I received this book for an honest review. This review contains spoilers. This was a really good book. At times it read like it was the authors diary and I really in enjoyed that style of writing. Eva Thompson is a romance writer who has a wonderful relationship with her husband Mark. They have been together almost 20 years and have three children. Like all relationships they go through ups and downs with both of them near cheating on one another after the birth of there last child, but somehow they managed to get back on track. When their oldest daughter gets a new dance teacher at first Eva doesn't notice the beautiful Nicole but when she does she has in instant crush on her which is strange to her because she is not attracted to women. This leaves her confused and when she shares her feeling with Mark he gets jealous and doesn't think anything of it until he meets her and just like his wife he is instantly attracted to her as well. This book to me is one of those story that is not just about sex I mean the sex scenes were hot as hell, but I felt the emotions that they were going through as they try to make this relationship work. They had problems with people understanding how they felt. I liked how Eva and Mark put their kids feelings first and at first there oldest daughter was against it and they broke up and made them all unhappy. I am not going to give to much of this story away. This is my first time reading this author and I enjoyed it. If you like reading menage F/M/F with emotion and feeling than I would recommend that you read this book. I was sad to see it end.
This is one of my favorite sub-genres - F/M/F. But this book was not good. The writing is undeveloped, the emotions are simplified, and the sex scenes are luke-warm.
An extra positive would have been the fact that the main characters are POC - or at least that's what's shown on the cover. I had no idea when I was reading this. Everyone was so vanilla I thought they were white. No references to "warm chocolate skin" or other sensual aspects that would have enhanced the story.
I recommend this story to readers who enjoy ménage stories, with a heavy emphasise on coming out to your children, some as young as 8 years old, explaining to friends and family you love a third, etc, etc, etc.
Although there was plenty of mention of sex and so-called 'sex scenes', they weren't flesh out enough for me to find titillating. But hey I'm a self-confessed smut whore, so that one's on me.
Interesting... I like that the third party was so respectful of the family. The daughter was a bit of a bitch, and the parents did not have a good relationship with her. I think that more communication with the children at the offset would have been better. On the other hand, the willingness of the girlfriend was commendable. It takes someone who truly loves not to demand. Some people may think that the girlfriend was a bit of dishrag and that she should have demanded to have her HEA, but its harder to give then take, and she was very sweet about giving.
