Jax, a talented screenwriter, attends a literary conference in Las Vegas with her best friend, Lena. She’s determined to breathe life into her creativity. Meanwhile, Cage, a captivating real estate entrepreneur, arrives to seal a high-stakes business deal.
Fate, or maybe Sin’s City’s mischievous charm, brings them together at a blackjack table in a lavish casino. Their playful banter quickly spirals into something neither of them expected. Jax is captivated by Cage’s effortless confidence, while he’s drawn to her wit and fire—a chemistry so undeniable it feels like destiny dealt them a perfect hand.
But on their last morning together, reality looms large when Jax figures out Cage may have had an ulterior motive and maybe their meeting wasn’t happenstance. Can a love born in a whirlwind survive beyond a weekend fling in Vegas? Or will their weekend romance become nothing more than a beautiful gamble that didn’t pay off?
Sometimes, the greatest risk is opening your heart, and in a city built on chance, Jasmine and Marcus must decide if their love is worth going all in.
There was an instant attraction between Cage and Jax when they met in Vegas. The depth of their conversations while they were getting to know one another was crucial to their growing connection. The storyline contained secrets, treachery and deceit. I can't stand a vindictive person and Vincent was that character in this book. I was glad glad when he finally came around. Jax did get on my nerves with her waffling back and forth about being with Cage. I loved the friendship and support that Lena provided to Jax during this time. I also loved how Cage and Jax didn't let the distance between them interfere in their relationship. This was a great contemporary novella that you will enjoy as well as I did.
21 Hearts is a charming story by Torryn Santana. In Las Vegas, the theme is always risk, and Torryn doesn’t disappointment. What starts as a fling has the propensity to transform into something deeper if Jax and Cage can overcome secrets, lies, and betrayal.
The ending is unexpected yet beautifully captivating and satisfying. Lovers of true contemporary romance will enjoy clever dialogue, multidimensional characters, and an intriguing plot set in the tempting city of sin.
This was a cute story. She kept getting on my nerves though. Second guessing everything. Then making up her mind just to turn around and confess to him what she’s second guessing about. Like girrrrl.
