黒執事 [Kuroshitsuji] #15

Black Butler, Vol. 15

Rate this book
When students fail to return home from an English boarding school that numbers several elite bloodlines among its student body, Earl Ciel Phantomhive and his indomitable butler, Sebastian, infiltrate the lush grounds and stately halls of this distinguished house of learning at Her Majesty's behest. But this cannot be accomplished without some masterful artifice. The butler takes on the role of tutor, his master that of student - parts to which both are more than just a little accustomed. As their dorm lives of deceit begin, they turn their eyes upon the conspicuous and colourful waistcoats of the four school prefects, from whose attention nothing at the school escapes...

5/5 estrellas.

Seeing Ciel in a real school was fun. The best part was the art. The author is really masterful, and I appreciated her work so much! The school uniforms are wonderful, and it is like cuddling art in your own hands. Amazing, right? And the story is taking its own sweet time to progress. I feared that this would be a short one, resolved in one volume, but I am glad to have more time to spend in this school. It is intriguing, I love school settings, and I am looking forward to the next volume!

Kuroshitsuji,Vol.15, Ch. 68-72

Ciel attends boys-only Weston College (mix of Hogwarts and real British independent boarding schools) in order to investigate some mystery. He has to deal with school boys intrigues, school's discipline and get in to the top of hierarchy. He even is desperate enough to seek Soma's help.

Ciel's rival Maurice the handsomest boy in college, is one of the best villains in Kuroshitsuji. And he is only human boy!

Not so much Sebastian/Ciel in this volume as Ciel most of his time has to spent with other students. And it is interesting to see Ciel dealing with boys his age.

In the next volume we will probably see Lizzy as her oldest brother is student of Weston too.

Art as always is beautiful and looks like Ciel has grown up since first volumes.

Take a look what our favourite demon is wearing! Oh Yana Toboso!
Sebastian is not only professor and warden but also priest at Weston and we see him hearing confession and giving absolution to one of the students. Photobucket

Loving seeing Ciel in a school setting, along with Sebastian as a tutor/housemaster. Physically laughed out loud at the, um... 'time-accurate language', shall we call it? I love this manga.

3.5 rounded down because the translator's choice of a certain word is a hate term for gay people and they should've picked a different word

This is the fifteenth volume in the Black Butler series. This continues to be an incredibly engaging and entertaining manga series. Some parts are laugh out loud funny and the mystery is incredibly engaging.

Ciel has enrolled at an English boarding school at the request of her Majesty. Students have been disappearing from the school and Ciel and Sebastian are supposed to figure out what is going on. However, competition between the school’s houses is fierce and Ciel will have to use all his wits (and lots of manual labor from Sebastian) to win enough favor to finally speak to the Headmaster. Sebastian has an incredibly busy go of it as he is not only posing as a teacher, but also spying on students for Ciel, and doing all of Ciel’s chores as well.

This volume reminds a bit of Harry Potter without the magic but with all the house to house competition. It was wonderful fun and incredibly entertaining.

Ciel was a bit of a brat throughout (and a bit hypocritical). However just when I started to get annoyed about how he takes advantage of Sebastian, we are reminded that Ciel is on a mission from the Queen herself and leads a life of much more danger and importance than his rival petty students…

There is a lot of focus on the four prefects of the school, who seem to rule the roost. All of these characters are beautifully drawn and painfully intriguing; especially the prefect of the Violet Wolf house. I really enjoyed the new characters and am enjoying the new story line.

Overall an absolutely wonderful continuation of this series. Toboso continues to do an excellent job of keeping both the plot and the characters fresh and interesting. The illustration remains top notch and is a pleasure to look. This is one of my favorite manga series. I would recommend to those who enjoy paranormal manga as well as mysteries and historical fantasies.

He's a 10 but the writer constantly has him 2 seconds away from committing a statutory offence.

Let's be real how many priest / professor Sebastian fanfictions did this spawn? 🤨🤨 The fact he's a professor and then priest style taking confessions like okay father.😭

It's very concerning how hot he is in this role like I'm no better than a man at this point I fear.

I'm gonna be real honest I knew from the last volume when this arc was introduced that I wasn't gonna give a single fuck and here I am... not giving a single fuck.

Ciel deals with nasty bullshit bullying and then is a menace himself, as he works to get close to the school prefects. The mission seems soo lame and having to do all this Hogwarts school stuff is even lamer.

It's just a dumb ass boys club with boys being nasty little shits. It fills me with such displeasure to have to read a bunch of boys sitting around with their heads up their own asses about their importance.🙄

At least it holds my attention more than the fuckass curry competition AND we don't have to cut to all the servants being shitty at being servants. It's the little things.

The latest English translation of Black Butler from Yen Press as of this point and I am not disappointed in the least. For those that are looking for a manga with pretty boys this series might be a good choice for you but for me I enjoy not only the art but the unique character interaction of the various characters. My only regret is a lack of Elizabeth whom I found an all new respect for after the 13th volume. Of course being in an all boys school to investigate the latest mysteries would make it hard t explain her presence. :)

In my humble opinion (or perhaps not so humble)my favorite part of the book would be a spoiler I wish to avoid. Let's just say it was when Ciel took care of business with a trouble maker as only he and Sebastian can. :)

TW: gay slur

SO the translation I read used the word 'fag' throughout and I just....ugh. Otherwise it's an interesting mystery where Sebastian is more on the backburner for now as Ciel takes the lead.

This one had so many scenes were I couldn't stop myself from squealing, and I screen-captured Ciel leaning with his back on the door of Sebastian's room calling him Mister Michaelis OHMYGOD T_T
I definitely fangirled.
The story was cool! It had many refrences and I LOVE how Sebastian nags that he's too busy I love how he goes n sighs and how he never fails to tease Ciel! XD
I'm quite curious about the secret of this school and what lies behind the Violet house. Or maybe it's someone else..? The Headmaster's real suspicious too! >~<
Can't wait to read more.

Now I have time to review some Black Butler volumes lol. This is the next part in the "school days" arc that I am not too fond of. Ciel was cute in his little uniform, and it was funny when he got back at that little shit Cole. Other than that there was not a whole lot to comment on here.

This School arc is quite fascinating! I've heard there is some amazing cricket match later on in this arc, so I'm impatiently waiting to read it soon! Onwards to the next volume!! :)

Oh-la-la! I am doing the happy dance now... it's been a while since I've read a KS volume. I've read this one smiling the whole time. Once again I was in awe with the art; this mangaka is seriously DA BEST EVAH.

Ciel as a pure, nice, innocent student... ha! He is as Machiavellian as ever. And Sebastian has to deal his duties as a Professor as well as a Butler. I want a Professor like him too, awww. The Houses are beautiful, and the Prefects, so mysterious. And it was great to see Soma back, because he is funny. There were a couple of guys who, at first, I thought were girls, which confused me cuz, wasn't Weston College a All-Boys School? This Cole and Joanne Harcourt (and the name was not helping either). Oh, and one's always learning something new everyday: I've learnt that "fag" means, in British English, like a servant for older boys in schools.

So, no blood in this volume, and there is barely any violence; a huge contrast to the latter volumes. But there is definitely that Gothic feeling that characterized KS.

And on a totally relevant note, there is a new Live Action Teaser. Of this manga. Of Sebastian. Yeah, right. I like you, Hiro, I really do (as a Nanba-sempai, he did a great job), but this is a huge no. NO, NO, NO. Why, people? Why!

All that needs to be said about this volume is that Sebastian is KILLING IT in that headmasters outfit and glasses. That alone makes this worth a read.

Okay, but to not be 100% superficial, I'll mention that the story was good too. I loved Sebastian getting pissed off at Ciel--"I am busy too!!" It's always a treat whenever Sebastian acts like a real person (demon?) and shows some emotion other than being confident and occasionally snarky.

And as for the brief return of Prince Soma.......okay, I'll admit that he's grown on me. He's less annoying in the anime and watching him in that made me able to tolerate him in the manga. Now I rather like him; I think his character just takes some time to get used to.

And the artwork......just cannot get enough of it, it's freaking gorgeous!!

Can I just say the art in this one was exceptionally well done? I mean have you seen the art for chapter titles. OMG are they beautiful. Very expressive. Anyway, with this series, I like some and not some volumes. And with this one, its nice coming back to it, not minding the wait for the next volume. And Sebastian I freaking love you! This volume was much better.

Wow. I feel bad for Sebastian, he is worked so hard. This is getting really interesting. But what just happened?!

Reread: I love seeing Ciel in a school setting where he has to actually associate with those his own age. It’s too funny!
