I chose this book because it fulfilled a writing challenge prompt of a book under 200 pages, and assumed it would be a quick, mindless read. What I didn’t expect was this book to be filled with twists and turns that would make it near impossible to put it down. Graham depicts a vivid setting that makes readers feel like they have been thrust into Killarney Park itself. Told through the POV of the family dog Tobey, Escape from Killarney provides a fresh and new perspective. The only criticism I have is I wish Davey’s story could have had a stronger conclusion rather than him just disappearing back into the woods after bringing the children to safety.

This book tells a brave story of heroics from the perspective of a dog! Such a fun and easy read as an adult and something I would have loved to read when I was the intended young audience for it as well.
I found the story to be constantly on, and enjoyed that aspect, very little drag in terms of the plot moving along.
A worthwhile read because I think we could all learn a thing or two from Toby, the dog in question and his bravery in fighting a bear!

I won this book on Goodreads and I just sat down and read the whole thing in an hour. Usually books don't intrigue me this much, but I loved this book. It is an AWESOME book! ! ! I thought this book was going to be a horror story but it is not. It is about a family who goes camping to get back to the basics and like all kids they wonder off. Luckily they have their wonderful dog Toby with them, as they encounter a wolfe, a huge bear, and a "crazy" lumberjack in the woods. After getting lost in the woods, they finally make it back to their camp only to find that the campsite has been destroyed, but by who or what? ? Evelyn and Graham start to wonder if they'll ever get out of there alive. Evelyn then gets bite by a rattlesnake. Are they going to be able to Escape from Killarney? And what has happened to their parents? This an exciting, fast-paced, great adventure. One that you must read. An excellent book for anyone.

Great book! The cover looks scary and gives you an idea how the characters may I've felt, but really this is an action and adventure book that just doesn't stop! The kids loved reading it, and so did I!
