This book is the first official book in its series of standalone but connected romances involving cryptid's and various mythical beings, although Moth to Her Flame is also connected to this series. I haven't read Moth to Her Flame yet (it's on my TBR list) and still enjoyed this story and getting to know both Dante (Jersey Devil) & Blair (Human) and seeing how their relationship and individual characters evolved as the story progressed. I look forward to seeing how this series continues and what character the next book will focus on as well as potentially getting to see more about Dante & Blair.

A smart and delightfully steamy "tale", or should I say "tail"?
Dante's job was to save the doctor that risked her life to get them information on the secret facility, Apex Evolution. He just expects to rescue her, not feel a bond with her.
Blair can't let the experiments continue but she never expected to be captured and drugged. At first, she thinks her rescue is a dream but no, this Jersey Devil is very real. What she doesn't expect is the way he makes her feel.
They both have a hidden past they'd rather forget. But some nightmares need to be faced before they can be resolved.

While this is book one in this series, we actually meet these characters in Moth To Her Flame in another series called Mated to the Monster. I recommend checking that out as it sets up the initially story. This book picks up after Blair is rescued in the prior mentioned book. Lots of witty banter and attraction between this couple with the right amount of spice. Can't wait to see who the next couple will be.

I’m so glad Alana decided to make this into a series! Alana did what I hope more authors would do is gave a quick recap at the beginning on this book. When you read as much as I do and at my age, well, a quick recap is appreciated. The storyline is exceptional…it’s unique, creative and flows with intensity. There are monsters of all historical myths which I absolutely LOVED! I can’t wait for the next book in the series. This is a must read for readers of this genre. Download and enjoy!❤️❤️❤️

A moving story where a scientist put herself at risk to get USB files to the Cryptid to help their fight
Dr Andrews “Blair” had been able to get a USB drive to the Cryptid so that they could see information that was being used by the laboratories against the various subjects they considered as nothing more than monsters for experimental procedures and testing of weapons or simply to murder.
Blair had then been captured those in the lab and then they had held her hostage while they had used various torture devices and injections and compounds in an effort to gain information about the Cryptids so the Hunters could use it to inflict as much damage to them as possible.
Blairs Mother had been a researcher and had been looking into Cryptids and unfortunately had been killed by a basilisk but her father had not been believed and his continued raising of his four-year-old daughter to work alongside him as a scientist. He cannot understand her choices and believes his daughter is betraying her memory when in fact she is continuing her mother’s dreams.
Blair and Dante, the Jersey Devil are working alongside each other and overtime they recognise that they are actually mates and when she realises that he has been injured and that it was a toxin that he had never seen before it had killed his friend so he had carried this pain deeply and it had been eating him from within.
As their relationship grows and they are fighting for Kieran the young Jersey Devil that had been too wary to move to the sanctuary, to live alongside the other Cryptids in the crystal caves hidden in the mountains. Blair is working alongside this group and she is trying to prevent her father and his men from attacking the people that have come to mean so much to her, they are almost her family now and she will do anything to see then succeed and live their lives in freedom, just as her mother would have dreamed.
She may have grown up as the Hunters Daughter but she now has taken her mothers patch and will do anything to see these various Cryptids and the special breeds and their attributes that only they can carry forward. It is imperative that they survive and with the help of the Scientist she may have given them the leg-up they needed.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

This is an amazing story!!! If you haven't gotten your copy you need to hurry up and get your copy. I loved every single moment of this story. Dante saves Blair from being in torture for what she knows in the facility that she had been working in. Blair processes everything scientifically and makes spreadsheets for everything. The next thing Dante hears is Blair annualizing his characteristics in a notebook and her many lists. His sense of humour was so much fun to read I found myself laughing out loud as his comments and his way of bringing Blair out of her scientific bubble.
The chemistry between these two characters kept me enthralled with their story and what was going to happen next between them. The action was non-stop and makes your breath catch hoping things come out in the end. I loved every single moment of this book and so can't wait to see what this amazing author is going to bring us with this new series of hers.
The romance is spicy and gripping and so sweet it warms your heart!! The camaraderie between the whole group of different species and characters is full of humour and support for each separate being and what they contribute. The action non-stop and you are still left hanging and waiting for the next story to see how they beat their adversaries. This is a must read!!!!

The Devil made her do it… She fell in love!
Devilishly Hers is book 1 in the Monster Mountain Romance series. This new book by Alana Khan is yet another creatively written story full of diverse, captivating and expressive characters, a wonderfully written plot and just enough peril and turmoil to keep me on my toes. There is plenty of zippy magnetism and sexual attraction between this new couple and a very nerdy banter that I just loved!
In my opinion Devilishly Hers is not the beginning. Find a book called Moth To Her Flame, although this book is in another series called Mated to the Monster: Season 3, it is an introduction to some of the characters here and a setup for some of the startling events that take place in Devilishly Hers. I was captivated by Moth To Her Flame’s introduction to this world and it should not be missed!
Devilishly Hers has a found and formed family element, a strong sense of community and support and plenty of quirky and loveable Cryptids that have charmed me and I cannot wait for them each to have their own stories!

A Jersey Devil and a monster hunter-turned scientist, seemingly an unlikely couple, but they are the couple we've been waiting for!!
After reading Moth To Her Flame, I was so excited to read the stories of the other cryptids, and this is the first look into the other team members. Dante was such a dynamic character in Moth, and i was excited to read his story.
Dante's injury, occurring previous to the start to the book, is a mystery. How did he get hurt, why isn't he healing, who else was there, why is he so guilt-ridden about it? When he gets the chance to rescue Blair from the institute hunting his kind, he finds more than a potential ally.
I love that Dante is a flawed hero, and Blair is a neurodivergent representative, and how well they work together. The story was good, the suspense was solid, and the heat built beautifully.
Looking forward to reading the stories of the rest of the cryptids!

I was totally and undeniably obsessed with this story. I was hooked from the very first page, to the point that I couldn't put it down until I had finished it.
Our main characters are out of this world. The unequivocal analytical mind that Blair displays throughout the book is mind-blowing. Her logic, to reason everything is ........well. lets just say it's an experience. The powerful connection she feels and observes from her knight in shining armor is intoxicating. Dante ( Jersey Devil) is , what can I say....he's everything. He displays control like no other. Oh and the secrets he holds 🔥
This story is so captivating, moving, sweet, sexy, and most definitely addictive it should be on everyone's TBR 🔥💜

I skimmed after the 90% point. I don’t know about this author anymore tbh. The 3rd act breakup is one of my least-liked tropes, and after things get ‘settled’, I honestly hoped that the book would throw in something great like Kiernen coming back, to Dante’s utter surprise. Because the way the story was described, he didn’t actually see Kiernen die. That would have been really cool to stash in the epilogue.
Also, the several chapters ending in quaint 3-statement closing sentences were all tell, no show. It read like ad copy.
I don’t know. I get the feeling the author doesn’t want to continue this series. She probably should take a break but I can imagine if you make a living by writing that’s not easy to do.

Dante and Blair . . .
I really enjoy this author’s writing and she proved herself once again with this one. Dante is a Jersey Devil who adores the human who turns out to be his mate, Dr. Blair Andrews, an amazing scientist with an analytical brain unlike any other. Dante has a poisonous toxin painfully killing him, but that won’t slow him down as he has to rescue Blair who has been kidnapped and faces death. They will kill her if he doesn’t get to her in time. Will everything turn out right? Can he rescue her? And can he be saved as well? There is so much going on that the reader will find it difficult to walk away from the book… but why would you want to anyway?

This was a great first novel in this spin off series. I love the idea of exploring “What if’s “ surrounding mythical beings. I also had to smile at the very clinical scientific exchanges between Blair and Dante though. Who knew that science and research could be so much fun. 😉 Looking forward to the next story now.

This was a beautiful beginning to a new series. I admire how the author translates ordinary words into scientific terms and vice versa. I appreciate the words of wisdom that conclude each chapter. I loved the deepening connections between our MCs, how they established their bond, renewed the trust between them, and cherished their connection.

This was a fab follow up to Moth to her Flame and I love that we get to see how Blair and Dante's story unfolds. This well written story has so much to keep you glued to your reader. Fascinating characters, drama, danger, witty banter, secrets and hot chemistry that leads to love. I really enjoyed the reading ride and definitely am looking forward to the next book :D

I just love Dante. Hebis a lot of fun and super hot. He has to save the doctor but he didn't excpect her to BE his mate. To bad he has a deathly toxin in his bloody. She is so inteligente and he is unexpectedly very stimulating to her brain and other parts. He is a true hero and he Will do any thing to save Blair. Loved this One.

The first story in the Monster Mountain Romance, Blair and Dante a Jersey Devil's well written story with drama, danger, suspense and romance. The storyline is very good, the characters are great with a happy ending. I want to read more in the series. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Alana Khan's ability to develop well rounded characters and vivid world building enables the reader to feel as if they could step into any scene. Elements of prejudice, fear, enemies, family, honor and love hold the reader's attention throughout the book. A great read.

Part of the Monster Mountain Romance series. What happens when Blair, a human and Dante, a Jersey devil meet? Will there be a HEA? This is the first book I've read with a Jersey devil as one of the main characters. Very well-written and can't wait for the next book.

Dante's and Melinda’s book was amazing. The action with the hunters and Melinda’s past kept me hooked. Kieran was such a sad part of the book...

Sadly I need to dnf this one at 50%. The tone feels too Young Adult & I can now confirm that "pseudo scientific talk" while in the throes of passion is an absolute turn off.
