Drift is a story of personal healing, reclaiming identity, and being loved with a romantic MM ending.

After an earthquake, 27-year-old Damian Palomo is in a coma and wakes up as his boss's new custom Audi RS4. Damian's also stuck in Southpoint, the Central Valley town he ran away from almost a decade ago.
Relying on his boss, 25-year-old Ethan Reynolds, proves difficult as Ethan's gotten himself involved in the local, dangerous racing scene—and he owes people a race. He must put up his shiny new car, now possessed by his assistant, Damian.
They must work together to keep Ethan and the car out of criminal hands. Damian unravels as he faces the traumatic past he spent years suppressing and hiding from Ethan, the only person he can depend on.

Drift sounded intriguing to me. Who doesn't love a sentient car and their human buddy as a duo? Knight Rider. Bumblebee. Herbie. Etc.
I started reading and couldn't put it down. Drift is fun, fast paced, and right away we have the human as car action in chapter 2-3.

Damian is knocked unconscious in an accident, and while his body lies in the hospital in a coma, his consciousness wakes up inside a car.
His crush's car! Who is also his boss. (Ethan)
From there they have to figure things out (ensue shenanigans and comedy) and also help Ethan win a street race and put the bad guys away.

Oh and they also have to get Damian back into his body so he isn't a car anymore... But in a classic romance way, everything works out for them.

It isn't the easiest of journeys as there's also Damian's family dynamics and past coming out trauma to work through, so if you want an emotional story that has alot of hurt comfort to it, talking through feelings, working through past pains and making up, and first loves, then this is perfect.

I thought it was refreshing, quick and fun. A well deserved ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wow! What an incredible debut novel! The beautiful journey that Damian goes on to accept who he is and regain control of his life back was inspiring. And Ethan?! Love him to pieces! Oh, and Damian slips into a coma and possesses Ethan’s car for a week. It’s so much fun!

“'What do you want?' 'Not much. Just you.'”

This book was very interesting! The plot was unique and I loved the low key Fast and Furious vibes it was giving. Ethan and Damian were so cute together! I loved how patient Ethan was with Damian as he was working through things. Also, it was really interesting to read Damian's POV as a car. This is actually my first book centering around cars, so it was very cool to read. I will say that the timeline was a little off. Time would skip around or transitions between scenes were abrupt, but I think Anita Morenos has a great writing style, and I can't wait to read her next book to see her develop her writing more! The mental health rep in this book was amazing, and I loved it! I love a great MM romance book. I think the chemistry between Ethan and Damian was great and I can't wait to read more!
