A marriage of convenience between best friends Cameron and Trevor turns into more when Cameron realizes he might not be straight after all. But is Cameron ready to experience being a 'hot twink' for Trevor and their neighbour Marlon?
I'm letting my best friend and this older man who's practically a stranger take my body. Because I want to submit to them. Because I want them to use me until there's nothing left of me.
Curious Cameron is a quick, smutty read with friends-to-husbands-to-lovers, biawakening, virgin MC, open use and sharing. I'm a sucker for fake-married stories and so I grabbed this arc right away. I enjoyed the concept of the book and the spicy parts of the book were good as well. I wanted a little more in terms of characterization and a greater focus on the relationship between Trevor and Cameron rather than side characters - I'm referring to their friends-to-lovers journey, not the part where they bring in Marlon- as their interactions were my favourite parts of the book. J.J. Jude portrayed Cameron's character quite well (his ADHD diagnosis in particular) but I wanted more from Trevor's character. Overall it was an entertaining read.

This quick read smutty book has all the tropes. . Fake marriage. Straight boy. Best friends to lovers. Virgin. Only one bed. Age gap with threesome dude.

This story is so hot and so much fun to read. It just erotica and doesn’t claim to be anything else. It was free, but it’s turned me on (pun intended) to a new author. I’ve already bought one of JJ Jude’s other stories. If you like gay awakening and Dom/Sub stories I highly recommend it.

Thank you to the author and publisher for this ARC. This was a hot spicy short novella. Cameron and Trevor are perfect for each other. If you’re looking for high spice and minimal plot stop right here - this has it for you with some light BDSM and some degradation. This was a fun short spicy read and I enjoyed how Trevor helped Cameron discovered what he likes. Trevor already knew what he likes and his husband is perfect for him.

This was a fun, spicy and short novella. The premise was interesting and I felt like we got a good amount of background despite the length. I loved that Trevor and Cameron were childhood best friends, so there was a lot of history between them. I really enjoyed their dynamic, I also really loved Trevor always trying to protect and take care of Cameron. There was a great amount of really good spice in this, but be aware that this novella falls on the kinkier side of things. I personally loved every kink in this novella.
Definitely a fun new series and I'm excited about the next story already.

I loved this! It’s mostly smut but there was enough moments of sweetness too that I enjoyed the connection between Cameron and Trevor. Also, I really do love a best friend to lovers romance so I am not surprised I ate it up here too.
Yet for the moments not sex related — can we talk about the ADHD rep? It’s not the central focus but I really connected to Cam’s overwhelm in the kitchen. I’ve been there (as someone with AuDHD), so I felt for him there.
If you like the kinks mentioned above, give this a try! And I can’t wait to read Julian’s story.

I love the fake relationship trope- especially in best friends- and I really like that the reasoning was for Cam to be on Trevor's health insurance to get his medication, and so that Trevor could be moved from the barracks to housing. But while Trevor was comfortable being with Cam, Cameron was nervous and felt like a fraud for the lie and worried about what would happen if anyone found out. I liked Trevor's calming energy and the bond between them.
"I don't date and I'm not looking to start up that white picket life."
I raise an eyebrow. "Trev… this house literally has a white picket fence."
He laughs. "Look, I'm being real with you, Cam. You're my best friend and you're the most important person in the whole world to me. If I wasn’t married to you, I wouldn’t be married to anyone... What we have together… this is real to me. Is it real to you?"
I breathe deeply. I take it in and let it go. "Yeah," I croak out with a fast nod. "It's real."
Cameron began to notice Trevor more in a way beyond just friendship and became curious. Their intimate scenes were hot, and while Cam was shy, the communication between them was good. These two were really sweet together and I loved seeing them fall in love (well, seeing Cam fall in love as Trevor had been in love with him for a long time). 5 stars.

Wow, what a way to kick off a series! I cannot wait to meet the other hot twinks but Cameron is so sweet and Trevor is hot and knows how to handle his man.
When we meet Cameron, he comes off as a hot mess but he is adjusting to his new ADHD diagnosis and recently needing to leave college. His best friend, Trevor is a military man who is happily and openly gay, a true all-American man. Trevor believes in Cameron and wants what is best for him so he proposes marriage; access to good healthcare, security, and a steady routine to help him be the best he can be. Cameron seems like a normal straight guy though he is on the smaller and prettier side but happening upon his "husband" watching a very specific video, everything he thought he knew was quickly thrown out the window. Trevor happens upon his "husband" playing and exploring his body, and everything goes from zero to one hundred. Cameron is willing to slip into the role that Trevor seeks in an apartment but he is quite inexperienced Trevor knows exactly how to break his husband into the life.
This story is hot, short, and sexy! There are so many fun elements but my favorite is the free use, it is so underutilized in spicy novellas. It was perfect and blended into the story seamlessly. Bring on the rest of the hot twinks!

Cameron’s journey from straight-identifying hot mess to a tender, curious house spouse is both hilarious and touching. His chemistry with Trevor, his gay best friend-turned-fake-husband, is electric right from the start. But what really makes this book shine is the emotional honesty that builds between them beneath all the steamy experimentation. There's a beautiful tension between their long-standing friendship and the new, very physical connection developing between them.

So I read book 2 before this and while I believe that one is still the best so far imo, this was entertaining and fun as well, although too short.
The idea of a 'straight' man realizing he really isn't after he fake married his hay best friend is great, and the addition of kink discovery along the way seemed awesome. Unfortunately, I think the fast pacing didn't allow the story to be as compelling as book 2.
The dynamic changing between MCs from friends to something else happened really quickly, and I wished they had more time between them only, before getting to the sharing kink. The sex scenes but were still hot, especially because MC was basically inexperienced with men. I wanted more of the sharing and free use though.
Overall, this was a quick and engaging short read that delivers most of what it promises and needed more pages but it was fun anyway.

I was super excited when I read the teasers about this book and so when it became available, I jumped on it. This is a novella about Cameron, a former art student and straight, and Trevor, who is in the army and gay. They have been BFFs their entire lives and when Cam needed a way to afford his meds and Trevor wanted a way to escape the barracks, a quickie Las Vegas elopement seemed like a great solution. They started living in family housing in a neighborhood where Trevor has a number of friends already. By chance, Cameron makes certain discoveries about Trevor's sexual likes and his curiosity is piqued. Things just heat up from there! This is pretty spicy with a fair bit of kink - so hot! There is some plot, plot character development, and some romance as well, but the spice is definitely emphasized and I was here for it! It was definitely fun to read about their journey to HEA and I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Sooo this book is basically a hundred pages long sex fantasy.
It still manages to have quite a lot of story there. Well, maybe not a lot, but enough to get to know the characters. We get some backstories and a glimpse of their life and some side characters introduced.
Cameron, assuming being straight, marries his gay friend Trevor for mutual (non sexual) benefits.
Cameron one night sees things he wasn’t supposed to see and realizes he might not be as straight as he thought.
What follows is basically a sex fest. Full of teaching and figuring things out. They share and fulfill fantasies they didn’t know they had before.
I really loved that Cameron didn’t struggle much with his bi-awakening and his enjoyment of sex. He and Trevor found out pretty fast that they were very compatible and that their friendship can be something much more, without angst or doubt.
The book was amazing to get out of my head for a bit and simply dive into an easy world and enjoy some hot, smutty scenes.

The titular character, Cam, has been diagnosed with ADHD and dropped out of art school. His gay best friend, Trevor, is in the military and they married to help each other out. Now, you know it's not going to stay that way!
This is a novella so it moves very fast, especially once Cameron's curiosity kicks into gear. Trevor is happy to help, although I did like the scene where he had second thoughts.
A quick, fun, lighthearted read that is full of spice. A great introduction to the series and I hope to read more. Definitely recommended by me.

This book has an intriguing premise - two best friends entering a marriage of convenience that turns into something more - however, the story lacks the depth needed to fully immerse readers in the emotional stakes. There's chemistry between the characters, for sure, but their jump from friends to lovers was too quick for me, especially because there didn't seem to be any real discussion. And then the jump from lovers to a super kinky plot line without must discussion or even any more experience for Cameron was borderline uncomfortable.
Cameron's backstory - flunking out of art school and struggling with his ADHD - is mentioned but never really explored, other than a few scenes that felt like they were pulled from a TikTok video. It would have added more weight to his decisions if we'd seen those struggles play out rather than just being told about them. Similarly, the moment that he and Trevor decide to get married - how did that happen? What was the conversation like? What did their parents think? Beyond the convenience of family housing and health benefits, how did they justify the arrangement to themselves? These are all questions that could have been answered even in a novella, and not doing so made the setup feel a little weak.
A deeper exploration into their evolving feelings would have made this book a little more compelling. I know this is a novella meant to be low-angst fluff. But I guess I still expected a little more.

This was a short, steamy, and super fun read!

Super hot!!!

Trevor was a serving soldier and he really wanted to live out of barracks so it worked well for both of them . What Cameron didn’t know was that Trevor had always had feelings for Cameron but knew he was straight so never tried anything that could break their friendship. But now that they are living together anything could happen.
I have got to say this book is addictive and very passionate. It does revolve around a certain kink, but boy is this one very hot read. This is definitely a book not to read on the bus. Super excited for the next book in the series.

I need to go back and read every book J.J. Jude has written! This one, Curious Cameron, is the perfect combination of smutty and sweet. It’s exactly the kind of book I needed and wanted to blow through in one day. I’m making it a point to ARC more queer authors’ queer books and this one is definitely going to merit a future reread.
I wanted something simple and light and he definitely delivered. It’s also sexy as all get out. I was cackling on the phone with my bestie like “not them one bed troping themselves!” Plus a fake marriage on top?! Classic. It’s just such a cute and hot story and I’m very glad it’s a series because I didn’t get nearly enough of it.

If you like kinky hot twink stories, this one is for you. I enjoyed immensely this novella about two best friends Cameron and Trevor, who both has needs and decide they way to satisfy those needs is a fake marriage. Of course Trevor is gay and in love with Cameron who he believes his straight. A well written coming out story for Cameron and such love and protection from Trevor made this a great read. It has something for everyone---kink, romance, kink, spice, and did I say kink. Great main characters (and great neighborhood of friends as well). Some really funny but poignant parts had me reading the book quickly. I did receive an ARC and leave this honest review

I honestly didn't think I would I love a couple as much as I love Sir and Pretty Boy (J.J's His Alpha Male Shares Him series) but my word these two are delicious!
Curious Cameron is a fun and filthy MM romance with some sharing time to add to the fun.

Cameron and Trevor, besties since childhood. Trevor never hid the fact that he was gay but has to lay low in the Army. Straight Cameron just diagnosed with ADHD drops out of art school. Trevor who has always looked out for Cameron, marries him so that he can have health benefits but he has always been in love with Cam. When Cam catches Trev watching kinky porn it opens up that word for the two of them. I thought the use of the phrase "hot twink" was annoyingly repetitive but overall it was a short, fun kinky read.

I am a huge fan of the friends to lovers trope and had high hopes after reading the blurb for this, unfortunately it didn't quite meet with expectations. I have read a lot of mm books before and this was the first time I dealt with the "hot twink" premise, and I don't think I'm a big fan of it, but I'm not that big a fan of any mm+. In my opinion, the books would have been better just with Trevor and Cameron, they made it hot enough. I will definitely give this author another try, but probably not the "hot twink" books.
