Because the truth is, Jace is woven into Naomi’s very being. And in the end, that connection—however toxic—haunts Naomi and made the unsettling conclusion of this novella make perfect sense. Will we see Naomi again? I NEED to. This story feels like just the beginning of a much darker, deeper descent and I’m absolutely along for the ride. Plot- or character-driven? A mix Strong character development? Yes Loveable characters? Yes Diverse cast of characters? Yes Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated 4.5 ⭐️ Kindle (ARC) - dark mc second chance romance in a short story with a lot going on. Naomi has been gone for 15 year, imprisoned in a mental institution which really was a sex trafficking ring as a result of what she calls a betrayal by the one who loved her the most, Jace. We pick up the story with her return to Jace (now Mayhem MC President) and calling him out for being the one to place her and his sister into the hands of the Jackals MC and their depraved sex trafficking ring. Naomi wants revenge but Jace is just overjoyed to have the love of his life back. Though Jace’s temporary club whore isn’t happy about it they both put her in her proper place on their path back to one another. The story leaves us the reader hanging as to what’s next for this couple and hopeful for a future hea. Even though it’s short, we learn much about the main characters with hints to the horrific events Naomi went through during her 15 year imprisonment without reading it first hand. This reads like a prequel to a larger book/series where more in-depth details and events will be unmasked and experienced. Last chapter is from Jace’s POV and it would have been great to get more of his POV throughout the short story but is also a nice change to Naomi’s inner thoughts and monologue.

This is the kind of messed up world I want to live in when I say I like dark romance.
This is a first from this author and I’m beyond happy i discovered her! The brutality and the way you really feel what the FMC feels through words is second to none.
Speaking of, our FMC, Naomi, is destroyed. Ruined by captors for 15 years as they pulled her apart, mind, body and soul and left her pick the pieces up that were left in tatters on the ground. That’s when she decided to end all of it. Nothing else matters but the justice she decided to set out for herself.
Our MMC, Jace, is dumbfounded when in waltzes a firecracker, 15 years on from going missing. But not all of it is as it seems when he thinks he go on to manipulate her to his way of thinking and living. But is he underestimating just how much his little Kitten has changed?
This author has the ability to slap you in the face with emotions you don’t really want to think about and shoes you don’t want to put yourself in. That in itself is something I love about a book and something you don’t come across very often. That talent needs to be spread out and shown to every dark romance reader in the world. Thank you so much for writing. This one will live rent free in my head 🤍
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 Trafficking/touch her and 💀, revenge, mind games and manipulation Cliffhanger Broken FMC MC Club
Gypsy Reed has done it again! Pretty and Wrecked is an intoxicating, gritty, and unapologetically dark romance that pulls you in and refuses to let go. As a longtime fan of Gypsy’s writing, I was beyond excited for this release, and it absolutely exceeded my expectations.
This story is not for the faint of heart—it’s raw, dirty, and deliciously twisted in all the best ways. The characters are beautifully broken, their chemistry electric, and the tension keeps you on edge from start to finish. Gypsy has a way of crafting deeply flawed yet irresistible characters that make you root for them, even in the darkest moments. The emotional depth, the scorching heat, and the intricate storytelling had me devouring every page.
I love that Gypsy is continuing to bring us more stories, and I can’t wait to see what’s next. If you love dark, addictive romance that pushes boundaries, Pretty and Wrecked is a must-read!
This is a short & quick dark read, with the main character being a victim of grotesque abuse, which is hinted at but not described in detail. It’s a fast punchy read, and I really want to know what happens next but I’m not sure if there is going to be a next one?!
Naomi is abducted and a victim of human trafficking and horrific abuse, which has left her, in her own words a psycho or monster, which she blames Jace, the love of her life for, which is why 15 years after being abducted she returns to the mc club he is now president of to get her revenge and kill him before going after the monsters that subjected her to years of abuse.
I feel like there was a lot going on in this short story and it could have quite easily been expanded into a full length novel and potentially the start of a series. The ending of this was quite abrupt and I’m left wanting to know what happens next!.

I finished this book, but it finished me… Cat’s Stats FMC- whatever’s left after Naomi Weston was destroyed. Aka “Vengeance”. MMC/Nemesis/Lover/Object of Vengeance- Jason French …and that’s all the spoilers you’re getting. Safety? N Triggers- more triggers than an NRA swap meet. Tropes? N. This is not a traditional romance in any way, so it doesn’t follow trope conventions. What it has- - an absolutely unique point of view - an unreliable narrator - a hero who may not know it, but he’s also the villain - breaking of conventions - originality - character growth - angst - graphic violence as an aphrodisiac This book was terribly beautiful and awesome in all senses of the word. I loved it and the only thing I would change is I’d love to read it for the first time again… and again and again. A masterpiece.

A new Author, a new tale and needing more of what happened between Naomi and Jace! I will admit this story had quite a novel manner in its storytelling procedure where it was told in time frame of scattered moments. There is a time frame of fifteen years between the start of this couple's relationship to the reconnection of them with a lot of mystery in between. There definitely are triggers that readers need to be aware of but the manner in which the story unfolds is quite cryptic emitting the real grit of darkness. Which to me I thought was rather brilliantly portrayed whilst still producing the highly emotive feelings for the FMC. A relative quick read still punching enough action, emotional drama, a sense of corruption and betrayal but still wrapped nicely in so much mystery and vengeance.
I've always heard so many good things about Gypsy Reed, and this one did not disappoint! 📚✨ Naomi and Jace are intertwined in a whirlwind of love and hate. Their chemistry is lethal, destroying them both, but they can't resist each other. TOXIC would be an understatement. 💔🔥
What Gypsy captures is so unlike anything you'll ever read… you get the POV of a re-built survivor in her villain era. Raw, brutal, and ready to fight. Her inner thoughts as she battles her demons, old and new. 🖤💪
Reed's writing style is quite different, but the energy and atmosphere created will definitely suck you in. 🌪️📖
If you're looking for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat, this is it. The emotional rollercoaster is real! 🎢😭 Highly recommend for those who love intense, raw, and emotional reads. 🌟❤️
First and foremost, please read the triggers slowly before jumping into this one. I really enjoy reading Ms. Reed's books. She give it to readers as dirty as it needs to be. Naomi Weston finally got away and wanted revenge. She decided to go back to where her nightmare started. Her nightmare started with Jason French, now president of the Mayhem MC. Naomi is walking back into the clubhouse after being gone for 15 years. This is not the same Naomi that left. She is back and revenge is the only thing that she wants. Unfortunately, her body did not get the message. She falls prey to Jace as soon as he lays eyes on her. Jace has always been her weakness. Nothing will stop her from the revenge that is owed to her. I hope this is the start of a series. I have to see what else Naomi has up her bada$$ sleeves. She left a scared girl in love with a fool and came back with a vengeful heart ready to rule the world.
"I’m back—forged in trauma, sharpened by rage, and hungry for the kind of vengeance that doesn’t just bleed… it burns. They created a monster. And monsters? We always come home."
Pretty And Wrecked is Naomi and Jace's twisted, dark and dirty story. Naomi's fight to get vengeance is huge in this book and her first stop is Jace, the man she loves. She spent years living a life that most would never survive and she lays the responsibility of it all at Jace's feet. There's many facets to this story that in some places left me a bit confused and in others wondering why, but from start to finish left me intrigued wondering what would become of this couple. This is a short, fast-paced, one sitting, intense read. It'll be interesting to see how things shake out with this story.
My first read from the author so I'm not sure if this is her writing style or because this is a novella. But, first chapter in and I'm already confused. The character talk big game of revenge, but she just Waltz in to the club house? And got puck in thr next second? Yeah, I was flabbergasted of huge what the puck.
The dialogue between the characters were minimum. Readers will have scene by scene just like watching a movie, very thorough I say, the detail was good. But, super fast pace.
I stop trying to understand what's going on from that first chapter and just read and see what will unfold. And it was unfinish ending.
Really hope we got the big book next. Four star for now.

This is a bullet train of gritty, raw emotions and sheer energy! Naomi is a traumatized, victimized woman on a path of vengeance and she’s not worried what it will cost her or anyone in her way. She’s suffered through years of pain and guilt and now that she’s escaped: her tormentors will pay. This is my first book by Gypsy Reed and it is exactly what is promised!! An adrenaline pumping, dark, and intense story that offers no apologies and delivers well written insight into the minds of characters with a horrific past. Smutty scenes, dirty talk, and a cliffhanger? that teases more of Naomi and Jase: I can only hope for more!!!.

Pretty & Wrecked by Gypsy Reed is a dark and disturbing romance. When Naomi renters Jace's life after being gone for 15 years, it is not a happy reunion. She is out for revenge and Jace is her target. Naomi is suffering some severe PTSD from being held captive for 15 years by a rival motorcycle gang who tortured her mercilessly. This is super dark and trigger filled, so be warned if you decide to dive into this one that it is not for the faint of heart! Naomi's story carries the scars of such brutal and cruel degradation, and I found myself just wanting to ease her pain.
This is a short novella filled with graphic and disturbing scenes, but you still can't help falling in love with Naomi and her strength to overcome. A must read for all those dark & disturbed readers out there!
Oh my, that was an epic journey through Naomi’s savage and vengeful mind, not that she was born this way, oh no, it was the years she’d spent kidnapped, of her surviving the torture she endured at the hands of the Jackals and the agonising betrayal of the man she loved that had taken her where no human being should go. I lived inside Naomi’s tortured mind, walked with her through the pain she felt throughout this story and celebrated with her when vengeance was had. A definite page turner and very entertaining. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎🖤 I’m hoping to hear more about Naomi’s story.
Ummmm, what the ever loving insanity did I just read?! This was a twisted, multi-layered story that gripped me immediately and didn’t let me go until I got to the end and it still has a hold on me. So complex and different moments of sadness, empathy, fury, passion that took me through it all and I couldn’t get enough!
I cannot wait to see what is in store for us in the next book and what else is uncovered and brought to light and how it will be dealt with.
Amazing read as always from Gypsy. I love that no topic is too big or taboo and she never backs down from the darkness - if fact, it’s embraced and I’m all in for it all!
This certainly is a twisted book. That's why I liked it. Naomi is obsessed with revenge, justice, anger, resentment! You name it, Naomi feels it, in a huge way. Naomi is flat out unhinged. Naomi's revenge was 15 years in the making. Who was responsible for Naomi turning into a monster? Well, Jace is probably first on the list. Add in some MC gangs and that's only a start. The only problem for me, I wanted more. The book leaves off with plenty of speculation. I need another book to clarify the fates of our characters. I had never heard of this author. I'm glad I came across this novella.

Naomi went through hell. Does Jace know what really happened to her? Does he also know what happened to his sister? Where's his dad now? Reading this book, I think I was expecting it to be way dark, and for me personally, it wasn't. Nothing was descriptive. It was all alluded to the bad that happened. Even the few sex scenes were not descriptive. I liked the book so please don't think I didn't. The reason for my 4 ⭐️ rating is that I would have liked more dual dialog. I get this was mostly about Naomi and what she went through, but still. I'm not a real big fan of inner dialog, but it worked for this book. I can't wait to read the next book. The writing is fantastic.
OMG this book had me hooked from page 1. Gypsy Reed knows how to draw you in and just pull you along. The storyline was gripping but also emotional. You can’t help but feel all the emotions with FMC as the store goes on. That plot twist definitely got me but it made me love this story even more. This book may be a short read but so worth every minute. If you like dark romance but also love a story with a crazy plot twist and a bada** FMC who gets revenge, you’ll love this story! 10/10 would definitely recommend!! As always dark romance readers, check your triggers because this has a nice little list.
I absolutely loved this book. It was fast paced and exciting! It was set in the Louisiana bayou which is always a plus for me being a Louisiana girl! Pretty and Wrecked was filled with dark secrets and trauma. I don't want to give away too much, you'll just have to read it yourself! If I could have given it more than 5 stars I would have. Hopefully there is a 2nd installment! Oh ,don't forget to check your triggers, because this book is full of them. This was my first book by Gypsy Reed, but know I will be reading more! I am already stalking my next Gypsy read!
It didn’t take me long to get through this one at all. Naomi is back for revenge and she’s bound and determined to do it. Throughout the book she was mostly in her head with her thoughts but it kept you drawn in and wanting to know what happened 15yrs ago that made her feel this way. When you finally do find out what really happened it breaks your heart but she finds a way to overcome all of the trauma she has. The ending tho it made me feel like there’s more to the story but it also has somewhat of a happy ending.
Meet Naomi a girl forged in trauma, betrayal and dark places. Coming for revenge on a man she tought she hated enough......strong fmc an unhinged mmc. Loved the story line and the fact that its a no bullshit dark romance. The book transported me into the fmc world and I felt every bit of emotion. This is a page turner just to see whats gonna happen next. Personally the promise at the end of the book ... let's just say I wish there is gonna be a book 2. Please see trigger warnings those were fun to read 😁🖤🌹
Naomi is on a mission for revenge and vengeance. In order to survive the torture she had to endure 15 years ago, she had to become a monster and she is ready to unleash that monster onto the man that she believes is responsible for causing that torment and torture to her life. Problem is, she both loves and hates this man. This story is dark and twisted, so definitely check the trigger warnings first. Jace seems to love her and seems like he didn't know what happened to her. I loved the way this ended and can't wait to read the next book in this series.
4 1/2 stars Trigger warning for this dark yet captivating story. Understanding the sequence of events was paramount to understanding why she reacted to various situations in this book. I didn’t feel as if I got the whole story as everything played out and was left with plenty of questions - almost too many to feel connected to her drama. I liked how the author wrote the story. I felt her indecision, trauma, emotional turmoil and was captivated by it.

This isn't anything like I imagined it was going to be as I was lost most of the book. It is short & dark, which doesn't bother me, but nothing was described in detail, things were alluded to but not further explained. By the end of the book, I still didn't know who did what - was Naomi the killer or was Jason. All the reviewers who gave this book 5 stars must have read something that I didn't find, or we were reading two different books.
