It was supposed to be an easy night protecting some spoiled seventeen-year-old kid while he was at a hot Miami party. I never expected to find myself suddenly sent to an entirely different world.
Now I’ve landed in some weird off-brand version of King Arthur times, and a beautiful woman claims it’s my destiny to reunite the people and protect them from the Saec raiders and a jerk who claims to be king.
But it’s not as easy as the old legends made me believe.
Just finished this book and I really loved it. Great characters already and it’s only the first book really looking forward to continuing this series. Highly recommend.
As you can tell from the title, this book is about an age similar to King Arthur's day. Jacobs has started a series and this is a really good story to set the series up.
Elliott is sent to another existence that is nothing like modern day Miami. While there he runs into a local woman, Bedwyr, and then they are off to find the wizard, Myrthin for guidance on Elliot returning to Florida. This basically sets up the rest of the story.
The harem side is a little slow in this book, but you can tell how it will pick up in the next book. Hopefully the next book will be out fairly soon.
Logan Jacobs is one of my favorite authors and this one of his didn't disappoint. There are lots of things to wonder about and lots of small things that fit in unexpected ways. It's a good read. I've studied the time of England just after the Romans left, and Jacobs does a fairly good job showing the Roman influence of England at that time. And the predation of the Various Germanic tribes. While I wouldn't cite this book as a source for a paper, it's a great read and I enjoyed it.
hmm something must be in the water or air as this is the 2nd "Sword in the Stone" spinoff released in the last 2 weeks. In the case of this one the "devil is in the details" and the details are excellent. Well developed and functional MC adapting to his new reality. You know the basic plot but the details of how it progresses are generally delightfully entertaining. Looking forward to the rest of the story.
I was fooled by the reviews. Didn't see anything about this being harem either. Someone will probably say I should have known by the author. I read a lot of books and don't always recall the author of certain types of books. So, I am not a big fan of this type of story. Also from what I did read a lot of things are repeated more than once which I found irritating.
1/10 Wish it said what type it was in the blurb. Could have avoided a one star review.
As a kid I loved the stories and legends of King Arthur, and here we have a brand new series by Logan Jacobs I spires by the same stories and legends in a fantasy world.
It's definitely a fun and intriguing read, if a little slow to start after the initial transmigration. But definitely looking forward to more!
A cute tale tied to the Arthurian legend. It was well written and the characters were well created and developed. The storyline was easy to follow and made for interesting reading. Based on what the author has written so far, I am looking forward to his publication of book 2.
I need the next book now. It's already had an excellent start. It could be made into a truly awesome series. I also really appreciate the research necessary to get the names and places just close enough to the old Welch stories from centuries ago
Awesome beginning to a series. It’s an interesting take on the Authur myth, and Merlin is funny as a cantererous old man. I really enjoyed the plot and can’t wait to see Elliot kick some Sean ass .
A retelling of the story of King Arthur, taking a fellow from Florida and depositing him in an alternate universe universe as the once and future king.
I loved every single moment of this book. It is so well written and has some really loveable characters. I really like where this is going. Can't wait for more.
