Rate this book
A lost civilization. A mind-bending technology. A journey beyond the limits of time and reality.

Ash Morris never expected his trip to Nepal to turn into a paranormal mystery. Tasked with finding Bruce, a man who vanished under strange circumstances, Ash soon learns the truth is far more unsettling—Bruce isn’t dead; he’s "gone back." But back to where?

Deep in the forbidden ruins of an ancient temple, Ash stumbles upon a mysterious device—an artifact that can transport a person through time and space using strands of hair as a conduit. Before he can fully comprehend its power, Ash is pulled into the unknown, awakening in a world that defies all logic.

Here, immortal beings rule over an advanced utopia where consciousness is the key to existence. But their past mistakes have condemned Earth to an endless cycle of suffering. As Ash uncovers the dark secrets behind humanity’s origins, he realizes the greatest question isn’t where he has arrived—but why he was sent there.

Blending metaphysical science fiction, ancient mysteries, and philosophical adventure, Return to the Infinite explores the thin line between technology and spirituality, destiny and free will, and what it truly means to transcend time. Can Ash find his way home before Earth’s fate is sealed forever?

Fans of hard science fiction, time-travel adventures, and metaphysical thrillers will be captivated by this thought-provoking journey into the unknown.

Ash Morris and his wife, Flora, gets a letter from a Professor Kim asking him to please find his son who's in the Nepal. So Ash goes and starts to investigate. Trying to find someone who could answer the question of where is Bruce. He offers a reward and finally a man steps forth and takes him to Bruce. Actually his grave. Ash digs the grave and there is Bruce. That is when the young man, Randy, starts to act weird and ask weird questions. When he realizes Bruce is truly dead he goes off the deep end. He leaves in the vehicle to run. Ash starts to walk and comes across a cellar like house. It is pristine inside. It's not a temple he knows for the area. He takes pictures. These pictures will be pivotal to the future investigations. As he gets ready to leave he's attacked. When he wakes he's in the dark and then hears a voice that sounds familiar but his brain is still rattled. He discovers that a holy object has been stolen. Then he hears a scuffle and a groan. The elder man is dying. Bain, the man he was interrogating, killed him. He takes the elders body elsewhere then returns to get Ash. But Ash gets the drop on him. Then Bain runs and ASh follows. He finally catches him with help from a passing car. He asks them to take him to a hospital and the young man to the cops. When he wakes he is in the hospital. Then some people come to take him to meet who he believes is the King of the country. There he finds the murderer who is smug. Then the King asks him to leave the country and forget what has happened. So he leaves but temporarily. When he reaches India he calls Flora and is told she left for South America to meet with Professor Bain. So he lets his butler know that something has come up and he can't meet her but to get a way to leave her a message. Then he calls two local historians of ancient Nepal history. Unfortunately neither seems to be able to help him and spend time arguing. He leaves them then spends a few weeks developing a new facade to inviltrate Nepal. He manages to do that and goes back to the temple and finds Randy. He takes him "prisoner".
Ash gets information out of Randy but sometimes it doesn't make sense until he learns the artifact is buried with Bruce's body. So they head back and he get the box out but what is inside is strange in that it looks like something from the future. Randy then goes on to explain about dreaming the same dream and they head to Kathmandu to find a room only they run into Bain. Then Randy goes after Bain and drops the box which spills it's contents. Now Ash has to listen to everything Randy has to say. He needs to piece the puzzle together and he needs information.
After dropping Randy off at a mental institute he returns to his hotel to find a message from Flora who tells him to come quickly. Then he calls home and Wilson tells him Flora;s message she left..to come quickly to South America because Bruce is back. So he goes back to ask the King for help. He arrives in South America to find that Professor Kim's labs are burnt. His wife and the professor are missing.
Now Ash has to find his wife, the professor and come to understand how Nepal's adventure fits into South America and the Professor.
Will he succeed?
Another fascinating adventure for Ash and his wife Flora.

Allow two days (or a very long one) for this dense, action-packed contemporary philosophical psychological science-fiction murder mystery fantasy adventure that travels to Nepal and the upper Amazon and explores best friends, betrayal, hair and its functions, and malevolence behind a guise of loyalty. Just to let you know, a gloomy day will enhance the soporific effect of some of the philosophical passages.
