Duchamp was among the first to understand that in Control Societies, whose structures began to appear in art well before they did elsewhere, art as an insti- tution, art “in the social sense of the word,” as Duchamp defined it, offers no promise of emanci- pation, but instead represents a new technique for governing subjectivity. Art is “a habit-forming drug. It’s a sedative drug.”

It has its quasi naivete meanderings here and there, but grips your senses hard if you are already angry at ( and tired of ) the normativity of the daily capitalist pogrom stripping you off your personality at the expense of bogus mechanization.
Go get some good rest comrade ! the best time to move beyond the model of homo faber, beyond the vainglorious producer and the promethean promise of mastery over nature just dropped !

Son derece rahatlatıcı. Belki de bugün ile ilgili dünden daha fazla şey söylüyor. Zaten ne zaman Duchamp ile ilgili bir şey okusam içimi hem dev bir empati hem de -şimdiye baktığımda- dev bir antipati kaplıyor. Tek bir soru, SSK'sı dışarıdan mı yatıyormuş olabilir ama şayet yeterince kıvrak düşünebilirse insan, tembellik ederek de hayatta kalabilir.
