Sera Kalihan was used to tragedy at a very young age. Losing her parents not only severed her family, but it also cheated her from her rightful place as Alpha of her pack. When her uncles give the Alpha title to her younger brother, she is turned into the fatal Wolf Warrior. Known by all as a brutal killer, she had only a few friends to whom mean everything to her. When a threat to her life appears, her brother sends her away to a new pack, where she gets a little more than she bargains for. The Alpha of the Pack is very apprehensive when it comes to Sera, but he allows her entrance to his pack out of mere curiosity. When her uncle threatens her new pack, she risks her life to save both packs that hold refuge in her heart. Along the way, Sera realized that she is more important than she could have ever guessed, and her power surpasses all. Will she be able to push aside her personal insecurities and stand up against her uncle to save everyone she loves?
DNF ing for now at least. The story has a lot of promise but good grief I feel like I am reading script for a play. Very little emotion translates to the reader, we are told to feel but can't....SO MUCH TELLING. Also I don't understand why the uncle has so much power, there is very little foundation for the super amazing-never lost a fight warrior to constantly get beaten by someone her wolf says is inferior but wait....theres two measly body guards! Get real. All kinds of wolves in the pack support her, she has him on the practice floor and could have killed him before the bodyguards reached her but all it takes is one growl and she steps back.
Evil uncle repeatedly beats and humiliates great hero warrior in front of everyone on bogus accusations and no one, not one would back her up if she turned on him? Yeah right. Evil uncle also submits to her brother who is supposedly a puppet but if he submits, by pack law the brother could have called him out in public and he would have had to stop beating the wonderful warrior or challenge for Alpha which he doesn't want to do...So wheres the great dilemma?
Also the jumps...all over the place...its like time warps with very little connection between. Meh i may try it again eventually since its on my kindle but its painful.
This was fine? I guess? I think there are a lot enough truly wonderful books on this site for this one to be truly memorable since the themes of mateship and pack abuse are rampant in the genre, and I don't think the author did much with either. But! The writing was done well enough that I would for sure come back to them with the promise of a book with a more interesting premise. ALSO P.S. I am really starting to despise this strange fasnication with having very long detailed accounts of women being abused in a fantasy setting. It seems voyeuristic and clearly for the entertainment of the reader, and every time it's done, it puts a sour taste in my mouth. The abuse spans for much of the first quarter of the book and it felt unnecessarily long and traumatic. There are other ways to have the reader feel sympathy for the main character.
When this story starts its about a young daughter and her parents...which quickly becomes a nightmare. Sera is an Alpha without the recourse of being an Alpha. Her parents death leaves her and her brother in the hands of an insane adopted uncle. Said uncle has made Sera a killer for him and his followers, and only Sera's mate can save them. When her brother sends her away to protect her she finally finds her mate, Koda. But her past deeds are not something that he can forgive. Does love find a way? Does Sera find a way to destroy her insane Uncle and protect all of her family. A delightful story. Can't wait to read the next book.
Sera has been abused by her evil uncle, and forced to be a were-assassin. Her brother sends her to another pack where she finds her mate Koda.
Book one of series. Not a bad shifter romance, but it's written really choppy and it feels like almost like reading notes or highlights of a story. It’s around 200 pages and free on KU. There’s quite a lot of action going on.
Hard to read, lots of things that do not make sense at all It is a teenager that sometimes seems like a 30 yo , a brother that sometimes is a friend and then at others, he is her enemy, and like these is the whole book with situations that are not really like that
It was a good book and kept me interested because I liked the storyline, but the writing and grammar kind of sucked. So it was good but not great per say.
This story felt disjointed. I did not have a connection to the characters. It felt like it was lacking depth in the storyline and with the characters. There seem to be a lot of detail about the environment, emotions, and background scenery but details about the plot were glossed over at best. I was hoping for more detail about the ghost wolf, why she gets captured all the time, and then the climax was over so quickly that I felt severely let down.
This is the first of what I can only say is one awesome read!! The writer pulls you right into the story line, and keeps you there from beginning to the end! I fell in love with Sera and cannot wait to get the next book to find out how she and Koda find their happy ever after!! you have to buy this book!
I really enjoyed the book and look forward to the next. My reason for only giving 4 stars is the amount of mistakes in the book. It did cause me to have to reread in order to follow the storyline. I really hope you find a proof reader for your future books, as you really have a gift for writers in my opinion!
I got about 80% through and had to stop. the story isn't bad, the events and characters could actually make a pretty interesting book. The execution could just use some work, it feels rushed and flat. There isn't enough time or details put into events to really make them seem as important as they should.
OK I felt a little lost through the whole book. The premises was great and it was defiantly not the author s fault that I was lost. It is a good book I personally just need a little more more in my protagonist. I have never published anything so to be honest what the hell do I know. Good story just not for me but give it a try for your self
I enjoyed reading this book. It was new and different. The story was interesting and I liked the characters. There were some twists I wasn't expecting and I was satisfied with the ending. Although, I am now ready for book 2! Left me hanging :)
Loved the characters and the flow of the story. A warrior trained to be a killer and having no choice. Failing is not an option if you wish no harm to come to your family and friends. Meet a warrior goddess and her will to fight to stay alive
like reading cliff no like reading cliff notes. all the dialogue was rushed. scenes that would develop a character, skipped. and the story was good, kind of, a little, at the beginning...for like a minute. and the ending- omg lame. with here brother, and that scene in the ocean. too much.
An excellent idea and mostly well executed. I found some of the chapter transitions a bit confusing and rushed. It took me a few to catch up sometimes, but overall I enjoyed the story and am anxious to read the next one.
I enjoyed it, but I did feel that some of the scenes needed more development. Some of the fights were over before they even started and the rapid jumping from one scene to the next bugged me a little. Still a good read though.
werewolves in more of classic sense with instant soul deep mating. true deep love . add some bad guys and rough childhood.oh and the presence of the goddess.. no spoilers. loved this story
I really enjoyed this book! There are some editing issues, but the characters, story and everything are GREAT! I absolutely cannot wait to read book 2!
Holy moly this was a rollercoaster. I wanted to ugly cry at some spots. The world building and character development…chefs kiss. I can’t wait for more.
