"Will You Join Me" is a thought-provoking short story by author Precious Gibson.
This romance drama follows Leslie DuLane, whose love for Valentine’s Day runs deep—especially after spending twenty years with her devoted husband, Gerald, who always goes to great lengths to make each celebration special. However, when they are forced to spend their first Valentine’s Day apart, Gerald ensures Leslie still has a day to remember. As she takes in the many surprises he has planned, he presents her with a life-changing proposition, asking, “Will you join me?”
Now, Leslie faces a decision that will not only alter the course of her life but also secure their future together.
Author Precious Gibson discovered her love for literature while in elementary school. Throughout her middle and high school years, Precious penned hundreds of short stories in her free time, preferring to tell the stories of characters who had a similar upbringing as herself and those around her.
At age 26, Precious began working for several music and entertainment blogs, including Baller Alert, Hip-Hop Weekly, and Sheen Magazine. After several years of blogging and building an online community through her articles and the launch of her popular Cake Dish Podcast, she decided that it was time for the world to experience her more personal work, her highly anticipated debut novel, “In The Wicked We Trust.”
I dont even know how I feel about this one. I know something was gonna go down but girl idk.
I just hope no man EVER SUGGEST SOME SHIT LIKE THAT TO ME. I will join you when it's truly my time. Also there has to be something behind why they all called Mrs. Dulane. Why is bestie referring to me as such???
I truly don't know how to feel or rate this. Just know that this will NEVER BE ME.
Short Beautiful story about Unconditional love. The ending was definitely unexpected, didn’t think it would end like that nonetheless It was a good read.
Spoilers!!!! . . . . . I feel conflicted about this book. I thought it was sweet, but throughout the story, I kept wondering where the husband was. It was very touching to find out that he planned the Valentine's Day celebration beyond the grave, but asking him to join her feels selfish. I guess based on the title it makes sense. I hope a love like this never finds me! The expectations are ridiculous.

3.5 for me because I don’t even really know what I just read… it wasn’t bad but it definitely was an interesting and wild few pages. I need to give this one some more thought
I am not going to recommend this to anyone, but it made me smile and then it made me cry. All in 20 pages. The author needs her laptop taken away though.
This romance short follows Leslie on Valentine’s Day without her husband for the first time in decades. All I have to say is PLEASE don’t EVER give me this type of loveeeee😂
