A pretty run-of-the-mill big name publisher piano arrangement book. It does the job of getting the piano arrangements to the masses, but really only does it halfheartedly. ~ I like that someone has taken the time to arrange these - or maybe I should say someone took the trouble to have them arranged. They are on the good side of mediocre, and are satisfying enough to play. I may learn one or two with a few of my own modifications. ~ One thing that bothers me, though, is the apparent lack of interest in key signatures. For example, Corynorhinus, from Batman Begins is obviously in F minor, but is marked down as A minor, with every flat marked as an accidental instead. This not only shows a disregard for the music, but also shows bad editing on the part of the publisher. I can maybe understand that they were trying to make the arrangements not look so hard? But it seems to me that they failed at that, considering all the accidentals they ended up with. Or perhaps it was generated by an AI, and because some of the songs don't have a clear key signature throughout the piece, it didn't know what to do, so it panicked and just put it in C with accidentals? I don't know. Whatever the case, I wish they had paid more attention do such things and marked down the key signatures correctly. ~ As I said above, it's okay. They're not the worst arrangements I've seen; I wouldn't be ashamed to play them in public. Maybe I'll learn one or two.
A picture often is worth a thousand words... cruelty done unto on a pain etched face... the face is a bit weathered, if not worn... artistry requires sacrifices... men who have the sensitivity experience the world differently... a statement of a career.
