I loved the first book in this series (The Payback Plan by Amy Andrews) so my hopes were pretty high going into this one & let me tell you, I was not disappointed!

If you’re a fan of workplace romance or enemies-to-lovers, this one is perfect for you. Add in a good slow burn and a perfect amount of spice… 🤌🏼🤌🏼

The story starts with the fmc, Bella, stuck in an airport after giving her seat to an elderly woman desperate to get back home to see a grandchild. This is where Bella’s main character trait becomes known… she’s willing to do anything for other people and has a want to help fix problems.

As she waits for the next available flight, she finds herself with a small group of women at a little sweets shop called Just Desserts. A bond soon forms as each girl realizes they’ve been wronged by their former lovers and decide it’s time for a little bit of revenge. They formulate a plan where each girl gets paired with a different ex to wreak havoc on their life and show them what it felt like to be hurt and betrayed.

Bella is paired with artist Chance Miller, her new friend Astrid’s, ex. What did Chance do to deserve this payback revenge you may ask? Everything seemed perfectly normal between him and Astrid until one day… his wife comes knocking on their hotel door, letting secrets out of the closet and breaking Astrid’s heart—leaving her feeling like a home-wrecker.

Join Bella as she gets hired underneath Chance and begins to mess with his daily routine and life. What starts as small things, like swapping sugar out for salt on the coffee bar and lowering his office seat ever so slightly, slowly turns into a bigger ordeal as she plans to bring his career down… that is until one of his close friends opens up to her about what really happened all those months ago regarding Astrid. My absolute favorite part of this book was how Bella found her voice through this journey. After feeling like she was second place her whole life, and that her feelings and emotions didn’t matter, Chance helped her find a part of herself that had been hidden long ago. She learned to take a stand for what she wanted and was able to realize that it wasn’t her job to smooth everyone’s problems out. She learned how to live for HERSELF and value HER passions and wants.

I rate this one a solid 4.5 ⭐️. The only downside was that it’s written in third POV and I really dislike that because it’s harder to connect to the characters imo.

Book two in this series and I loved it, four young woman meet at a Chicago airport when there is a snow storm over champagne and cake they become best friends and plan a revenge plot against the four men who have hurt them, Paige was book one now we have Bella who is out to get revenge on Astrid’s ex, Artist Chase Miller, let the fun begin.

Bella Carmichael is a socialite who had her world turned upside down when her fiancé jilted her at the alter by text message, now she is going to get back at her new friend Astrid’s ex and she has just landed a job at the art gallery that Chase is director of in New York as Communications director, she has a few things up her sleeve, work hard, upset his daily routine and put the wheels in motion to tarnish his reputation and sanity, the only thing is that he sets her heart aflutter and the more she gets to know him the more it flutters.

Chase has been through a lot in his life and Bella is seeing that now and now understands a little more of what went on in his and Astrid’s relationship, has she done the right thing? And can she set the wheels in motion to repair what she has done without losing her heart totally to Chase?

I loved this one so much I loved Bella and Chase and the wonderful characters that work at the gallery, it is moving, emotional, fun and it is one that I highly recommend, it was a joy to read, it is a lovely romance that left me smiling and eager to read the next one in the series.

Soo third person pov ruined it. As for the spice….it felt creepy. In theia person it feels like someone it watching them. Soo that kinda ruined the book.
I loved the girls friendship.
WTF was people giving chase a hard time for being upset and betrayed after Bella got that report out??? HE HAS A RIGHT TO BE. But ofc, he’s the asshole for having feelings.
Bella annoyed me quite a bit throughout the book aswell.
Paige broke every THE rule of girl code and got with Bella’s EX FIANCÉ WHO LEFT HER AT THE ALTER AND MESSAGED HER THEY ARE OVER!!!

This is an ARC review. I want to thank Pippa Roscoe and Boldwood Books for allowing me the chance to read this book ahead of release day! Getting to read book two in this Karma Club Series I am so very honored. These books have absolutely grabbed a piece of my heart and I’ve fallen in love with all of these women and their stories. Getting to read the love stories after their failed revenge against their exes in the most humorous way is literally everything.

In this book Bella and Chase were a great match. I wanted to dislike Chase so much for cheating on his wife with Astrid without even giving Astrid a choice to be the other woman and the wife a choice to leave before being cheated on. But that was absolutely blown out the water. He truly is a nice guy just trying to rebuild himself and his art gallery. Bella is just everything with her love of red velvet cake to her being able to find her voice louder and louder throughout this book. And all of this starts with the absolute pettiest way to make friends! I cannot wait for the remaining 2 books in this series!

I loved the first Karma book series and I was so excited to read this one and continue the story through Bella’s POV.

The idea overall had me hooked: Bella Carmichael is left at the altar, totally humiliated, then ends up forming “The Karma Club” with three other women who were also betrayed. They pick an ex to “get even” with. Bella’s mission is to take on Chase, who supposedly cheated on her friend Astrid. Bella gets a job at Chase’s new art gallery to mess things up behind his back. But of course, things get messy. She’s not ready for how much chemistry there would be, or to find out the truth behind the facts.

What I liked: Bella is fun. She’s smart, stylish, and not afraid to be devious — but also she has real feelings, guilt, and self-doubt, which makes her more than just a revenge-machine. Chase is frustrating (in a good way) — moody, artistic, hot, wounded, with layers that you peel back slowly. The tension builds — the slow-burn is real. The friendship between the women in The Karma Club is one of the best parts, for sure. Their conversations, their gossip, and how they support each other gives the story heart. The art gallery setting adds charm and makes things feel elevated—not just another fake-date or mistaken identity trope. Also, the emotional twist about what really happened with Chase & Astrid is handled decently.

What bothered me: the pacing can drag. It took me months to go through the first half of this book. I always read like 2-3 pages after reading another book but it never got me in enough to continue to read it. I kept waiting for something big to happen between Bella and Chase, but it’s slow. Very slow. It’s okay if you like that, but sometimes I felt impatient. The second half of the book I was able to go faster and things picked up, which I’m glad! The story unfolded better, the only thing that annoyed me a little was the miscommunication trope showing up and it always gets me angry. Bella’s sabotage sometimes felt mean rather than clever, and there were times I nearly didn’t buy why Chase didn’t just clarify things earlier. Also, the dual POV is good, but sometimes I got confused when it switched mid scene or chapter.

Overall, it’s fun, dirty little revenge plans, lots of emotional growth, and a romance that feels earned. It’s not perfect, but for someone who loves slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers, adult chaotic romance with a lot of sass—it nails most parts.

The premise of How To Get Even is what attracted me to the book, namely that 4 women bond over bad relationships and come up with a plan to get even. This is Bella’s book. Bella lands a job at an art gallery whose director is none other than Chase Miller, the man who cheated and lied to her new friend Astrid. This is a straightforward task to Bella: get in, irritate, undermine and besmirch Chase’s reputation, the only thing that seems to matter to him. She didn’t expect to like the job or her coworkers, or unearth a side of herself that she’d long ago buried. She’s left reeling when some information comes to light that changes everything she’s doing.

I liked Bella. She was smart and capable. Chase, on the other hand, was temperamental, blunt and sometimes rude. It took a little bit to warm up to him. The pair had great chemistry. I liked the friendship between Bella, Astrid, Paige and Sienna. They were very supportive and caring of one another. Chase, in contrast, felt a bit like an island. He’d pushed everyone away save for Tej, who simply refused to accept any distance. I enjoyed watching him open up to Bella and watching Bella learn to stand up for what she wanted. The backdrop of the gallery provided some really interesting touches to the plot, enriching it just like art enriches.

I loved this book. It was an excellent continuation of the series. It has been my favourite so far. I loved the concept and the levels of deviousness!!!

The cover for this is really well designed. I love that it's drawings of people on the cover and not actual real people. The colours are excellent and they just pop. They help make it a very eye catching and visually pleasing cover.

The books is very well written and flows nicely. The descriptiveness is good. The spicy scenes are descriptive too which is what you expect from a good romance novel!

The characters are excellent and they all work well within the story. Bella is the FMC. I really liked her. She was sweet and kind. Plus she had the wee element of devious to plot against Chase. Speaking of Chase, he's our MMC. He is quite grumpy at first but he mellows out and is actually a really nice man. He has a good heart. I love the other girls in the Karma Club. Paige, Astrid and Sienna.

The book is written in third person. It's dual POV (Bella and Chase) . This is ideal for a romance as we get to watch their story unfold through both characters.

I really recommend this. It's a brilliant continuation and such a fun read.

I just finished this book after reading the first of the series last night.
This series is super fun and easy to read.
You get more of the friendship between the women in this book than in the last book which is great! Their friendship is a strong point throughout the series. Women thrown together through a coincidence and through shared life experiences..
They decide to take revenge on the men that have wronged them. But they’re finding out that there are two sides to every story.
The entire series hinges on the miscommunication trope, which I am usually not a fan of at all; in this book in particular, I don’t mind the miscommunication trope because it’s not as if one character overheard something and didn’t ask questions. It was because one character refuses to Acknowledge any emotional feelings. You know… like an adult 😂
But don’t worry, these ladies will make any man grow up 😬

I enjoyed the first book in the series and the revenge plan was really funny.
In this book, Bella starts working as communications director in the gallery where Chase is the director.
Her plan is to ruin his reputation and sanity because he lied to her friend about being married and making her "the other women".
What she did not expect is to be attracted to Chase.
The story is told through dual POV, so we get to find out from Chase that the "cheating" was just a miscommunication.
Slowly they help each other and become more close. He encouraging her to be more confident and she helps him open up more.
I did not like that the revenge plan ended up hurting the gallery and has consequences that he did not disserve.
That's why I do not like miscommunication in books.

Overall this was a quick and nice read and I look forward to the other 2 books in the series.

What another amazing read.
These ladies are such fun hilarious strong women and I’m here for it.
This is the second book in the karma club books and it didn’t disappoint.
Again notes were taken. Some of the things were so clever and sly it was brilliant and funny to play out.
This one follows Bella who is acting out karma on chase for his girlfriend finding out he is actually already married. Some of the things Bella comes up with are genius and absolutely hilarious when they are played out.
I really want to be in the karma club. These ladies are having so much fun it’s brilliant.

⭐3.75. The second book of the Karma Club series. Four women randomly meet at an airport, and after champagne and sugary treats, concoct plans to seek revenge upon each others' exes. Book 1 was Paige with Bella's ex, Olly. In this book, Bella is exacting revenge upon Chase, Astrid's ex. I can't wait to read the next two women's stories!

Each of these stories seems to be running at the same time as the others. I found it really interesting how what I thought I knew of the happenings of Bella's story, from Paige's perspective in book 1, was actually very different from what I read in this book.

Bella is one great, ruthless mastermind saboteur. It's both the little things she gets up to, and also the big things. The twist that happens though, and then the pivot afterwards kept things very interesting.

I liked both Bella and Chase's characters and how each had their own issues to deal with, but that they helped each other prepare to face those issues head on. Chase with his artistic block and always hiding from his emotions, and Bella's identity crisis on what she wanted for her future and how she presented herself to the world. "[...]he wanted to see what Bella was like when she made ripples. When she tried to. Now, that would be something."

I don't necessarily understand or get art, but I sure did like reading about the art world in this fun romance!

My favourite in this book: the hedge incident with Astrid 🤣

"We go down with the ship." "We go down with the ship. Are you sure it's not on?" "Yes." lololol

One negative critique: the story is dual POV, but I found sometimes there was no obvious point where it would switch. Sometimes, mid-chapter, with no breaks or natural spot, it would just switch all of a sudden. It threw me off quite a bit.

I really did enjoy this book. I loved the cover and blurb of this book have. I did enjoy the first book the Payback Plan by Amy Andrew. I knew i would enjoy this one too. It didn't disappoint me. I listened to this book. I did like the messages between Paige, Astrid, Sienna and Bella. I liked the writing style and the story. I did like the ending. Im looking forward to the next book.

🇬🇧 Let me start by saying that I received the ARC before the publication date, but I only just got around to reading it now. I just finished it and… WOW! What a book!!

The premise may sound familiar: Bella meets four women who, like her, have been deeply hurt and no longer believe in love. They decide to help one another — each of them will take revenge on the man who broke one of the others’ hearts.
Bella’s mission? Get a job at the art gallery of Chase Miller — world-famous artist, insanely hot, and (supposedly) a cheater! He’s the one who broke her friend Astrid’s heart.
Bella’s plan is simple: become indispensable while slowly sabotaging his reputation and messing with his head. But right from the start, things get complicated... because she also has to ignore, at all costs, the sizzling — and very mutual — chemistry with her off-limits boss!
But when Bella discovers that Chase isn’t who she and the girls thought he was, everything flips upside down: he’s kind, generous, respectful with his staff and friends, and most of all — with her.
And he is not a cheater. He was actually the one who was betrayed.
He doesn’t deserve any of the cruelty Bella and her friends have thrown at him.
Oh, and there’s one more complication... Bella has fallen in love with him. Now, she must undo all her scheming and sabotage to save Chase’s career — and their chance at a HEA.

I have to admit, I struggled a bit with the first part of the book. I couldn’t quite understand what could bond four strangers so tightly and so suddenly. Yes, they’d all been hurt by love, but for Bella to turn her whole life upside down just to seek revenge on behalf of someone else? A bit hard to believe.
But as soon as the story picked up and I got to know the characters better, I was hooked!

I absolutely loved Chase. He’s gruff but fair, kind, and struggling with a serious case of artistic block — not just because of his ex-wife’s betrayal, but (as Bella helps him realize) because he’s been chasing success to fulfill his late mother’s dream, not his own. Creating art for others rather than for himself has stolen all the joy from his work.
Bella, on the other hand, has always been a people pleaser — always solving everyone else’s problems. But going head-to-head with arrogant, brilliant Chase awakens something in her she’d long forgotten: her fire, her flaws, her boldness.
The real Bella loves being challenged by Chase. Their push-and-pull makes her feel more alive (and happier!) than ever before.
He, with his quiet gestures and his belief that art should be accessible to everyone, that anyone walking into a gallery should feel welcomed and deeply moved, gives Bella back her faith in humanity.
And yes — he made me fall for him too! I know he’ll make every reader’s heart race.

I was genuinely moved when Chase helped a little boy find the inspiration to express his feelings through art — and when he realized (even before Bella) that to make those kids' drawings truly accessible to children, they needed to hang the paintings low, at kid height.
And don’t even get me started on the scene where she blindfolds him, guides his hands over hers, and starts painting — until he’s the one leading her? Until he’s painting again? Goosebumps!!

And the spicy scenes? Really hot, but never gratuitous — always packed with meaning and emotion.

In short, this book is a small gem. Highly recommended read!!! 💖🔥

🇮🇹 Inizio col dire che ho ricevuto l’ARC prima della data di pubblicazione, ma sono riuscita a leggere il libro soltanto ora. Appena finito e... WOW! Che libro!!

La trama può sembrare scontata: Bella incontra quattro ragazze che, come lei, sono state profondamente ferite e non credono più nell’amore. Decidono così di aiutarsi a vicenda: ognuna ha il compito di vendicare una delle altre, rovinando l’uomo che le ha spezzato il cuore. Per Bella, il piano consiste nel farsi assumere nella galleria d’arte di Chase Miller, artista famosissimo, super sexy... e (a quanto pare) un traditore! È lui, infatti, ad aver spezzato il cuore della sua amica Astrid.

La strategia di Bella è semplice: diventare indispensabile, minando allo stesso tempo la sua reputazione e la sua sanità mentale. Ma sin da subito il compito si complica... perché deve anche ignorare a tutti i costi l'elettricità — bollente e reciproca — che scatta con il suo affascinante (e off-limits) capo!

Quando Bella scopre che Chase non è l’uomo che lei e le sue amiche credevano, tutto si ribalta: è gentile, disponibile, premuroso con il suo staff, con i suoi amici, e soprattutto con lei. E soprattutto: non è un traditore. Anzi, è lui ad essere stato tradito! Non merita affatto la cattiveria che Bella e le sue amiche gli hanno riservato. E, cosa impossibile da ignorare… Bella si è innamorata di lui.
Ora deve rimediare a tutte le sue azioni per salvare la carriera di Chase — e forse anche il loro lieto fine.

Ammetto che la prima parte del libro mi ha lasciata un po’ perplessa: non capivo cosa potesse legare così in fretta e in modo così profondo le vite di quattro sconosciute. Ok, tutte erano state deluse dall’amore, ma spingere Bella a stravolgere la propria vita per vendicare una di loro? Mi sembrava un po’ forzato.
Tuttavia, appena entrata nel vivo della storia e iniziato a conoscere i personaggi, non sono più riuscita a staccarmi!

Ho adorato Chase: uomo burbero ma onesto e gentile, bloccato artisticamente non solo dal tradimento della ex moglie, ma anche — come Bella lo aiuta a comprendere — dal fatto che ha inseguito il successo per esaudire il desiderio della madre, e non per se stesso. Creare arte per gli altri lo ha portato a perdere il gusto e la passione per ciò che faceva.

Bella, d’altro canto, è sempre stata una “people pleaser”, abituata a sistemare tutto per tutti. Ma lo scontro diretto con l’arrogante artista Chase risveglia in lei una parte sopita: quella più autentica, ribelle, imperfetta.
La vera Bella ama essere sfidata da Chase, e sentirsi viva e desiderata come mai prima.
Lui, con i suoi gesti gentili e la sua visione dell’arte — che dovrebbe essere accessibile a tutti, capace di muovere qualcosa dentro chi la guarda — le restituisce fiducia nell’umanità. E la fa innamorare. Anzi... ha fatto innamorare anche me! E so che farà battere il cuore a ogni lettrice.

Mi sono davvero commossa quando Chase aiuta un bambino a esprimere le proprie emozioni attraverso il disegno, e quando intuisce (prima di Bella) che, se vogliono esporre quei lavori in galleria per i bambini, i quadri devono essere appesi in basso, alla loro altezza.

E che dire della scena in cui lei lo benda, gli fa poggiare le mani sulle sue e inizia a dipingere... finché è lui a guidarla? A tornare a creare? Brividi!

Infine, le scene spicy: davvero hot, ma mai gratuite — sempre profonde, emozionanti, piene di significato.

Insomma, questo libro è un piccolo capolavoro.

Bella has been exiled in Paris for the past six months since her wealthy parents were embarrassed by her wedding fiasco. She was supposed to start work at their charitable foundation but delayed it to secure a job at the art gallery. Bella quickly becomes invaluable to the team and becomes invested in making the opening of the art gallery a success. She also realizes that Chase is not the villain that Astrid believed, and she must decide if she wants to continue the revenge plot. Additionally, Bella suspects that Paige is falling for Olly and has to deal with those emotions.

How to Get Even is an emotional enemies-to-lovers rom-com with engaging characters. While readers can predict the overall storyline, they will be engrossed by how Bella’s character changes course over the story. Refined Bella reveals her hidden cunning side and inflicts comical revenge on Chase, then changes gears and tries to redeem him. There’s suspense as readers wonder if the gallery will be able to open and will Bella’s revenge scheme get discovered. The characters are very well developed, so that the reader really roots for their happiness. The side characters at the art gallery are a very diverse group, so most readers should be able to identify with one of them. The author’s descriptions are so clear that it’s like watching a movie.

How to Get Even does contain some profanity sprinkled throughout the story and an open-door sex scene. It’s similar in spice level to Sally Thorne’s The Hating Game. I’m now anxious to read Astrid’s story, which is The Puck Stops Here by Rachael Stewart. I really hope that this Karma Club series can be made into a movie or TV series.

Bella’s arc is the standout—watching her transition from a people-pleasing socialite to someone who finally puts herself first is one of the novel’s strongest elements. Her bond with the Karma Club women adds richness and a grounded sense of support, making this not just a love story, but a story about reclaiming identity, autonomy, and self-worth.

Chase is no generic brooding love interest—he’s flawed, guarded, and driven by past pain. His emotional walls take time to come down, and while the romance builds slowly, it feels earned. Roscoe doesn’t rush the connection; instead, she lets the tension simmer until the payoff feels both intimate and transformative.

Readers who loved The Hating Game, The Ex Hex, or The Love Hypothesis will find a lot to enjoy here: clever sabotage, opposites-attract energy, and smart emotional twists. That said, the third-person POV and slower pacing might be a challenge for readers used to faster, dual-POV romances in the first person. The spice is there, but it’s a slow burn—expect a late ignition rather than instant heat.

How to Get Even is a satisfying and emotionally intelligent romance about revenge, redemption, and the messiness in between. It’s about finding your voice, risking vulnerability, and letting go of who you were to become who you’re meant to be. Funny, fierce, and unexpectedly tender, it proves that karma doesn’t always come how you expect—but it just might give you what you need.

Book Review: How to Get Even


Okay, this one surprised me — not with a big twist or drama, but with how slowly and surely it found its place in my heart. How to Get Even is the second book in the Karma Club series, and honestly? I think I liked it even more than the first. Maybe it was the setting, maybe the healing, maybe the friendships… or maybe just everything together.


The story is set in an art gallery, which already gives the book a soft, dreamy vibe. Our male lead is an artist — one who’s temporarily managing the gallery, carrying past heartbreak, and kind of hiding from himself. The female lead is a rich socialite, someone who’s reinventing herself as a communications manager and trying to prove she’s more than just her background. Both of them are stuck in their own ways, trying to move forward but still holding onto wounds they haven’t fully addressed. And somehow, through art, messy emotions, and that thin line between anger and attraction… they start to heal. Together.


It’s a workplace romance, yes, but also a book about second chances — not just in love, but in how we see ourselves.


In the beginning, I won’t lie, I couldn’t find the rhythm. The first few pages didn’t instantly pull me in and I wasn’t sure where it was going. But once I let myself just be with the story, it wrapped around me like a quiet hug. The pace picked up, the chemistry grew stronger, and slowly it became one of those books I wanted to return to. A comfort read. A book I’d reread not because it’s perfect, but because it feels safe, warm, and familiar.


The romcom moments are so on point. There’s spice, there’s banter, and then there’s that tension that simmers — not too much, but just enough to make you grin. But what stood out most to me was the friendship. The Karma Club girls? Their bond adds so much to the story. It’s not just about romance — it’s about found family, growth, and how people show up for each other when it really counts.


I loved the character development in this one. Both leads grew, not just as lovers but as individuals. They questioned their choices, unpacked their pain, and tried to be better — for themselves and for each other. And I loved that. That said, I still felt like something was missing. Maybe a little more closure, maybe a little more raw emotion. I can’t quite place it. But even with that small gap, the book felt complete in its own soft, hopeful way.


So yes — How to Get Even may not have had me at hello, but it definitely had me by the end. It’s a book that sneaks up on you with its honesty, with its quiet strength, and with its reminder that healing isn’t loud… sometimes, it’s just being understood.

That’s what it was like. The rush, that same heady feeling when he lost himself to a painting and looked back to see what he’d discovered. She was like that. A fresh painting, a surprise discovery, every single time.

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would do. Even without the alluring premise, the comedic timing is perfect in this story. Ms. Roscoe knows how to use timing and circumstances to create compelling scenes. Also, the art elements demonstrate excellent research work. Another thing I have to highlight is how clever the author used quotes from Sun Tzu’s The Art of War to structure the plot. That said, maybe it’s an ARC thing, but I found some POV changes (this book has a dual POV) were a bit abrupt.

The second installment in The Karma Club series was refreshing and fun without losing sight of the seriousness and transcendent factors of the plot. I haven’t read the first book (I’ll buy it and put it on my to-read list), but I will continue this series as I’ve really enjoyed what I’ve read so far.

The Karma Club series is about a group of women who meet at an airport when all flights are shut down due to a snowstorm. Each woman was wronged by a man and, after several adult beverages, they decided to get revenge for each other. In How to Get Even, Bella takes on Chase, an artist who is now working as a gallery director. When Astrid was dating Chase, she found out she was the other woman when his wife tracked them down at a hotel and let her know that the charming man she was dating was actually married. Bella, a socialite who was jilted at the altar, has always been "Good Bella" and worked hard to make sure she didn't make waves. Now, with her job as communications director and secret task of ruining Chase's reputation and sanity, she gets to also be "Bad Bella." "Bad Bella" is so much fun and a genius at revenge - she actually randomly changes some of the sugar packets in Chase's office for salt! Her plan is to get in, make herself indispensable, and then leave to go work at her parents' foundation after the gallery opening.

While this is book #2 in the series, it was the first one I read and it can easily stand alone (although I have already gotten the first book since I liked it so much!). It is told from both main characters' POVs. The chemistry between Bella and Chase is amazing and the secondary characters are well written as well. Bella is absolutely diabolical and I absolutely loved her. The group of women stay close through texting and chatting so you get glimpses into what I suspect is happening in the other books. While Bella is starting to relish her "bad" side, Chase is encouraging her to be herself and not be scared to voice her opinion. He grew up with a father who believed in keeping your feelings to yourself so he mainly released them in his art and hasn't been able to paint in quite awhile. He is temperamental and moody but Bella helps him open up more. I really enjoyed the premise of the series and that it focused on the women's friendship as well as the relationship between Bella and Chase.

How to Get Even continues the series written across different authors, The Karma Club (aka my new favorite series). This book can be read as a standalone but why do that when The Payback Plan was so much fun?

Bella Carmichael is out for revenge on behalf of her new friend group, targeting Astrid’s artist ex, Chase. Chase has lost his artist mojo and is a brand new Gallery Owner when Bella joins on to handle the PR and Communications (as a cover for the shenanigans she’ll subject Chase to). The second book in the series keeps the tone of the first, which is a feat. Funny but a little more focused on Bella and Chase’s backstories, both main characters and supporting are well written. Of course there’s a bit more to Chase than Bella initially thought and she finds her annoying but less hurtful revenge plots escalated to one with lasting damage and consequences that may be unearned. Bella also finds herself falling for Chase which puts her in a bit of a pickle. Chase, meanwhile, is very heartbreaking in several ways and I found him to be a compelling main character.

I love this series and can’t wait for the next book, which is teased in this one. And let’s all be honest - while all the exes seem like losers until we meet them, there’s definitely one in particular who clearly deserves his revenge and which I can’t wait to read about!

How to Get Even is the second book in The Karma Club series and I loved this one as much as the first!

The premise Karma Club series is 4 women who are strangers are stranded at an airport due to a snow storm and end up reaching a table in a restaurant at the same time. They decide to sit together and end up discussing their lousy exes over several glasses of Prosecco and decide to pick an ex to get revenge on.

This book focuses on Bella (whose ex is featured on book one) who is getting revenge on Astrids ex, Chase who cheated on her.

Bella, a beautiful socialite makes her play for revenge by getting a job at the art gallery the Chase manages and chips away at his sanity but doing things like loosening the screws on his office chair and putting salt in his sugar. She also tries to sabotage his career but soon finds out that all is not what it seems when it comes to Chase and his cheating ways and sparks soon start to fly when they’re together. Will she get her planned revenge or will she change her plan all together?

I loved the chemistry between Bella and Chase and how it builds as the book goes on. I also love the friendship between the Karma Club and how they become genuine friends who want each other to be happy.

I enjoyed how this book runs alongside The Payback Plan (book 1) with some of the same events happening in both books but from a different characters perspective.

This was such an enjoyable book to read with a bit of spice, funny moments and a bit heaping of romance!

I can’t wait to read the next 2 books in this series!

This is an interesting premise for getting revenge when love goes wrong. Being jilted at the altar has to be one of the worst situations to be caught in. And in absolute misery, Bella Carmichael felt destroyed by the experience. But by chance, she found three strangers at the airport with similar situations and they come up with a Karma Club, a revenge scheme where they will hook up with one of the other’s guy and lead him on to justifiable and deserved misery, a taste of his own cruelty.

In Book 2 of the series, we have Bella ready to seek revenge on Astrid’s ex, artist Chase Miller, the director of an art gallery he is trying to get started. Will her plan really work out? Will it please the jilted bride to see him humiliated? Now having second thoughts about whether the plan to ruin his reputation was the right thing to do… she is not sure if he really deserves what she set up? Is it too late to reverse it? Or will there be an oh-so-remote possibility that maybe the righteous “avenger” seeking justice for her friend may have accidentally fallen in love with the target herself? I guess the lesson learned is that there are two sides to a story and it’s best to have all of the information before making a judgment. And sometimes revenge is not so sweet as we might want to believe.

I enjoyed this! I haven’t read the other books in the series, but this one can definitely be read as an interconnected standalone without feeling you’re missing something. It's written in third person, which is not my preference in a romance novel, but I didn't dislike it here and the dual POV made up for it in my opinion.

I loved the way the friend group meets at the airport and how they each take on a different ‘task’. This new friendship really helped in adding a layer of depth to Bella and her character. She has a realistic character arc throughout the book and I appreciated the realness and vulnerability of it.

As for the romance, Chase and Bella brought out the best in each other without pushing for change. I liked them as a couple and felt they worked well together. I did feel the pacing was a bit off though.. The first half of the book is very much about the revenge plot, whereas the second half is heavily focused on the romance: I would have liked to see a bit more romantic build-up from the start.

All in all, it’s not a new favorite but it was a fun read and I would recommend if you’re looking for something quick and easy!

This is the second book in The Karma Club series which sounded like so much fun!
4 interconnected books written by different authors which follow the lives of these 4 strangers brought together by past relationship traumas.

You may have seen my review for book 1 - The Payback Plan by Amy Andrews - back in April. 

 

In this book we follow Bella's story, as she embarks on her plan to exact revenge on one of the Karma Club ladies' ex partner, who was a cheater!

 

I was really intrigued about how these books would work as part of the series and connect together or not - especially being written by the different authors with different writing styles etc.

 

Well, this worked so well and flowed seamlessly on from the other book.

It was really interesting to see that this book was set around the same time as book 1 so there were some elements here, that we already knew about and this helped to keep that connection in mind.

 

I loved Bella's story.

I think by now, we're getting the idea that as the ladies plan their revenge, they're pretty much inevitably going to fall for their victim, so I had that in mind as I was reading, which just made the journey even more fun!

 

I loved the way Bella worked so hard and was so determined, but we could see this change in her slowly emerging until we finally discover the real, free Bella - helped out into the open by Chase.

 

This book had all the feels, there were some really funny moments but then the next minute, I had a tear in my eye, swiftly shifting to those spicy episodes.

This was a rollercoaster.

 

It was great to see Chase's story come to light and his redemption was sweet!

A real lesson for us all to not judge a person before we know all sides!

And that people often deserve a second chance!?

 

I'm so excited to read the third book and hear Astrid's story - review coming in June!!

I accidentally fell into this series (I read the third book, then the first and How To Get Even is the second book) and I think this is probably my favourite of the three.

Each book in the series is written by a different author and it is a 'Horrible Bosses' type situation where each woman has been wronged by an ex and they vow to get revenge for their friends by targeting someone else's ex.

In How To Get Even, Bella Carmichael is determined to take down Chase Miller, her friend Astrid's ex who made her the "other woman" by sleeping with her while he was still married.

Chase has been employed as the director of his friend's new art gallery that is due to open soon and Bella is hired to work in communicatios. This allows Bella to get close to Chase and do things that inconvenience him or make him look like the bad guy in the art world.

Bella eventually learns more about Chase, the truth with what happened with Astrid and more about Chase's dreams of still creating his own art. I thought that this was so beautifully written, especially how Bella saw him for what he could do.

It was emotional and I felt like the art world wasn't just written as surface level, I was totally encompassed by this setting.

I can't wait for the last book in the series!

I had such fun watching Bella enact some well-deserved revenge on her friend’s ex. Although it’s getting harder to destroy Chase as she sees a different man that she’s fighting an attraction for… And when the truth finally comes to the surface.

If you love a well-written, witty, revenge plot romance with a couple that do belong together, but they’ll have to get beyond a lot before that happy ending can find them, then How to Get Even by Pippa Roscoe is perfect for you.

“What if we took it upon ourselves .. to exact a little revenge.”

I was very excited to receive an ARC of How to Get Even. The premise was very much a John Tucker Must Die / The Other Woman vibe.

Four strangers meet at an airport, realize they have something in common (shitty exes) and decide to enact revenge on each others exes.

The premise was a lot of fun and I really liked the four female characters! I will be excited to check out all of their books! You can kind of predict where the story is going, but it’s still a fun and quick read!

I liked Chase, but he could have saved a lot of trouble for everyone by just communicating. I also wish he was a little more upset when the reveal happened.

The POV changes were a little confusing. It seemed to started by switching after paragraph breaks, but then later it would switch in the middle of paragraphs.

Overall, the book was enjoyable! I really loved the premise and the characters, but some parts fell a bit flat for me.
