The Lord has a stewardship for His daughters in the work of salvation, and only we can do it. Women are called to be glue. We create the bonds of unity and kindness. We reach out and include people, we find meaningful things for each person to do, we make sure the right things are said and done so things keep going. Strengthening others is evidence of our conversion to the Lord.
When I first got this for the ward Mother’s Day gift, I was like oh great just more spiritual stuff lol. But I actually really enjoyed it!! (Need to make spiritual things a bigger priority honestly)
My favorite part was the “Glue to Bind” about how most of the time the most meaningful things we can do to make a difference are the little things!
“But that evening, the five couples sat around the large dining room table and shared stories over soup and bread, juice and cake. I realized it was Sister Cook's gentle ministry that laid the foundation for the rest and faith and happiness we all felt that night. We women are often like Jeri Cook. We throw our arms around the people who come and go. We have a refrigerator door full of pictures of people we love. I have no doubt each one of us would move the earth for the people in those photos. But so often we don't want to scare them with our power to bless and heal, so we move the world in increments of soup and cake. They may never even recognize the universe has been realigned for their good. It may be that our mother does glorious things right in front of us every day so often that she blinds us with com-monness. Maybe she serves the whole world soup and cake every night. I wish I had a fancy name for it, but women are called to be glue. They create the bonds of unity and kindness. They reach out and include people, they find meaningful things for each person to do, they make sure the right things are said and done so things keep going, they make it fun, and they make us laugh.”
^^ my first time using the copy text feature in my camera app! So cool the phone can do that!
I thought I had finished this tiny booklet a month ago, then found it only partly read. Being only 15 pages, I had it finished in minutes. But it packs a punch of little truths that women need to hear, especially in this chaotic world. Sharon Eubank sets small untruths in their place (that tend to be the undoing of women) by telling the actual truths instead, using this formula: "What is the starch, protein, and sauce of your testimony?" The options are countless and all are wonderfully needed! A great little book to help you see how needed you are as a loving, gentle woman in these last days!
This short pamphlet was such a treat to read! Sharon explains how all our differences as women in talents, circumstances, marital status, looks, economic status, trials, etc. are not stumbling blocks, but building blocks to come to our own spiritual conversion as well as helping other women become converted.
We can do this if we have eyes to see, discipline to create, and glue to bind! Loved it!
