A Wonderful Devotional…. and so much more

Not only is 'TRUST' a good daily devotional, it’s a ‘how to’ book… a very unique ‘How-To’ book. Using scripture, this book draws you into personal life issues but also leads you to know G_d is working, that you are not alone, He is there … always.

I love the ‘Reflexion’ at the end of each chapter as it has you doing just that, reflecting on what is bothering you. It reminds you not to isolate God…. to open up to Him, let Him work.

This devotional also does something I’ve never seen or read before. It intersects with fictional characters from a novel TK Chapin is writing exposing real-life situations and how G_d works. Reading that book (A Reason to Live) isn’t necessary, but seems like it will bring to life in book form the reality of issues we face and have to overcome. Brokenness is real, feeling doubt is real, mistakes and choices made can impact life a long time.

The TRUST devotional has me wanting to read the novel, (A Reason to Live). I want to see how it shows our Creator working in everyday life through these characters…. I’ve always said a good fiction will be based on reality.

I absolutely love this devotional that aligns with ‘Waves of Endless Love’. One of the reasons I am such a fan of this authors is that my faith is challenged while I enjoy a good inspirational story as in his stories there are embedded lessons where the readers learns alongside the protagonist. This devotional takes that to a whole new level with this bonus devotional drawing out application for us the readers learns alongside based on the characters in waves of endless love. Note this devotional could be read alone but it will be so much more meaningful if read with the book.

This was a great devotional tied to a book. You can read it independently of the book, but I had read the book and thought it helped to understand the man and woman mentioned in each devotional. The scriptures and short teachings tied together very well. The reflections and prayers at the end of each one allowed you to take some time thinking about what was said. It was a great expansion to the book.
