Kiss Me Honey Honey

Rate this book
Every kiss is a sin.

Aaron has spent his life running from intimacy, but when his professor, Dr Kenneth Lyons, broke through his defences last year, only to push him away, the sting of rejection left an indelible mark. He’s determined to win him back and prove their connection is more than just forbidden heat. But when danger lurks in every touch, and even a single kiss becomes deadly, Aaron might not survive long enough to prove he’s worth the risk.

Kenny knows he shouldn’t want his student. Resisting Aaron has already cost him pieces of himself he can’t recover. Torn between his career and the man who’s stolen his heart, Kenny struggles to keep his distance. But when Aaron becomes the target of a ruthless killer, the fragile lines Kenny drew between them blur. And he’s forced to face the truth. Protecting Aaron could destroy his future… or shatter his soul.

As a series of brutal murders pulls them deeper into a web of danger, Aaron and Kenny are forced to confront the darkest shadows of Aaron’s past and the devastating legacy binding them together.

With their forbidden bond igniting into an all-consuming blaze, they must decide: in a world where trust is a death sentence and love could cost them everything, how far are they willing to go to save each other?

Kiss Me Honey Honey is the gripping second installment in the To Love a Psycho trilogy where passion and peril collide.

THIS WAS SO GOOD! And god I loved how they were just unable to resist each other even if it means to risk everything.

“I will kiss you.” […] “When I’m ready to let you destroy my life.”

Aaron gazed up at him with a devastating mix of triumph and yearning, and Kenny knew then, with bone-deep certainty that when, not if, but when he kissed him again, he’d give permission for Aaron to destroy his entire life.

I just love to dive deep into the psyche of the human mind. And to learn what makes a killer tick? So damn captivating. And I guess the last one will be an extra juicy one in that regard!!

I am obsessed with Kenny and Aaron! They're an explosion waiting to happen at all times and I'm eagerly watching in the front row 😂

I loved the development of their relationship throughout this book. The tension between these two has been intense since their first encounter and their chemistry is so good, but they both overthink so much that at times I just want to shake them!!

Jack is kind of growing on me now after finding him annoying up until almost the end of this book - I'm firmly team Aaron 😂

I cannot wait to see what comes in the final book and how the relationship with Kenny and Aaron will be pushed to it's breaking point - I am dying for their love declarations and I think I will actually squeal when it happens 😂😂

I received an ARC of this book from CF White, and this is my honest review

"I will kiss you......when I'm ready to let you destroy my life." as if Aaron isn't already destroying his sanity regardless.

I waited 6 hours and 41 minutes for this kiss(plus the hours of book 1💀) and it was so worth it.

10/10 would wait again.

"This changes everything."

"Don’t pretend we were anything other than this from the moment we met. Your denial was infuriating. Don't start it again."

Aaron with the demands 😂

Also really enjoyed the scene of Aaron having increasingly anger-inducing mental images of Kenny fucking Jack all over the apartment in their past.

How are you rage-baiting yourself? Enjoy your post coital bliss.

Also liked how jealous Jack still clearly is, in spite of being married now. Maybe it's less jealousy and more 'why is he being everything I always wanted but for someone else'?

I'm glad Kenny still maintains a modicum of sanity in this one. Yes, student x professor relationships are not a fireable offense at his university but he's not taking any unnecessary risks.

I love that this ends with them together but STILL hiding the relationship. Kenny really likes his job lmao because I know Aaron would do unspeakable things to him in public if he'd let him.

An entire star for Roisin being such a mindfuck because what the hell is that epilogue?

Had ME second guessing things and I know these MCs(but also, do I? Because at the start I lowkey thought Aaron had gone off the rails🙈). The chaos that is this woman. Imagine if she were free to roam the world?!

Now THAT is a sequel! KISS ME HONEY HONEY is just as intense and spine tingling as the first installment in this series but cranks up the heat, depth, and emotional complexity. The twists continue to surprise and delight, and there’s at least one major plot reveal that happens casually and without fanfare; if you’re not paying attention you might miss it.

What starts off as a slow burn ramps up quickly, and I’m reminded how no one writes human connection quite like C.F. White. She’s inside their heads in a way that’s personal and intimate, almost an invasion of privacy. But the result is readers sharing in their intimacy, making even a casual touch or lingering glance feel like a bold caress.

There’s been at least one point in each of these books where I become so consumed by the dynamic between Aaron and Kenny that I forget there’s a serial killer on the loose. AND they’re supposed to stop them. Because what’s happening between them is just as intense- if not MORE than- that entire storyline.

If I’m being honest, Kenny is everything I love in a dominant MC. He’s cool, calm, and calculating, appearing in control while also unleashing his inner chaos with frenetic abandon. If only Aaron didn’t know how to push ALL his buttons SO WELL… For all Kenny’s control, dominance, compulsion, and particularity, his deeply buried vulnerability means Aaron could still break him.

Aaron brings his own brand of chaos, an inner madness that’s always just right there, simmering under the surface. Most of the time I wonder how he’s so well adjusted after, well, everything, but then he shows his cards. He’ll do or say something just a little too unhinged that has you thinking, “Ahh, there he is.”

While characters and tropes often set expectations, good storytelling plays up the enjoyable tension anticipating those moments. C.F. White is a master at creating and amplifying anticipation. The way she makes you wait for it - YEARN for it - really takes things to the next level. There’s a scene where Kenny runs his knuckles across Aaron’s cheek, and that single caress speaks volumes. Everything between them is charged and electric, and ONE TOUCH cranks it up to an 11. THAT is an experience I crave as a romance reader, and many of us read book after book searching for that high.

21 Feb 2026 - I just finished C.F. White's Kiss Me Honey Honey as an audiobook, performed by the marvelous Piers Ryman. Ryman does his best to infuse White's emotional novel with the tension, darkness, and romance this tale possesses. Highly deserving of a listen (or a reread!). Either way, this series is amazing and I highly recommend it.

C.F. White's Kiss Me Honey Honey is the second in the To Love a Psycho series. These books need to be read in order, and the third book, Killing Me Softly is on the way, so start off with Dream a Little Dream and get stuck into this thrilling ride. I've five starred both books so far, and highly recommend them.

Fans of C.F. White know what a wonderful job they do exploring their characters, and delving into the minds of this complex cast has been endlessly fascinating. And while the series is centered around the life of folks touched by the acts of serial killers, the story is romance driven. Told from dual points of view, we get to know these two men deeply.

What a great story, bravo C.F. White!

This series is just getting better.

The chemistry between Kenny and Aaron is becoming more and more intense. On the one hand, you’re wanting them to just give everything up for one another, and on the other, you’re waiting for the other shoe to drop. I really want the world for Aaron after everything he really deserves it.

The crimes are written really well, very realistic, and creepy. The backstory for the killers links well with the Howell case. I think the next story has been set up well, and I’m intrigued to see where the author takes it.

Just so good! I love a crime documentary, and this feels like that in book form. So realistic and interesting. A little dark but also spicy and, in rare moments, sweet. I can’t wait to see how their relationship develops and to see if they make or break each other.

”It was surrender.”

And not just for them. Apparently for me too since I was surrendering my sleep for just a page more of this gripping tale of everything forbidden and everything not, tangled in gruesome secrets and complicated pasts.

Totally worth it tho.

Until the epilogue struck again and now I’m left with permanent dark circles and zero self-control.

Oh my! C F White delivered another gripping and completely engrossing sequel to Aaron and Kenny’s story and somehow it managed the impossible task of beating the expectations I had after reading the first one. While the same approach to giving an intricate fast paced plot, deep dive into the motivations and compulsions of the protagonists and the villain (and even some of our favourite side characters) compel you to keep reading, this one sees a lot more push and pull, delicious resistance and nuances of the forbidden relationship between Kenny and Aaron. There is also a vulnerability and softness and we see them breaking their own boundaries, not being entirely perfect , hiding even from themselves as they navigate the developing relationship. This one is also far spicier than the first which is befitting of the dynamic they are both driven towards.

On the one hand things precariously balanced are starting to unravel and on the other hand the net is getting tighter - there is feeling of being on edge and a subtle discomfort which feels like you’re just missing something while looking out of the corner of your eye. The suspense and mystery is stupendous as there is a killer on the loose. It’s a brilliant reading experience. Highly recommend checking out this series if you like edge of your seat tension in your thrillers and a hint of an obsessive romance in your pairings.

Expect:
* Forbidden Professor x student
* Psychological thriller
* Slow burn
* Obsession
* Suspense and mystery
* Found family
* Size difference
* Murder
* Edgy
* Still not a HEA yet but a HFN so read on to the next instalment

The beginning of this book had me on the end of my seat. I was impressed and not at all surprised how quickly this book captured my complete attention making the pages fly by.

Kiss Me Honey Honey is book two and continuation of To Love a Psycho trilogy. Once again, Aaron, Kenny, and another murder mystery is on the horizon for these main characters. Comparing this book to the previous in the trilogy, the relationship between Aaron and Kenny increases in tension. The stakes are higher than ever, and they both know, especially Kenny, how this relationship will impact them.

They can no longer deny the love and attraction they have tried to avoid it is screaming to be let out in the open. And to be quite honest, that tension was perfection. The way Kenny's and Aaron's feelings are written and described is all consuming. It's an addiction they have, and as soon as they see or touch each other, they want to be together to fill those things they crave and feel complete.

Regarding the mystery, it may not be difficult to find who it is. However, the process it takes the characters to find who is responsible I found to be extremely interesting. In addition, regarding the lectures, it gave me the feeling as if I'm part of those topics being discussed. I could see the amount of much time the author has put into this book by diving into these topics to create such a complex opinion and understanding of the human mind. All of this is to create a world building experience that not only follows a mystery and suspenseful aspect but also the past life of Aaron and how it did and will continue to impact his future. Another thing that stood out is Kenny's analysis of everyone around him and yet not even he himself is saved from self analysis which I find that to be funny how accurate it is and still he decides to take risks.

Overall, it was a great second book that I could not put down. I really did try to space it out as long as possible because book three still has some time to release. It's honesty great. I can not recommend it enough. If you are looking for a mystery, psychological thriller with morally grey chracters, this is a must read.

This author does not come up enough in mm recommend lists. Whilst this series may sway too deep into the dark side for some, this isn’t their usual sub-genre and if you want something lighter but still well written I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the Worth It series.

C.F. White has a way of writing characters that are full of depth and that come alive on the page; whether it’s delving into the mind of a serial killer or writing about the evolving romantic feelings of their latest MC, she manages to give each of them their own unique voice.

Kiss Me Honey Honey is well balanced second instalment in the To Love a Psycho story centred around Aaron the son of the infamous Howell Murderers and Kenny the criminal psychologist who profiled them.

The romance is a slow burn tease, and whilst stereotypically the power would fall to Kenny, Aaron shows such cunning intelligence and sassy strength that Kenny doesn’t stand a chance unless Aaron is letting him - and it’s Aaron’s slightly unhinged personality (no one could escape his childhood unharmed) that provides some much needed laughter alongside the sometimes quite graphic murder plot line.

My only hope for book 3 is Aaron loses whatever murderer catnip he’s been carrying around in his exceptionally tight ripped jeans 😄

I was provided with an ALC by the author in exchange for an honest review. These are my real sentiments about the story and everything written here is respectful, without meaning to harm anyone, but to offer my opinion as constructive criticism/compliments. Thank you, C.F., for the opportunity!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ / 5 (I'd give as many as I could!)
🔥🔥🔥🔥.5 / 5

Couple: Aaron and Kenny.

I didn't think this book could be better than the first one. Equally good, sure. But it proved me wrong. Turns out C.F. was able to make an already extraordinary story even better.

All the intelligence of dialogues and descriptions continue in the sequel. Aaron and Kenny are even more enticing to read, to see together. The way they're drawn to each other more and more. The way they are exactly what the other needs—not necessarily in the healthiest way, as Kenny well knows, but in a way that just fits perfectly—is so well done, I could feel it in my bones.

I loved seeing Kenny show more of his possessive, protective and jealous side. He's a mess. One who puts on a great façade of having his shit together on the outside, but a mess nontheless. And Aaron, God, I just wanted to curl him up in a blanket, hold him and never let him go. It was comforting seeing It's obvious by the way their relationships is building that they'll still have serious issues to address between themselves, and each of them individually. I'm happy to know there are still two other books already published, and a fifth one in the making. Their story feels like one that would have ammunition to be told forever.

The entire criminal plot was also amazing. Again, masterfully done. The tension and subtlety of the killer's and killing story were something refreshing and genius. Once again, it got me as hung up as the MCs' relationship itself. I particularly loved the fact that Kenny was confronted with the fact that his professional analysis can impact lives and not be necessarily right. Even though I absolutely love his mind, he does work in a field where he has to sometimes put people in possible little boxes and that can backfire, so I really liked that aspect was explored too.

I'm excited to read more about them and see how it all plays out. Will never stop recommending this. I'm in constant AWE of what C.F. has done with this story, seriously. Ah, and once again, Piers Ryman? BEST narrator I've ever listened to. It made all the difference in my immersive reading. I'm looking forward to audiobook 3.

As much as this isn't everyone's cup of cake, if you like mystery/thriller with a dark romance, inserted in an extremely intelligent plot and execution, just don't miss this out. I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do.

CF White is a smartie. I don’t know if she was a psychologist or just an academic, but there’s substance here. Nothing much really took me out of the story, except for thinking how Kenny really needs better boundaries around trying to psychoanalyze everyone around him. Just because you’re psychologist doesn’t mean you need to therapize everyone outside of work.

To Love a Psycho book 2 is the continuation of Kenny and Aaron’s story. As such it is absolutely NOT a stand alone, must be read in order. But that’s fine - pull up a comfy chair and some hot tea and go on this wild ride. Was there a twist at the end - yes. Is it clearly leading to book 3? Also yes. And I am here for it. I received this title free in exchange for an honest review but it was so good I bought the whole series because i already know they will be re-reads for me.

The 2nd book in this series is even better than the first. Aaron and Kenny are getting closer and the relationship between them reaches another level while more crimes happen on campus.
Are those crimes related to Aeron's parents? Will Aaron start to have his identity discovered on campus?
This book is to pick up and not be able to be put down, but it only makes sense to read the 1st book of this series and look forward to the last book and the outcome of this relationship

Utterly Thrilling and Breathtakingly Romantic!

Book two in the series is an electrifying blend of suspense, passion, and forbidden love that had me utterly captivated from start to finish.

Aaron and Kenny’s forbidden chemistry is nothing short of explosive, but what truly makes this book shine is the deep depth of emotion woven into every stolen glance, every whispered promise, and every moment of agonising restraint.
Amidst the turmoil of concealing their growing relationship, another murder rocks the campus—one that, once again, ties back to the Howell crimes.

The tension, both romantic and suspenseful, is masterfully crafted, keeping you on the edge of your seat as the stakes climb higher with every chapter. The danger lurking in the shadows adds a heart-pounding intensity, making this not just a romance, but a gripping thriller that refuses to let go.
The author expertly captures every flicker of longing, heartbreak, and desperate hope, making Aaron and Kenny’s journey both deeply poignant and intensely passionate.

This novel is laced with edge-of-your-seat suspense, beautifully flawed characters, and a love story that burns brighter in the face of danger making Kiss Me Honey Honey an absolute must-read.
Bring on the next instalment—I need more! 🔥💔✨

Another cracking book from Ms. White. Kiss Me Honey is the follow up to thriller, Dream A Little Dream, and it totally lives up to the first book. Once again we have Aaron a victim of circumstance, totally misunderstood by those around him, except for Kenny, who is still doing his best to stay away from Aaron. However, through CF's writing, it's clear that there's a magnetic pull between them, and a sense of shared isolation that binds them together. Aaron is such a lonely and broken young man, who is obviously yearning for a connection, and he's found that in Kenny.

Once again, the plot is dark, and the emotional clout of the story is immense. I could have cried for Aaron, he's so vulnerable, I love how Kenny cares for him, and shows how much he loves him through his actions, even though he's too fearful to tell Aaron about his feelings. I did guess the baddie fairly early on in the plot, but it didn't take away from the story in the slightest. I found myself sympathising with the villain, and once again as I was reading, I felt quite tearful as I read his story. It's so sad 😢

This story is even more thrilling and emotional than the first book, the plot twists and turns every few pages, making it nearly impossible to put down. I'm totally hooked, and cannot wait for the last in the series, which CF nicely sets up.

Loved the ebook, made even better through the narration. Piers Ryman really has a knack for getting into the characters heads. Did a first class job.

I’m going to need 5 books before I read the next one, become this one was a doozy. I didn’t like Taylor from the beginning of this book, he was selfish, entitled and… rubbed me wrong, or it could be because he isn’t Kenny, and a Kenny is the only one I want for Aaron, but… didn’t like him, and felt validated about my dislike, let’s leave it at that. The guy at the beginning though… so sad! I felt sorry for him seriously. Yes, a killer, but… was he born or made? I tend to think it might have been a bit of both, and I would love for Kenny to assess hi, and treat him and fix him, because… he didn’t deserve what she did to him, it neither did his victims, and… here we go again. The morally grey area, what’s the right thing to do? Would treating a victim prevent the victim from retaliating? Is abuse a sure sign of the abused turned to abuser? Is it possible to break the cycle? If it is, how? Are more jails or more therapists needed? This book isn’t just a continuation of Aaron and Kenny’s love story, with a dash of suspense. This is a full on, psychological and philosophy treatment, with a dash of romance, drama, and suspense mixed to perfection. I still need 5 books before I read the next one, but I’m a fast reader, and I look forward to reading the next ones.

This was a great sequel! In comparison to book 1, I was into this from the very beginning since we got another murder mystery, while the push and pull between the MCs increases.

Without spoilers, the story continues with both MCs going through their lives after the conclusion from the first case in book 1. Things get complicated when a new serial killer is attacking people from the campus, with both MCs getting involved. It's not the only thing they'll get involved in, since their feelings doesn't let them pull alway from each other for long, and soon their identities and relationship might be in danger.

I loved that the book kept the momentum going and there wasn't a single chapter where I was bored. The background plot was very engaging, similarly to book 1.

This time Aaron's doubts and fear come back. It's interesting to see this type of character crack, because he always comes off as independent and having everything under control even when he doesn't, but he almost never wavers. In contrast, Kenny becomes more commited and gets himself ready to face consequences. It was the development from both that I was expecting and it was satisfying that both grew into having more stability.

Another thing I also enjoyed was the writting, I thought some of the dialogues were very well done. I know it's not easy to have a character that's a psychologist and give them a voice that comes off as a professional, but I'm very glad this author delivered on the characterization and actually made them feel real and beliavable in their age and personalities.

The pacing was great too, things never felt going too slow or fast, it was the perfect amount of suspense and I liked that the background plot didn't stop going in favor for the relationship development, instead both kept advancing parallelly.

Similarly to book 1, the dynamic was really sold, I liked how there were constant "we can't, we can" from both at different times. I also found one thing revealed about Kenny very eye-opening, although I sort of saw it coming, but it does show this man is flawed. And that's okay, I like it when MCs have a messy relationship and aren't perfect.

Honestly, during the first half I thought that I'd give this 5 stars, and don't get me wrong it really is a great book, but there were details I wasn't fully into , and these were:

-I really wanted Kenny to put more work into the relationship. He isn't laidback or a passive type of character, but I still thought it wasn't totally fair that it was always Aaron the one fighting for both and putting more effort. I liked how it was shown that Kenny's had his own fears about it, it felt real and beliavable, but I still wanted for Kenny to be the one chasing this time, and sadly 80% of the time it was Aaron doing that. This left me a bit unsatisfied, although I was still happy for their development overall.

-Aaron's last decission on how to approach the case felt very... dumb to me. He's supossed to be cautious agaisnt people that could harm him, although risky in a situation where he really wants something, so I could see why he did that - but it still felt a bit too silly, especially when he didn't told anyone beforehand.

Ultimately, this book delivered well the themes it intended, from the mystery crime with an interesting case, to the forbidden push and pull between a teacher and a student that feels beliavable, with the characters dealing with real life consequences and acting as the flawed people they are in their own ways. I'm looking forward to book 3.

-This was an ARC review.

Kiss Me Honey Honey is the second book in the ‘To Love a Psycho’ series. It stars Kenny, a forensic psychologist and university professor, and Aaron, a student and son of serial killers. This is told in third person from Kenny and Aaron’s povs.

The blurb gives a basic idea of the plot, but I’ll add some to it without giving away what happens. The story starts from the serial killers pov, which I thought was unusual because we were looking through their eyes and mind as to why they did what they did. I wasn’t sure how the author could keep the suspense going if the book started with the killer’s pov. It worked out because this story is more romance centric than suspense. Yes, the suspense is there, but the heat and angst between Kenny and Aaron has ramped up. Kenny went away to Greece for the holiday break hoping it would be easier for him and Aaron to cool their relationship, but it only made it worse. Aaron accidentally helps Kenny figure out how the killer murdered the victims. Secrets get revealed that cause huge problems.

The author did a fantastic job drawing me in off the bat. The book was just as intense as the first one but only in a different way. The first one was more suspense intense, while this plot focused more on the conflicted, yet growing attraction between Kenny and Aaron. Aaron is set on breaking Kenny to give in. Just like reading the first book, the story was so intense I had to take breaks by reading milder stories to relieve the tension. That’s a me thing since I’m not used to reading such dramatic stories.

Both Kenny and Aaron’s personalities were consistent with the way they were in the first book. Kenny is sharp, restrained, and he appears to have a sadistic side to his personality. That makes me wonder, why is he sadistic? Aaron craves the power Kenny has over him, he enjoys Kenny’s darker side, which makes me think that has something to do with his mother. At the same time, there’s a part of Aaron that wants to control Kenny. I’ve read many of this author’s books and she always does a terrific job of conveying emotions, but the characters in this one are the best of all the ones I’ve read. I could feel what they felt, and understood why they thought the way they did. But there were certain ways the author used words that could be interpreted as having multiple meanings, and I probably won’t know the real meanings until the series is over.

The last chapter ended like the first book, with Aaron going to see his mother in prison. Roison still gives me the creeps. She knows too much of what’s happening between Kenny and Aaron, it’s almost like she has a spy on the outside who is watching them. If that’s true, who is it? She tells Aaron why he’s the way he is and what’s going to happen to Kenny. It’s like how does she know and why is she so sure? At the same time, throughout the story, there are inklings of Aaron and Kenny letting go and healing from whatever darkness they carry within them. That there’s something there between them that will save them from whatever insane game Roison is playing. There are so many questions. Is it for revenge? Or is she trying to re-enact a game to gain control of something that happened to her when she was young? Kenny talks of re-enacting abuse and murders as a way to regain control of the narrative of the trauma someone may have suffered. Whatever the reason, I really hope Roisin gets her comeuppance.

I can’t wait until the third and final book is out. The first two books were intense, I’m expecting the third one to blow those two out of the water. I highly, highly, recommend this series to other readers who like dark suspense and romance. I give Kiss Me Honey Honey, a solid 5 Stars.

I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.

It was intoxicating. Not for what it was, but for what it could become.

I… don’t know how to begin the review without cursing to hell and I deleted the first sentence about twelve times because I couldn’t make it sound less like a drunken sailor.
Otherwise I am speechless.

“You ready for me to destroy your life yet?” Aaron said against Kenny’s lips.

The first book already wrecked me and even a month later I am still OBSESSED with it.
No, this book didn’t help. I don’t think it has gotten better, nor worse. Maybe a bit of both?

Aaron and Kenny… I don’t think any characters ever ripped my heart out as much as those two did. I literally had sleepless nights because I couldn’t stop thinking about them.
I usually don’t get obsessed with characters in that way. I’m usually read and done. I can count the books/series I obsessed with on one hand and I actually thought long and hard about it if I ever felt like this because of a book before.

He’ll carve out these insides, take everything he needs from me to survive, then leave me for dead.

The slow burn was still so slow. I mean it was a little faster because they finally got together but that already took a whole book so nothing about their relationship is fast.
It hurts in a delicious way though.
Chapter 8 alone… I wanted to weep so much. I stared at the ceiling for about half an hour after reading that, even my partner started to worry. And that was a nice chapter!

“I will kiss you. [...] When I’m ready to let you destroy my life.”

I bit my nails through the whole book. I could guess a few things but not how exactly they played out and the anticipation of how it would happen had me on edge the whole time.

He held Aaron close, heart warring with his mind, knowing that whatever battle raged inside him, whatever lines he had crossed or rules he’d shattered, none of it mattered as much as the quiet rise and fall of Aaron’s breath beneath his touch.

I wept and screamed and cursed. I wanted to cradle and hold the characters and slap them until everything got alright.

But then there was the rest of it, everything else between them, each moment, each slip, each kiss. Every single one adding another strand to the noose Kenny seemed intent on wrapping around his own neck.

The book doesn’t only have the murder mystery but also more about Aaron's life interwoven. It is all connected in a fucked up way that made it very thrilling. There were also so many psychological aspects within the story. It felt a little less Criminal Minds but more like actual psychological lectures.
Poor Aaron couldn’t get a minute without being psychoanalysed by someone or himself. But it was refreshing to have Kenny get some of his own medicine back.

And there it was. The final nail in the coffin. The knot pulled impossibly tight. The last chance to turn back lost in the dust of their wake. There was no more push and pull, no more questions of will they or won’t they. They had. They did.

I’m not sure if I’d call them coming together as hot, because it didn’t feel like they got together for sex but as something necessary like breathing. All their want and need and how they slowly came together. It didn’t feel like an explosion. It felt more like overheating in the sun and taking the first sip of cold clear water.

“It strips you bare, takes every ounce of strength you’ve fought to hold on to, and leaves you with nothing but pain. And it reminds you that you’re still human. When all you want is to be the monster.

I am eternally grateful to the author for allowing me to read the book early!
Now I have to wait for the third book and hope I'll survive it...

I received this book, and am leaving a voluntary review.

Kiss Me Honey Honey, by CF White, is a suspenseful romance detailing Aaron’s ongoing struggles with his past and his growing obsession with his professor.

Aaron and Kenny are currently trapped in a complicated relationship where they refuse to give each other an inch, despite their constant need to torture themselves with their desire for one another. While navigating this complicated (not complicated) dynamic, a new killer emerges from Aaron’s past. With bodies already stacking up, and Aaron’s life now at stake, the two men soon find themselves digging through the nightmare that was the Howell murders to determine he identity of the murderer, all the while trying to see what it means for Aaron’s own legacy.

Aaron remains as beautifully complex as ever. I like his initiative, even if he had to take some questionable actions to do so. His self-doubts align with his values, and though he tries to do better, sometimes he’ll stumble, and that’s alright. I’m happy to see that he’s leaning more towards his support system, even though he’s had to let go of one or two asshats. Without spoiling too much, I also like Aaron’s place in the story, and how much deeper he still has to go in order to learn more about himself and the abuse he’s gone through. The themes of trauma begetting trauma and the black mirror that Aaron inadvertently holds up for himself and others showcase how far he’s matured as a character.

I still hate Roisin. You can never get me to like Roisin. So much so that it’s easy to see that the web that Aaron spins for himself promotes healing, while Roisin is evidently desperate to destroy herself and everything in her life. Her mind remains as enigmatic as ever, her delusions just as strong. It’s a nice thing to see that her sins didn’t touch Aaron.

I’m not going to lie, I didn’t like the final villain’s reveal; the character made sense, and all the clues in the book led up to him. But I just wish there were more complications that Aaron and Kenny have to weave through. I am happy to see that Aaron is more hypervigilant, although that could be due to the trauma he’d gone through with the last case. Moreover, White seemed to hype Kenny’s monsters up in the first book, but that doesn’t necessarily pay out in the book. I feel like I’m reading about a declawed cat who’s now just biding his time waiting for treats. While it’s cute and all, I do wish there were more darkness to his character.

Remnants of how victims may find it easy to victimize were interwoven well in this story, even if it was a little messy. I love the comparisons that White sets up between Aaron and the killer, as well as Roisin and the killer. And while there was some lost potential, I will continue to read the series with the same vigor I started with. As such, I would give this book a 4 out of 5, and would recommend it to fans of a good horror mystery.

This second book in the series was as compelling as the first. The push and pull, on again/off again, scorching hot chemistry relationship between forensic psychology student Aaron and his forensic psychology professor Kenneth Lyons, continues at the start of Aaron’s second year. Kenny has been working to erect barriers with Aaron while he tries to keep his reputation and teaching position intact, all while Aaron is trying to break those barriers down, still pursuing Kenny in any way he can.

Right away, a suspicious death of a young coed occurs, and further inquiry makes it appear that another serial killer may be on campus, one with a deadly kiss. As Kenny and his ex, Detective Jack Bentley, try to determine method, motive, and a suspect, Aaron finds a couple of clues to add to the mix, and he wonders if there could be a connection to his serial killer parents. Are the roses connected with the crime scenes a coincidence or a connection to the Howells, and could Aaron’s mother somehow be involved in manipulating events from prison? Only time and the solution to the mystery and apprehending the killer will tell for sure.

There is a lot of psychological information on serial killers and their motivations which I found fascinating and insightful, really adding to the story. It led to speculations on my part, both in this part of the story, but also tying in with things Aaron’s mother said when he visited her in prison at the end book one and this book. She alluded to a game which was still going on and had not yet played out. There will be a third book to finish the story of Aaron and Kenny and if it follows the first two books, there will be another serial killer, ties back to Aaron’s parents and their killing sprees, and danger for Aaron and Kenny. I especially hope we hear more about Child A, there was speculation that Child A might be in the area, so that had me thinking about side characters from books one and two, coming up with a prediction on who it might be and a part to play if they do exist on campus or in the area. These books really get me thinking and analyzing information as it comes to make predictions on killers or possible events or outcomes in the future.

If you like a good, thriller mystery with fascinating characters, serial killers with interesting connections to Aaron’s past, and some spicy scenes with Kenny and Aaron, this may be the series for you.

I received an ARC from the author and this is my voluntary review.

Kiss Me Honey Honey — C.F. White
ARC provided via GRR — thank you for the opportunity to read and review.

This sequel digs in deeper — darker emotions, heavier trauma, higher stakes, and a connection that’s starting to look less like forbidden longing and more like inevitability.

Book one gave us obsession slowly burning under the surface. Book two? It’s that obsession cracking wide open, bleeding into every choice Aaron and Kenny make. There’s pain here, and longing, and that terrifying tenderness that happens when someone finally gets close enough to see the real wounds.

Aaron is still that razor-edged mix of broken, brilliant, and starved for affection — desperate not just to be wanted, but to be believed in. Watching him push, retreat, and cling in equal measure hit hard. He is fighting for connection even when he believes he doesn’t deserve one, and it hurts in the best way.

Kenny… oh, Kenny. You can feel his struggle — the moral conflict, the fear, the hunger. He’s trying so hard to protect his career, his sanity, his boundaries — and Aaron shatters every one of them just by existing. There’s no pretending anymore: Aaron isn’t a temptation — he’s the axis Kenny’s world is turning on.

Emotionally, this book is raw. Kisses are a battlefield. Touch is a confession. Love is dangerous — literally. The threat circling them sharpens, the violence escalates, and every protective instinct Kenny has is weaponized against his better judgment. I loved the tension between fear and devotion, ruin and redemption.

Nothing about their story is safe — not their hearts, not their future, not their bodies. And that’s exactly what makes it addictive.

Tropes & Themes:

Dark MM romance

Forbidden professor/student dynamic still simmering

Obsession → emotional attachment → terrifying vulnerability

Hurt/comfort soaked in danger

Serial-killer legacy and stalking threat

“You're mine, even if it ruins me” energy

Tone: Dark, yearning, intense, psychologically charged
Spice: 🔥🔥🔥/5 — less explicit than some dark romances, but emotionally scorching

CW/TW: Serial killers, murder, trauma, attempted/mentions of rape, past abuse, violence, obsessive behavior, emotional manipulation, self-destructive coping

If book one hooked me, this one sunk its claws in. Their love isn’t soft — it’s jagged and complicated and so full of need that it’s almost frightening. I love a romance that isn’t afraid to look directly at the broken parts and still say “stay.”

On to the next descent into madness and devotion. I’m fully strapped in. 🖤🔥

Kiss Me Honey Honey is Book 2 in the new To Love A Psycho series by C.F. White
Dr. Kenny Lyons and Aaron Jones are back and oh boy…
Aaron is recovering from the events of book one and his feelings for Kenny remain complicated. He’s possessive, brilliant, has impulsive control problems, and attracts trouble like no one’s business. Plus Kenny has abandoned him for a conference and he’s trying to keep a would be suitor at arms length. Add to the mix there’s a new killer in town with an unexpected connection to Aaron’s troubled past.
There are a million reasons why Kenny should keep his distance from Aaron. The whole Professor- Student thing. Their past interaction as part of Aaron’s parent’s case, Aaron’s trauma, and his own obsessions. But their current attraction won’t be denied.
Their relationship is a little toxic, a little tender, with off the charts levels of heat once their slow burn ignites and catches fire.
The case itself is engrossing and creepy. Clues are cleverly hidden in plain sight, and Kenny’s ex, DI Jack is back. I didn’t love Jack in the first book, and while he’s better here but I’m still not a fan. (But his husband Fraser is all kinds of awesome.)
I love Aaron, and seeing this prickly work in progress stand up for himself against an ex with a grudge and his problematic roommates was satisfying. His ability to offer comfort to some who made his life hell shows his humanity and proves he’s not the monster he fears genetics might have made him.
I also liked Aaron came clean to Kenny that their first meeting wasn’t accidental. They’re in a good place and the moments of domesticity are a nice break from the chaos outside the haven of Kenny’s home. They work well together - and I think they’re going to need that bond to survive this series.
There is a revelation at the 90% that I didn’t see coming but absolutely loved. There are so many possibilities where this could take the story. I have mixed feelings about the final book. I don’t want this series to end, but I do want Aaron and Kenny to get their HEA, complete with a Golden Retriever. Oh, who am I kidding? I can’t wait - bring on Book 3! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Arc audio review

Story = 3.5 stars
Narration = 5 stars

This is not a standalone. Read book 1. The layers and details the author puts into their work is the best I've read in a long time. The set up for this book was fantastic.

The prologue in this book really intrigued me and sucked me in but overall. I enjoyed book 1 alot more even though I still loved both of the MCs and loved them together.

From after the prologue til about 60% in, there wasn't enough happening on the case to keep my interest and Kens push and pull mind games got old fast. There is some steam in the end but not enough imo. After being on edge the whole first book, I expected and needed much more than this. I had to push myself to continue.

Also, whereas in book 1 the side characters added depth to the plot and I liked them, in this the 3 main side characters all came off as unlikeable characters and they annoyed me everytime they popped up, which was frequent. In fairness, 2 of them were needed to advance the plot, but one was unnecessary.

Things eventually picked up and I loved the last 25% (5 stars for it) but it took so long to get there that I can't rate this any higher than I did.

There are 2 more books on this couple. Not sure if I'll continue. On the one hand I love both of the MCs and love them together and it would be nice to read a book where they are no longer hiding and free to do what they want but on the other hand there's no guarantee that will happen and I feel like my interest in these 2 has dwindled significantly since the first book because of this. It ends on not necessarily a cliffhanger but there was a doozy piece of info dropped in the plot though at the end and my curiosity is just too strong. I got to know what happens so I will likely carry on.

The narrator did a great job. They had a pleasant voice/accent. They kept a good pace/flow. They expressed all the emotions wonderfully and brought the story to life. They gave all of the characters including the side characters their own distinct voice that suited them each perfectly and made it easy to follow the story.

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧
Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Performance: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️️
Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Kiss Me Honey Honey” picks up where the first volume, “Dream a Little Dream,” left off. I therefore recommend reading the first volume first.
The writing style was very enjoyable, and the story is once again a great read. The story is written alternately from the perspectives of Aaron and Kenny.
Several months have passed since the serial murders in Ryston when another murder occurs. This case is particularly perfidious. Jack begins to investigate and once again he involves Kenny. And it doesn't stop at one murder. There are clues to the first serial murders, but the perpetrator has been apprehended. Exciting investigations and discoveries follow.
Kenny misses Aaron very much, but he tries to maintain the professional distance between a professor and a student, even though it is difficult for him.
Aaron has developed a casual relationship with Taylor, a fellow student, even though Kenny is still on his mind. So he keeps trying to break through Kenny's walls and tear them down, making it increasingly difficult for Kenny to maintain a professional relationship.
The tension and chemistry between the two is palpable and intense as you read. And I loved how the two slowly build a relationship despite their forbidden love. Both have complex personalities, but when they come together, things can get explosive. And they really shouldn't be together, but they can't escape their attraction to each other.
I love the mix of passion and thriller that the author presents us with here. She has done an absolutely phenomenal job! The story still revolves around the Howell family, and there is a little cliffhanger at the end. I can't wait for the final volume to be released!
Piers Ryman also narrated this volume, and he did a brilliant job again with his deep, rough voice. He read in a very lively and varied way and conveyed the emotions, of which there were quite a few, superbly.
The audiobook is highly recommended!

The obsession is only getting stronger... I swear, the chokehold this two have on me is as unhealthy as their obsession for each other. They are like a ticking bomb about to level everything in it's path and I can't look away.

If I thought book one was exceptional, well... I was right, but so is this one. I just can't even comprehend how I got here. These books consume me in a way I can't even properly describe. It is impossible.

Kenny and Aaron are like no other couple I've read before, and this says a lot since I do read a lot... They have something so special about them that pull at my heart.

I was in tears so many times listening to this book it is not even funny, and leave it to C.F White to make me sob like a fool in an Uber while listening to a sexy scene. I think that Uber driver doesn't know what happened and will probably give me 1✨️ hahahaha, but me? I will give this book a 5✨️ and that driver a tip cuz wth? No one should be a witness to that level of crazy behavior. 🤣🤣 but how else was I suppose to react? You don't understand... this HEA is so hard fought for it is insane.

This is book two in a series, the books need to be read in order, and you would WANT to do that in order to feel all these building emotions. I feel empty right now. I feel like I need a mental health break just to recover from this masterpiece.

Oh, Lord... I am so curious what is gonna happen next... I can't wait for the next audiobooks to be out cuz not only did the narrator do a spectacular job, but hearing the story while reading also adds another layer on this emotional roller coaster...

I can't say much cuz I will spoil the book, but believe me when I tell you, the plot of these books is amazing and it apparently gets better with every book.

I don't know what I'll do when this series will be over for me. I am scared even to think about it cuz I am not ready... that will be a whole different kind of heartbreak.

infinite stars.

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

This is book 2 in the To Love a Psycho trilogy and you must must MUST read book one, Dream a Litte Dream before this one. There is a lot in there to unpack here and if you haven't read it, much will not make any sense.

After the events of last year, Kenny and Aaron are spiraling, both of them. They need each other, but cannot be together, not until Aaron is ready to ruin Kenny, his words. But there is a murderer in town, and they are getting close to their goal. Whoever it is, might just kill them both.

Ok so! I'm gonna be super SUPER vague here, and super short, because if I give myself free rein, I'll spoil things for someone else and I don't want to do that!

There was a BLINDER of a plot twist here, and until it was fully revealed, I wasn't able to put all the pieces together so I was kinda blindsided and I bloody loved being knocked off my axis!!

Kenny and Aaron are navigating how not to be together but are still drawn to each other at every turn. I loved watching them at least try a little to deny themselves, Kenny more so that Aaron.

The point I loved the most in this book, apart from the plot twist, was the moment that Kenny finally gives Aaron what he wants: a kiss. Kenny is a complicated fella! But letting Aaron in, finally, was a bit of a profound moment, and I had to stop a little bit to regroup.

I have no idea what's going to happen in book 3, I have a sneaking suspicion it will relate to the previously mentioned plot twist! The HEA I'm waiting on, the L-word usage better come in book 3, it really had!!

I cannot fault these books, they are dark and deadly, but so engrossing, I stayed up til 3 am reading this one!!

5 full and shiny stars

This is the second book in the trilogy about the son of a pair of serial killers and his criminal psychology professor. The first book was beyond captivating but left me yearning for a closer relationship between the MCs. This book delivered beyond my wildest expectations.

The plot is there, man. It's intriguing and gripping and everything you want it to be. The sense of dread creeping through the storyline is so very well done. I was never bored, never felt like I knew the outcome well enough to not need to read more.

But where this book shines is in the emotions. The enormous emotional hurdles Kenny and Aaron have to clear kept me on the edge throughout the entire book. It's going badly -> when oh when will they be okay? It's going well -> what new disaster is going to rip their trust apart? The whole thing is a see-saw that you never get tired of because each high and low is achingly familiar but still new and twisted and holds you fast by the throat while crooning poetry into your ears.

Oh, do I sound enamored with this book? I am. You want an unbiased opinion? Look elsewhere. These characters have me hooked. I'm more invested in this story than most stereotypical 90s housewives were with their daytime television. Not even three-quarters through this book, I knew I was going to struggle with not having the third book in my greedy hands to immediately dive into. And I was right.

This book tore me to shreds before stitching me back together. Only there are still pieces missing. But I trust that they'll be returned to me with the series conclusion. The roller coaster of tension this book provides hurts *so* good.
