In between writing, daydreaming about their next tattoo, and reading Rumi, she works on zines and shares the necessity of poetry however she can.
“I want to unabashedly revel and fall into ecstasy with you. My life is warm with you in it.”
Through their words, you can tell Fin Rose Aborizk has so much love to give. All they want is someone to share that with, and when they get it, they’ll give the world in return. You go on such a journey with this book and with their words. You feel the pain of a love that is barely received and never returned, and the joy of the one that comes around to give everything and more. It’s so open and honest and you can’t help but connect and see how true Fin’s feelings are on the page. A perfect book for Valentine’s Day, whether you’ve found that love in someone special or are grieving one that you used to receive.
Words cannot describe how deeply I felt a connection reading this book. I even found my self sending a couple of poems to my partner like “look this is us” From start to finish it felt like I was peeking into the life of the author from being treated wrongly in a relationship to being able to find themselves loving again. I love how there is some songs written in the end. I tried to even sing them in my own tune for the fun of it. 😂
In This Macrocosm There Is A Rose by Fin Rose Aborizk is a collection so honest and raw, it basically moved me to tears.
Fin Rose’s recounting of heartbreak is something I felt very deeply in my chest; she did not pull her punches—and this remains true as the poetry moves on and evolves into new love: they make sure you can feel that love just as deeply as you felt the ache.
Reading pieces like Why Can’t I Just Live In Poetry?, I’m Just A Poet, The House Became Abandoned & Full Of Ghosts, Dreams Come True, and so many more—made me feel seen, comforted, like the words were wrapping their arms around my heart.
I sometimes feel like such a cynic, and if this is you too, you might think a collection of love poems is not for you—but In This Macrocosm There Is A Rose will make you wish you were the star that fell simply to smell the rose. There is not a single poem in this collection that won’t make you feel unburdened.
With this collection of poetry, Fin Rose wields a talent for touching the corners of your heart you didn’t know needed to be brought back to life.
To say I loved this book, simply wouldn’t do it justice—I feel like reading In This Macrocosm There Is A Rose healed something in me.
