The point of no return

Shattered by the torture he endured at the hands of a malevolent AI, Po finds himself back in a shipboard med bay while his brothers continue the fight against Pinnacle and its army of human drones.

On Earth, someone is killing Hegemons, while a jaded public cheers. A charismatic leader rises to fill the vacuum.

And the Scourge are on their way.

A species on the brink cannot permit one of its most experienced warriors to sit on the sidelines and convalesce.

Po must pull together the pieces of his obliterated mind and pick up his rifle once more. Humanity is now calling him to become something he never dreamed he would.

Get ready for this exciting next chapter in the Conscript series. If you're a fan of Marko Kloos' Frontlines or Ender's Game, you'll love this epic military scifi series.

Oh Wow! This book had me enthralled from start to finish. It starts
> with Po being held hostage for way too long. When he is finally found
> and removed from his cell, he is no more than skin and bones. My
> heart went out to him. We see him struggling through the
> rehabilitation until a Major comes in and offers him a way forward.
> But is he up for it yet? Could he do this? But it's what happens
> throughout the training and the abrupt stopping of training because of
> what's happening in Sovran and how Pinnacle has turned people
> throughout the site, including Marines, into bots. Scott Bartlett,
> you have done a wonderful job of continuing Po's adventures. I really
> look forward to what is going to happen next.

Good Read

The AI, Pinnacle, is spreading its control wider in the quadrant. Humanity and Allies are fighting with all they have to stop this AI from taking over. They have eliminated Pinnacle from Earth, but it’s not going well for the colonies. The fighting in space to stop Pinnacle is relentless. Humanity is loosing. Soldiers are dying at an unsustainable cost. Colonies and outposts are being overrun. Pinnacle is outsmarting their enemies, hijacking’s “secure” implants, turning humans into hostile drones, and finding ways to neutralize humanity’s equipment and plans. It’s not looking good for Earth and colonies.!

This book continues to grip the reader with fast paced action. The warfare practiced by the enemy is not just bullets and bombs but a war on the brains of the soldiers. The author continues to display a vivid imagination. The description of the battlefield and its surroundings create a deadly stage where the soldiers are tested over and over. At times the description of the action is almost overpowering the reader. I recommend this book to all adults.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The story is fast paced and keeps you riveted throughout. The author continues to flesh out the locales and the main characters of the story. He has created a truly evil antagonist and the marines have their hands full dealing with it. Po has been selected to try out to see if he can become a Raider, the next step up in his training. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and can’t wait for the next book!
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

The Conscript series has not failed to keep me entertained. Po's rise in the Marine Corp has been tough, but realistic.

Po Abbaro got rescued in the nick of time from the Pinnacle bots on Savron as he was being starved to death.
His recovery was slow but even then he got surprised with an offer he eventually could not refuse...to become a marine Raider.
And for Po the training was hell on earth revisited in so many ways.
And Savron awaits his return...even though set on course to the sun.
As a military thriller Recruit is an exhausting exercise of continuing resistance and survival that tends to haunt your continued contemplation as to what war in the future may be like as you follow the exploits of Po anxiously.
Enjoy
