'"Now, if you’re a good boy and you behave like we’ve taught you, this will all be over soon." The doctor dragged the boy to a chair and forced him to sit. The boy kept his eyes fixed on the far wall, ignoring the feeling of the needle sinking into his arm. He winced, gritted his teeth and compelled himself to remain silent, even as a pain like acid spread through his arm and into his torso, tightening his chest to an unbearable level. He couldn’t hold it in any more. He threw his head back and screamed out.'Seph's mother died giving birth to him, leaving him to grow up in a military compound. Dr. Sericus claims that he has a medical condition that requires constant monitoring and tests. However, Seph manages to lead a fairly normal life and makes friends with some of the soldiers in the base. As Seph grows up, he begins to question the nature of Dr. Sericus's tests. He chooses to drop out of the medical trials, but Dr. Sericus won’t let him go so easily. He threatens to destroy everything Seph has ever cared about, starting with the lives of his teammates.

Hi! I'm Jo and I love writing! Since I love writing so much, I should probably write some more about myself.

I've been writing for as long as I can remember and probably long before that. I wrote my first novel when I was thirteen (it was about vampyres and werewolves and it was a bit crap). I remember going into school every day and telling my friends at lunch what I'd been writing the night before. And when I went home, I'd carry on until, eventually, it ended. A year or so later, I wrote my first proper short story, which was the basis for Fallen Angels. I showed it to a couple of friends and they loved it and wanted me to do another. I showed it to one of my English teachers, but it was actually a PE teacher who gave me the push to write it as another novel. I'm still really proud of it, but I can't bear to look back at the prose for fear of hating it!
