"Chronic Illness and Eating Disorders" by Tamie Gangloff is a must read and an insightful guide for both clients and clinicians. It explores how chronic illnesses can lead to disordered eating and discusses treatments like EMDR and CBT. Gangloff covers a wide range of topics, including lifelong and acquired illnesses, visible and invisible disabilities, sports injuries, chronic pain, and grief. She provides treatment recommendations that emphasize body neutrality and mindful approaches. Gangloff's personal journey of recovery from an eating disorder adds a powerful and inspiring touch to this essential read. Shari Botwin, LCSW and author of "Thriving After Trauma," and "Stolen Childhoods: Thriving After Abuse."
